8 Hands Of The Informer

Timmot patched me up, so I wasn't losing that much blood any longer. It still hurt like hell, but I powered through it. He also apologized for the incident from earlier. I mean, it wasn't his fault entirely that this all happened. It was a terrible thing to happen to anyone, we both went through it, though mine was more off what someone good with manipulation said. So our stories are still a bit different, yet they are similar for the death of a crowd of people aspect.

"We are here," Arishia said as we pulled up to the bar. It had been about 15-20 minutes to get here. Detective Nelson and Kira were quick at doing what they were doing. They checked a lot of places in a short time, so that was odd. In the time it took us to check 2, they went through 7. Unless they got outside help or they had a definitive way of doing so, I didn't believe it for a second. Someone taking on a Discord alone... Arishia killing that Regal Discord alone is pretty much impossible.

"Arishia, tell me how you managed to kill that Regal Discord." She didn't tense or anything, but she also didn't respond, so this wasn't that good for my information. "Just tell me how Arishia." She sighed and did one of her stupid card tricks. I stared at her blankly for a moment before realizing that even the Regal Discords are affected by such trickery. "Sneaky witch." I croaked.

She smiled at me again, I can't tell if she has an honest hatred towards us, or if she is actually trying to be nice. "Let's just get inside and make sure that we get all of the Infected." We walked in slowly, having a good look around before asking around if anyone had been at the train incident or had they been infected before that. The truth is that once stage 1 is in effect, the virus is then able to travel by mouth. So you don't need to be fully infected or even decently infected to be able to spread. After the initial phase of the time of it spreading through the body, the host instantly becomes an infectious bomb.

In the end, this place didn't have anyone that was severely infected and we took care of the confused ones that were outside. This would be one of the last ones we hit. We never thought about the consequences since the public hadn't realized about the virus yet. That should've been our main target, in the beginning, making sure the mobile task force didn't chase us down thinking we were the enemy. As we were leaving, a few patrol cars flew by sirens blazing. I understood what was happening, and it wasn't gonna be fun with what we would be going through. Now not only was it the infected but the law after us as well.

"Arishia, we need to get outta here and hide out somewhere. The police, I didn't think about how to deal with that problem. Speaking of us, Kira and Detective Nelson, they must be having a hard time too as well." She nodded and Timmot swore under his breath as well.

"Tim, it'll be fine, we just need to be able to back ourselves up if they get to us. Not to mention they are already dealing with two completely insane creatures that could easily overpower all 3 of us." His face drooped, I didn't help much and that wasn't my intention, I guess that I went a bit too hard on his already destroyed self.

I sighed and let my mind wander as we drove around trying not to seem suspicious as the police know it was us who killed all the people in the bars. We were low on options and some Regal Discords were out ready to kill and infect as it was. We were at a dead-end. It was either kill the rest and get caught and possibly saving humanity, or not and hiding as we let these... things take over. I had already decided when we started. "We are gonna get caught, but before we get caught, we are gonna kill the rest of these fuckers before it gets bad."

I said this, but I myself had no idea how we would. One infected that is completely even too strong, Arishia saved us last time because of her ability with those damned magic tricks. But we can't resort to those every time, and who knows the next time this happens and she dies. Then we are fucked for sure, and there will be no way of getting around it.

We hit up the last of them, most of them ending as the previous one had, not much, and some cooperation. We had one more left to do, and the law enforcement knew who we were now. We drove and got to the last one, here we saw Kira and Detective Nelson getting here with us as well.

"So, you weren't chased by cops the whole way here, having to take 3 back alleys to loose em?" I said snarkily as we entered the last of the bars. "Anyone who wants to have a fistfight come outside!" Detective Nelson shouted I turned him a confused glance. He grinned followed by a nod, this is how they had been doing this the whole time. Kira grabbed Arishia by the shoulder and walked her over to the bar and most of the rest flocked over to them.

These 2 were doing it the smart way, Nelson would beat the shit outta every fight then check them for bites while Kira played hooker and left all the men scattered between the men's and women's bathrooms. These two were geniuses for this kind of play. For this kind of background, it relates to when I was younger and I and my younger friends played with our light-up guns and swords as we made forts and strategize to take each other out of the game.

I would always be the leader of my team since I knew how to make a good plan and tell the kids on my team how to make the forts and how to attack. Why I did science instead of the army then, simple. I wouldn't make it 5 seconds, and you need a good rank to command a platoon. I am only good with the strategizes, that is why I went to science, so I could strategize a formula to make a zombie-like virus for god knows why. For the fun of it, maybe at some point to watch the world burn, maybe it was just to have it and have the ability to say 'See, it is true, I have done it! I have made a zombie pandemic.' What's the point now though?

It took roughly 5 minutes, Kira with the help of Arishia was terrifying. Not to mention Detective Nelson was a badass when it came down to hand to hand combat. Then again, the infected could kick his ass as easily as he is kicking their asses. I don't want to think about it right now though, I just want to get out of this nightmare to come. "We got 3 out here." Detective Nelson called out, "We got 2 in here." Kira responded.

5 gunshots rang out throughout the bar, the people there were all passed out so, we didn't have to worry about that. As we regrouped in the main bar area, a group of officers entered. "You 5, your under arrest for the murder of countless civilians," one shouted. I turned towards him and nodded. "That'd be us in a way if they were only civilians. Yes some might have not even had criminal backgrounds, but they were all infected with something similar to rabies."

The officers look at me, each other, then me once more before looking us sternly in the eyes. "I'm not fucking around, this is past a serious offense you know that. Your all being taken in and don't even let me bother sayin the motto. You fools don't deserve to even hear it." The officers cuffed us up and drove on towards the station.

Once we got there, we were patted down and searched for any viable objects that would serve as weapons before throwing us in separate cells. We were put in cell blocks 3-7. I was in cellblock 4. "Who accompanies the other cell blocks?" I questioned a guard a few minutes later as they walked through to get to the other side of the hall. It was necessary to go through here, so it gave me lots of chances to ask questions if the guards would answer.

"What do you need" one finally asked with some restraint in his voice. He didn't wanna be here talking to me, so I was gonna make it quick. "Just tell me if those 2 madmen from the train incident are here." He scoffed at me and took out his baton batting it on the metal bars. "You call them madmen, but who's the one who killed up to 50 plus innocent people." Touche" I responded.

"Yes, they are here. Cell blocks 12 and 15. What, do you have a problem with them, or what?" I peaked this man's interest, good. "I created a viable zombie virus, to an extent. It won't bring back the dead entirely, but the dead will be husks. It's what it does to the living that's scary. Enhanced everything from strength to smell. One of those 2 men is the first one to escape, the second being his best man who also has the virus. You don't have to believe me, but Know I'm telling the truth."

His face was expressionless, it was saying 'I don't know whether to take it seriously or this guy is a good fucking liar. ' "Trust me, I'm not that good of a liar." I said, and that itself wasn't exactly a lie. There is a difference between lying and not giving away all your information. I just don't give all my information away just like that, I keep it because a lot of it is sensitive information. Too much for normal people to know, even Timmot. My most trusted ally as of right now.

"You need to kill them, if you kill them, the problem will be gone for good. No more bloodshed and no more people getting infected by the disease." The guard looked at me and laughed, "They are like you, behind bars." I looked at him, visually distraught. "You sure that he will be? They have increased ATP levels, thus meaning. They both have unlimited stamina and are stronger than a human should have been unless they were using large amounts of steroids."

The guard walked away hesitantly after hearing what I had to offer. We had to get out, and it all depends on what that guard will do. If he helps us, we can kill those 2 and probably stay in jail forever. Or he doesn't let us kill him, we get taken out at some point or we rot in here and die, or if worse comes to shove, those two come and infect the five of us. Whatever happens though, I just hope we still get our chance to fix it before it gets worse than it is.

If this gets worse, first it'll be the city, next the district, then the country, continent, and possibly the world. It wouldn't be unlikely, I mean this thing spreads faster than many things, and it is more dangerous and unpredictable than many other viruses with the way the host is made into an infected. And sadly, I must remind myself so far all we have to fix it... is death.

Nothing more, nothing less. Death will forever be the best cure. And none can say otherwise. No matter even if there's a cure.
