8 Crazy Doctor – Part two

When everyone called the doctor a crazy doctor, Young Jae thought he would be a mad man who happens to be a genius. But he never expected a man with a smooth voice to enter the room to check. What good having an excellent melodious voice when the words were rude and impolite. 

Young Jae suddenly felt someone grabbing him by his chin and move his face left and right. Being manhandled when one can't see was not pleasing. Young Jae struggled not to frown or let the unpleasant emotion shown in his half-hidden face.

"You sure this is idiotic twins' cousin. He looks way too skinny compared to those two hippopotami…" The doctor said to someone nearby.

The nurse who walked them to the room earlier responded, and Young Jae recognised the voice right away. "Seriously, doctor Ro…" the nurse didn't even bother to hide the annoyance towards her employer.

The old Moon Young Jae would have thrown a flower pot on the doctor for all the rude comment about his looks, but in the last four years, he learned how to bite down your anger and smile politely. The old Moon Young Jae died. He knew he was skinny and unhealthy.

But the doctor didn't know that staying healthy was a luxury and jumped to the conclusion on his own. Above all, he was insulting his strong cousins, who did nothing but help him.

"You do know that one of the hippopotami is standing right here…" Moon Chin Hae asked the doctor, but there were no annoyance or anger in the voice. Just the tone of teasing.

All Young Jae then heard was a sound of smack and a painful grunt. "Who even gave you the doctor license when you never hesitate to hurt patients relative…" Chin Hae complained and only for it to be followed by series of smacking.

All Young Jae wished for was his leg to cure miraculously so that he can run away from this smacking doctor.

"You think I am joking. If you idiotic hippopotami twin's breath heavily near this scrawny kid, he might fly off all the way to England without a passport, visa and a plane. What did you do with this kid? Did you steal all his food and starve him?!" The doctor bickered with Chin Hae.

"Even when Young Jae was in Moon mansion, there were times my step-mother starved him. You know how she is. I have told you before. After he was unofficially kicked out, I am sure he starved himself to save money. He refused my help too." Chin Hae responded to the doctor, who more sounded like the bullied sibling complaining to the parent.

Young Jae was struggling to understand the dynamics between his cousin and doctor. He suddenly felt a pinch on his non-existent cheek. "What kind of pride you have with people who care for you. It would be best if you let them help you when you need it. They do it out of love… Can useless pride you hold against your family fill your stomach or keep you warm?" The doctor pinched while scolding him.

Young Jae decided to give up. He is a mad man and not a genius doctor.

"Stop bullying my cousin, doctor Ro. He went through a lot of trauma. Don't add to it." Chin Hae told the doctor.

Young Jae felt his cheek got its freedom only to hear another smack.

"How many times do I have to tell you to call me crazy doctor and not doctor Ro… You unfilial impeccable… Let BB come. I will complain to him that his unfilial hoobae bullies me and hurts my feeling. See how I tell him about you not respecting me…" the crazy doctor said as if he genuinely got bullied.

Young Jae couldn't help but scoff at the madman's shamelessness.

The crazy doctor who heard the scoff narrowed his eyes at Young Jae and Chin Hae sighed in defeat. "Don't bully my cousin. He doesn't know about you crazy doctor. He a patient."

Chin Hae tried to save his cousin from the doctor who was planning to bully the cousin until he cries and asks for forgiveness.

"Ah… you were right. He is patient. I will wait for a week. When he is a little better, I will make him pay for scoffing at me… How dare he bully me?" the crazy doctor spoke his logic.

Everyone in the room rolled their eyes at his exaggeration and blatant lie.

"Since you will be my patient, let me introduce myself first. I am a crazy doctor Ro. You can call me Crazy doctor for short." the doctor said as if there were no bantering and bickering that happened a couple of seconds ago.

"I am Moon Young Jae. I am 20 years old. Will be turning 21 in two months" Young Jae tried to put his opinion about the doctor aside and attempted to be civil with doctor Ro. After all, as he prefers to be called, the crazy doctor was respected by his cousins, and they want him to be his doctor.

"You shouldn't lie to the doctor. You look like a 16-year-old kid. You have a babyface, tiny, thin and weak body to be 20-year-old." The crazy doctor chided him.

"He is not lying. He grew up in Moon mansion till he was 17. What could you expect from the Moon family's abuse if not malnourishment and slow growth?" Chin Hae spoke as if it was nothing.

But it made Young Jae uncomfortable. If anyone has noticed it, they completely ignored it. The awkward silence surrounded them for a long time.

Young Jae decided to break this awkwardness as he couldn't handle it above all the unproductive talk. "I want to ask you something, doctor? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I wonder why you want us to call you a crazy doctor?"

A soft laugh could be heard from the doctor before he gave his explanation. It was one of my favourite things to talk about. But the nurse sighed tiredly as she knew what was coming. "I am crazy about too many things. Like the dragonfly, moth, snakes, earthworm, sparrow, hibiscus, shark, crocodile, making medicines, herbs, spicy food… and… and… see I have a long list. I can't tell everything you as it is huge. I am crazy about all of it. I can't add only one thing before my name from the list as it would be unfair to the other things I am equally crazy about. So, I added crazy in front of my name to be fair to everything I am crazy about." Hearing the crazy doctor's word Young Jae wanted to bang his concussed head on the wall and question what his cousins got himself into.

But the doctor continued. "Do you know what I am crazy about recently? It is the detached retina. I am so fascinated by it. You would be my first ever patient for me to deal with detached retina.. that too in both eyes. The first patient for me to deal with anything related to the eyes. I am super excited." The excitement in the crazy doctor's voice could not be hidden.

Young Jae wanted to cry to his cousin and say he didn't want to be treated anymore. The horror Young Jae felt could not be described through words, but his body language expressed it… with the mouth hung open, disbelief written on the half-visible face drained of blood, and entire body shivered in fear.
