15 A call with Min Min

Young Jae smiled silently when baby-doll succeeded in her promise. Kang Chin Mae called his twin Chin Hae and requested him to come to the hospital to see the child. Young Jae was curious to know what she did that within an hour, and there was a call. Chin Hae agreed right away without showing any ego or resistance. He was brimming with joy. Chin Hae decided to call Min Min's number while cleaning the dishes after they were done with lunch.

Young Jae was disappointed that Min Min didn't make their lunch, and it was a cook from Chin Hae's place. Nonetheless, it was delicious. Compared to Min Min, it lacked for sure.

In order to talk better and save more time, the phone was on speaker as Chin Hae finishes the chores.

Young Jae was curious about their relationship and how they speak with each other. So he couldn't help but listen to the call. He soothed himself that he was not eavesdropping and they were talking openly as the call was on speaker.

After a few rings, the call went through. A very soft and panicked voice could be heard through the phone.

"You and your timing… wait for a minute..." the panicked husky voice scolded Chin Hae.

Chin Hae just chuckled as a response and waited till he gets a word from the opposite side of the call.

Before a word, they heard a deep breath which sounded like a relief.

"I was in the ward with sister-in-law. She and our somsatang were sleeping peacefully, and the phone screamed as you called..." the voice of Min Min could be heard finely now. It was not soft like when he spoke in the low voice. His voice was smooth and good to hear as it was mature and not too loud. He sounded like a k-pop idol. Young Jae bet that Min Min have the voice to become an idol. After hearing the voice, Young Jae was curious if this Min Min looks like an idol too. But he can't see him anytime soon. With a sigh, he decided to hear the call over.

"I am sorry. It might be better if your ring tone is not freaking metal music with someone screaming in the background that wakes everyone in a kilometre distance… Wait... did you call our nephew cotton candy?" Chin Hae was not amused at the nickname.

"Hey… Metal music is the best… I will never change my ringtone for anything in the world..." Min Min said stubbornly.

Chin Hae knew there was no point in arguing with his atrocious metal music ring tone while someone screaming in the name of singing. Chin Hae would never understand Min Min's love for them either. But he decided to focus on the important question. "Leave it. I have an important question. Did you actually name our nephew, somsatang, as in cotton candy?"

"Well… he looks like one. Pink, fluffy, cute and sweet but little wrinkly. I really wish he is not as notorious as us..." Min Min said in a pleasant tone with so much adoration that Chin Hae agreed to the nickname. He also wished their nephew to be less notorious. But unfortunately, he grew up to be a tornado that flips the world upside down and listens to only a handful of people.

"Where is baby-doll and Chin Mae?" Chin Hae asked him casually while scrapping the dried rice off the bowl with the spoon.

"Baby-doll went to get more comfortable clothes for sister-in-law. Chin Mae Hyung went to meet the doctor and to get prescription and timings." the voice said, and Young Jae wanted to hear the soothing voice.

"Is everything okay?" Chin Hae panicked hearing prescription.

"Everything is okay. Prescription regarding vaccination and at what age which vaccination should be given. Stop overthinking idiot." Min Min scolded Chin Hae.

Young Jae was curious as he has never seen his cousin over-think. They didn't know each other in the past, but things were not the same between them anymore. Young Jae started to understand his cousin. Chin Hae never came across like an over-thinking type. At least to him. So Young Jae frowned at it.

"Can't help it. You know I am a worrywart." Chin Hae defended himself only to get a soft laugh as a response.

The laugh sent goosebumps to Young Jae. An unknown fear ran through his body. The interest he had in the stranger was not something to overlook. He felt safe in the laugh at the same an unknown fear gripped him. Young Jae shakes his head to get it out of his irrational thinking. It was never possible to feel safe and threatened at the same time, especially with a stranger…

"Kang Chin Mae asked me to come over to see our nephew. Can you take care of my cousin tonight? I will come over in the morning after meeting the little one and sister-in-law today evening." Chin Hae asked eagerly. But there was dead silence on the other side for a few minutes.

Young Jae started to get worried. Is this Min Min going to disagree with his cousin's plan? How could he? If Min Min was in front of them, and Young Jae wouldn't hesitate to beat him up for denying his cousin to meet his nephew. Young Jae didn't knew that even in his healthy state he could never ever lay a hand on Min Min... the hell-hound...

Young Jae was shaken from a cold voice. "Tell me you are joking Chin Hae Hyung. "

"Min Min… I…." Chin Hae was interrupted even before he explains anything.

The authoritative voice sent a shiver to the cousins. One knew he screwed up and for the other, all he felt was his heart thumping like how it was when he ran a marathon with his non-athletic body.

"You will listen to me without interruption." It was an order that demanded silence and attention.

"You are not going to visit our nephew, like colleague visiting my godson. You are his uncle, and I expect you to spend more time with him when you meet him first. But I don't want to leave him yet. How about I stay here tonight and look after sister-in-law and our little somsatang? You can come tomorrow morning and spend the entire day with our nephew. Also, night if it is possible for you." Min Min told him. Even though he word it like a suggestion, the tone declared finality. There was no option of bargaining.

"Min Min… But Kang Chin Mae wouldn't like it..." Chin Hae tried to explain.

"Well… then he can show his opinion up his arrogant ass. Sister-in-law will agree with the plan. No one gets to have a say in who visits my godson's but his mother. If Chin Mae feels otherwise, then he can try talking to his wife. I would like to see him get kicked by her again. If Chin Mae wants to dictate and keep you away from our the little somsatang, then my fists might have a long, painful talk with his face. Get it into your head." Min Min said it and didn't give a chance for any refusal.

"Fine..." Chin Hae accepted as he was left with no choice, but the gratitude was undeniably there.

Young Jae's opinion about Min Min improved a lot in a few minutes.

Chin Hae was humming and dancing the entire evening in happiness, and Young Jae wanted to meet their nephew too. Knowing the reality of his situation and not knowing what Kang Chin Mae thought about him as he was from Moon family, he hesitated to ask. He forced down the wish as he decided to be happy for his Chin Hae Hyung at the moment.
