Ryan

The sun was shining brightly and the sky was clear. The wind was blowing softly. In a park a kid nearly the age of 14 could be seen sitting on a swing, he had black hair which were roughly done and a face devoid of vitality but his eyes had a burning spirit in them. He was wearing tattered clothes and had bare feet. He appeared as if he was sleeping but on a closer inspection his open eyes could be seen.

In this heat of summer few were willing to go out not to mention for some peace of time.

Suddenly the kid got up and ran towards the southern exit of the park. After some time a group of 4 to 5 children at the same age as of the boy could be seen coming with sticks in their hands from the western exit. They appeared to be in a bad mood and were swinging their sticks in air. After they reached the area where boy was sitting they noticed that there was on one.

"Where is Ryan?!" a kid with some muscles asked holding the collar of a timid one. His name was Rick the leader of this small gang. He had short black hair and was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt with shorts. Apparently he had a bad day today and after knowing the 'traitor' Ryan was here he ran here in order to vent his anger and lighten his mood. But he was disappointed and got even more angry when he saw there was no one here.

The timid kid swallowed his saliva he knew that if he didn't come up with a good reason he was gonna get a good beating.

"Boss, I swear I saw him here few minutes ago and texted you about it. I...I didn't know he would leave so early." the timid kid said waving his hands.

Rick threw him on the ground and started swinging his stick in air madly.

"Damn it!!"

He kept on shouting until when one of the kid who also had some muscle walked to him and patted his shoulder.

"What is it Jack?" Rick shouted.

The other just calmly replied "He was here that is true, but I think he ran away when he realized some danger. You know his instincts. But there is no need to worry. I just recieved a text stating he has gone in southern direction."

"You mean..."

"Yes, he has gone to cemetery." Jack said with a cruel smile.

Rick's eye lit up. They knew Ryan for few years and there were quite a few places where he went often, and one of them was cemetery.

"Let's go then."

In a narrow alley on the southern district a boy could be seen his figure appearing quite stressed and panting heavily.

"Damn those b*stars."

Yes, this kid was none other than Ryan. His whole body was covered in cold sweat. When he was sitting in the park, he had a sudden sense of danger and thus he ran away quickly. After living in this cruel environment he had developed a kind of instinct and he trusted them deeply. When he was running away he stopped at the exit to see what had happened. He was startled to see a group of boys approaching his location. They were all carrying sticks and he knew by their attitudes who they were.

He ran non-stop after that to this alley.

After his stamina had recovered a bit he went towards cemetery towards the grave of his parents placed in a corner. Although no bodies were found and government refused to make a grave, he made one himself.

He knelt near the two stones and started crying silently. He knew that crying won't bring back his parents but he couldn't help himself.

He took out a locket from his pocket. The locket was made of some strange crystal and emitted a glow which made it look heavenly. On one side of it initials were written. They were his parent's, Martha and Alex Jayden. His mother had gifted this to him on his 10th birthday saying that, if he was ever in some deep trouble, this would protect him. Although he didn't know what it meant but he still kept it as a memory of her and his father. Memories started coming up, of his kind and gentle father and his loving mother. He remembered their actions when they were still alive. They were always willingly to help others and were always referred to as the 'Kind couple'.

He was unwilling to think that such people were traitors who had played with the lives of millions of people.

He shook his head and cleared his mind. Just as he was thinking of going back to orphanage the locket stated giving off a faint glow different than before and heated up then he saw a pillar of light reaching to the sky on the other side of graveyard from the old wine factory.

Driven by an unknown curiosity, he got up and headed in that direction.
