59 Rising (XVII)

For a while, Hui Lan could begin to feel the weariness in her body taking over her.

She stopped practising and went over to take the book from where it was standing on the root of the tree.

Hui Lan lifted the book into her hands like a good student and made her way into the woods that was in front of her.

...It would be nice to just lie down and read this book.

She looked around in search for a perfect tree to sit on.

Then, in the middle of the woods, there was a slightly bent tree that was rather shallow which had caught her eyes. It was just perfect for her to climb on top of it easily without having to use too much strength.

Hui Lan soon began climbing on the tree and went ahead for a nice big branch for herself to lie on. This tree grew as if it was meant for someone to lie on top of it.

Nevertheless, she did not think much about it and went for the highest branch to get a better view of the starry sky.

Upon arriving on top of the tree, Hui Lan made herself comfy and laid her back onto the branch softly. She placed one of her arms to support her head. Meanwhile, her long hair was dangling in the air over the branch that Hui Lan was lying on.

...There, she thought to herself.

She gazed up at the sky that had already gotten dark and the stars were slowly appearing in the distance. Yet, there were still quite a few stars beaming high in the night sky.

Hui Lan stared at the north star that was shining brightly above her with the book in her arms.

...Hm...it was a loner like her huh?

Where Hui Lan was, the sky was as if brought closer to her and it was as almost as if she could reach it.

...It was funny how we would always think of reaching up into the sky so came the space crafts. However, we still could not reach the end of it...what a world we live in ah.

After enjoying the view to her heart's content, Hui Lan finally lifted up the book to read again.

As Hui Lan opened the book, she began to read furthermore into the book.

These moves, they were somehow not fighting moves, yet every movement was just as dangerous as any other fighting moves, but at the same time, the practitioner would have to be as smooth as a dancer.

Somehow, the more she read it, the more she could see how these moves were meant for moving fast.

The way they were designed to be sharp like a sword was because it was there to equip the practitioner with any kind of weapons and any attacks. All these figures, they were all in black cloudy suits looking as if they were night rangers.

Hui Lan turned back to the first page of the book which was the only page in this book that had any letters.

...Yin Ying...could these be called the Yin Ying move?

...Most likely, or could it be the writer?

...Nevertheless, she felt very much connected to these moves and pretty much liked them.

...Sigh, but it would definitely need to take some time ah.

Hui Lan placed the book on her belly and released both of her arms along with the space where there were no branches.

...Ha, it was good to have used some of my strength in a long time. When she was in the palace, she would always have to be wary of that Emperor, tch.

...Here, she could finally breathe…even though these masters would from time to time bully her. Moreover, this was the only place where she had found another piece of the Rui Ren.

...Rui Ren? It could not be that this place was it?

….Sigh, she'll find her way to see whether this place was the Rui Ren or not.

By now more stars were coming out for her to see. There weren't any bright lights in this garden, so she could see the stars much better than when she was in the city.

All she had to do was wait for Feng Furen to call for her to eat, but her eyes no longer had the strength to keep itself open. Hence, slowly, Hui Lan's weary body gently fell into a sweet slumber.

She was rather carefree to have slept alone on top of a tree branch without worrying for her life. Yet, she simply fell asleep.

The stars were high in the sky and beneath the sky, a beauty was sleeping soundly drifting into her own dreamland.

Feng Furen walked looking slightly worried to call Hui Lan to eat, but all she could see was the young lady sleeping on top of the tree branch. The elder halted in her place and her frown was slightly relaxed before deciding for the young lady to get some sleep first.

...She must have been very tired. Food can wait, sleep first if she wants.

...Tomorrow, I'll let her drink some medicine to help her recover…sigh, she had never seen Hui Lan this weak before in front of her.

...However, slowly but surely, Hui Lan would be able to recover to better health or maybe even better.

Before she had come to Hui Lan, there had been a report of a mysterious death. The dead body was completely melted into dust and no other traces were left but blood. This kind of killing, she knew fair well.

...It had not been a full day and that person had already gone out killing, truly a vengeful spirit…

Nevertheless, that person must be still weak for she could only bear to kill one...if she was her true self...she would have slaughtered everyone.

...It's just that that person would not have thought that Hui Lan had come from the future either…

It should be alright for now, that person might be targeting her first, so Hui Lan would have some time to grow and become stronger. For now, she would lead them to focus on her rather than Hui Lan...that should be alright…

With heavy steps, Feng Furen left Hui Lan to sleep on the tree branch. This garden had been sealed off from the outside, only those from this place could enter, so she was not worried.

Moreover, there were no animals in here, not even any insects for none of them could get in.

As Feng Furen stepped beyond the doors, she closed the door to keep some of the bright light from the main hall away from Hui Lan and went inside her separate chamber.

However, little did Feng Furen know that tonight, there would be a visitor to their place.

A click and swoosh sounds came from the seal above the garden and descending from the night sky, was a person in silver robes that shimmered when any light hit his robes.

The newcomer had a wide hat on as he descended gracefully from the sky. He entered in like a young master out of a forest of bamboo trees.

However, upon flying down from the sky, his eyes had caught onto a stranger sleeping on his favourite tree.

From afar the stranger had dark colour robes worn and was dressed like a man, but upon flying closer...the person's features had looked too soft to be a man.

The young master in his silver robes landed soundlessly on another branch close to the person sleeping.

Only then did he see the person's face carefully.

...Oh? It was her?

...The young lady from this young master's rooftop, what was she doing here?

...Moreover, she was sleeping on his favourite tree which slightly a thorn in his eyes ah.

The young master crossed his hands in front of him, why on earth could she be here?

...Once again, she was being careless and sleeping in the air alone, tut tut.

Just as the young master was telling Hui Lan off in his mind, Hui Lan who was in her deep sleep decided to switch sides, but on her side, there was nothing but air.

Hence, after turning around, Hui Lan's body that had been on a solid tree branch was now descending down onto the ground.

...Sigh, see?

The young master jumped down from his tree branch and swiftly caught Hui Lan wrapped up in his arms like a princess before landing on the ground.

Her landing was soft, so her sleep was not disturbed in the slightest bit. It was just that her book had another landing.

Now, the beauty was not lying on the slight rough tree branch but had landed into someone's warm arms.

The lady seemed to want to take advantage of her warm sleep and drew closer into the warmth.

Meanwhile, the young master looked down at the person in his arm who was sleeping very soundly.

...Truly shameless.

Nevertheless, the young master did not keep her in his arms for long and carefully placed her down on the big roots of the tree that she had fallen from.

He set her in a good position to sleep and was just about to leave when her head began tilting sideways. His fast reflex quickly caught her head and gently, he positioned her head to rest on the tree.

...There, he thought to himself.

The young master did not linger on for long and got up to his full height. As he turned around, he did not know how to describe what had just happened.

Since when had he become like a servant ah?

...If it was other times, he would not have bothered in someone's business or lent a hand to someone.

...Hm, if he had ever crossed paths with this person the next time, he would make sure to collect something...he couldn't just keep losing right?

Nevertheless, he was here for something, this person...it would be better if we did not meet again...his pride would not be damaged anymore, tut tut.
