4 Chapter 4: Intense Training

Adrian remained quiet, ignoring the mocking and sarcastic glances cast at him as if he hadn't heard or seen anything.

Shutting everyone, Yamanbako immediately began the training.

She is in charge of basic combat training, and the training method is quite simple and rough.

There is no need to talk; they just need to group in pairs and keep on fighting.

This simple training method is also very much in line with most of the training in the world of One Piece.

This vast sea was full of monsters with impressive physique. No matter where you are, you can find remarkably powerful beings, with their fists and strength being their weapons of confrontation.

According to Adrian's memory, the intricate and exquisite techniques in One Piece are not highly valued. Very few pay attention to practicing techniques. After all, even the world's greatest swordsman only knows how to do basic attacks, right?!

The old witch assigned Adrian to an expressionless boy with black short hair. He's wearing a very simple brown linen outfit, nearly three meters tall, with muscular arms that look even thicker than his waist.

Oh, I didn't mention earlier, but thirteen-year-old Adrian is only one meter and five centimeters tall, a bona fide 'little guy', I wonder if he'll ever have the chance to grow to two meters in his lifetime...

Without a doubt, the formidable figure across is undoubtedly the witch's unintentionally 'arranged'. It's unclear whether the intention is to simply teach Adrian a lesson or to make him leave directly.

The expressionless boy remained silent even after the instructor signaled them.

The muscular boy violently slammed his right foot into the ground, sending countless dust particles flying, and pushed. In the blink of an eye, he covered a distance of nearly three meters, instantly appearing in front of Adrian. With the roaring sound of the wind, his muscular thighs and legs swept towards Adrian like a massive pillar tearing the waves.

"Although you are very fast, I can still see the movements clearly!"

Adrian's feet pushed the ground slightly, and his whole person seemed to drift backward like willow leaf. In "Basic Swordsmanship Practice," there were also many bladeless combat methods, which happened to be applicable at this moment.

'Agility' is Adrian's highest attribute. Although the muscular boy opposite him is very strong, his agility attribute may not necessarily be higher.

Hiss!

Seeing his leg kick being dodged, the muscular boy immediately swung a simple straight punch. The unremarkable fist, enhanced by a terrifying force, effortlessly tore through the air, giving the impression of an unavoidable force.

'Has the power attribute of this muscle freak already exceeded 20?'

Adrian once again agilely dodged, his power attribute couldn't be compared to the opponent at all. If he wanted to win, he had to approach it from other aspects.

Seizing the opportunity during the evasion of attacks, Adrian threw a universal skill, 'Detection', towards the opponent.

[Based on your level and attributes, you have received the following information.]

[Muscle Boy (?) ] (Red Name)

[Level: LV17]

[Attributes: Strength 21, Agility 10, Endurance ?, Intelligence ?, Charm ?, Luck ?]

[Abilities: ?]

[Danger Level: High]

"These combat attributes… is way too high for me now!"

When Adrian was in a daze, the muscular boy opposite him seized the opportunity. In just a blink of the eye, his fist hit Adrian's chest.

Under the muscular boy's terrifying force, Adrian's sternum was as fragile as paper. If it weren't for the other party withdrawing in time, he would have been lying in bed for at least another half a month.

However, even so, Adrian's sternum was still hammered, and he suffered considerable injuries. His face turned pale, and he was forced to retreat wildly.

"Cough, cough!" Adrian spat out a mouthful of blood, glaring coldly at the muscular boy.

'Truly worthy of being cultivated as a special agent from a young age, I can't resist at all!'

'I was already lacking combat experience, and I even spaced out in the midst of the battle, so taking this punch is well-deserved!'

After a brief rest of a dozen seconds, the battle continued.

The muscular boy seems tireless, relentlessly striking without pause.

Two hours had passed, but Adrian felt as if it had been two years. He was completely exhausted, every part of his body was aching—his chest, arms, thighs—there was not a single part that didn't hurt. Checking the panel below, he was shocked to find that his health had dropped by a quarter, and his stamina was dangerously close to running out.

'In comparison to these monsters, what I lack the most isn't strength or agility, but endurance!'

Exhausted and with his legs feeling weak, Adrian sat on the ground. He glanced at his arms, which were red and swollen, and then looked across at the seemingly unbothered muscular boy on the other side; he looked like he was just warming up.

The only thing that could comfort Adrian was the system prompt.

[Through the battle, you have completed several basic combat exercises, and the progress of learning [Basic Combat Techniques] is 5%.]

After the combat training ended, the witch turned and left. She was an outstanding assassin under the World Government, and the present combat confrontation seemed as childish as playing house to her, not sparking any interest whatsoever.

Approximately five minutes later, a thin and unfamiliar man walked in from outside the training ground. He had short brown hair and an ordinary appearance, the type that could easily blend into a crowd.

"I am your marksmanship instructor, Suzuki. Over the next month, I will be responsible for teaching you shooting skills," the thin man introduced himself briefly, gesturing towards a box at his feet. "Now, everyone come over and get a firearm from me. We will officially begin marksmanship training."

Adrian had never had any contact with firearms before. Moreover, he had just finished his hand-to-hand combat training, and both of his hands were swollen like pig trotters. He could already predict the outcome of his shooting training.

Adrian picked a decent-looking pistol from the box at the feet of Instructor Suzuki, walked to the shooting range, and lifted the gun with his sore arms. Shaking, he aimed at the target ten meters away.

As expected, out of ten bullets, the first seven missed the target directly. The next two hit the target of a teammate nearby. Only the last bullet, barely scraped the edge, leaving a scorched black mark on the periphery of the round straw target.

There were hardly any children with a skill level similar to Adrian, but no one stood out as particularly outstanding either.

The instructor Suzuki did not seem surprised by this result. Marksmanship was not highly valued in this world, and apart from ordinary people whose skills were insufficient, few experts chose to pursue this path.

CP9 was originally a place for cultivating elites, and practicing marksmanship was just a way to familiarize everyone with it.

Certainly, if there are exceptionally talented children, they can also be trained as snipers in the future.

Compared to breath-taking combat training, marksmanship training is relatively simple. Adrian has successfully initiated the skill progress bar for "Basic Marksmanship." Limited by poor physical condition and subpar accuracy, the progress bar for "Basic Marksmanship" is only at 2%, much lower than "Basic Combat Training."

The daily training routine for CP9 reserves is more challenging than Adrian had imagined. As an elite existence under the World Government, in addition to the basic combat and shooting skills, they also had to learn a series of other content such as navigation, tracking and anti-tracking, traps, codes, and decryption.

The cumbersome daily training seriously squeezed the swordsmanship practice, but fortunately, apart from training time, everything else falls under free time. Adrian has no intention of wasting any time; he needs to accumulate experience as soon as possible.

And then, wait for an appropriate opportunity.
