76 Down to Business (X)

"Who are you!?" The middle aged man demanded.

With the sword already on Hui Lan's neck, Su Jou brought out his sword with its sheath but before he could even reach the middle aged man, a few more swords were placed on him.

Hui Lan glanced over to the corner of her eyes and spoke, "It's alright." She then turned to look at the middle aged man in front of her, "I'm a doctor."

However, the middle aged man quickly refuted, "Why is it that we have never seen you before?"

...That question...hm, how was she supposed to answer that? That she was an Empress?

"I came from a faraway place, but from what I see, your daughter has been poisoned for a long time and she needs an antidote fast." Hui Lan spoke carefully. In the corner of her eyes, she could see the middle aged lady had already brought her daughter into another room followed by a few young maids.

Once again, the middle aged man refuted, "We have our own doctors and do not need your help. However, there is one problem, you are not part of our Jing Ke street, but you know of the real identity of Mo-er...I would have to cut your tongue before you leave…"

Hui Lan was speechless, "What kind of doctors do you have, may I ask? Your daughter has not in the slightest bit recovered and it seems the poison is seeping through into her system that with just receiving a slight shock, the poison begins to react right away. It seems, whatever doctor you have or whatever medicine you have, it is not working."

The middle aged man's eyes grew furious and just when he was about to speak, the middle aged lady came outside, "Bring the young gentlemen in first. If he cannot help her, then you can kill him."

Having heard his wife, the middle aged man squinted his eyes at Hui Lan before slowly lowering his sword, "My wife has saved you for now, but if you fail, it would be the end of your life."

Hui Lan raised her brows, "You wife saved your daughter, not me. Hmph!" She then walked forward towards the direction the little girl had gone.

However, Su Jou was blocked by other people behind her.

As Su Jou took a step forward and was stopped by the others, Hui Lan turned around and reassured him, "I'll be back soon. Stay where you are."

To that, Su Jou could only return to the same spot and stood firmly on guard.

The middle aged man then followed along with the young master in the dark purple robes.

After Hui Lan had made her way inside, it was another big room and in the middle, there was a young figure sleeping on the bed.

...Sigh, hang in there little girl.

She then quickly went ahead and sat beside the young girl and began to carefully examine the girl's pulse and other signs of the poison.

An elder person stood beside the bed on the other side in white robes and was staring intensely at Hui Lan's every movement.

Hui Lan slowly looked up, "Are you going to keep staring at me? Where is your equipment?"

However, the elder in the white robes did not speak. Hui Lan looked behind the other person and had to get up and search for a small knife and a bowl.

After getting it, she went over and drew some blood out from the little girl's finger.

Just as the knife was going to touch on the little girl's finger, the little girl's mother came to stand beside Hui Lan.

...Hm, since she was a stranger, none of them would trust her.

"I'm going to take some blood out so that I can see if the temporary medicine I have will help her." Hearing what the young master in his purple said, both of them turned to look at the elder in white who soon nodded.

Seeing that no one refused her, Hui Lan acted fast and began her procedure.

Hui Lan mixed the girl's slightly black blood with a drop of the dragon's blood that she had.

At first, nothing happened, but after a few moments, the blood slowly changed it's colour and grew a much healthier colour. Even the middle aged lady was surprised by the slight changes.

...Hm, but it was a shame, it seemed whatever poison was in this little girl's blood was still quite persistent.

There were a few drops left in Hui Lan's small bottle, but she did not mind and gently poured the contents in the little girl's lips. Slowly was it, and drop by drop the liquid began to flow through the little girl's neck.

As if a miracle was happening in front of their eyes, the little girl's complexion began to slowly grow better and better. Her cheeks were no longer pale and had some rosy colour to it.

Seeing what was happening, Hui Lan's worried heart began to settle.

She checked the little girl's pulse one more time just to make sure.

...The little girl's pulse was beating much better than before.

It was at that time, the elder in white took a few steps forward and also checked on the little girl's pulse. His grim face turned from relief to serious again.

"Your daughter-" Hui Lan turned to the little girl's parents but they were gone.

The elder was the only person left and spoke, "Mo-er isn't their daughter...they are her aunt and uncle, so they do not quite know what to do when Mo-er is hurt."

Hui Lan turned back to the elder, "Ah? Not her parents?"

The elder in white robes nodded before going to a seat beside the bed, "Hm, Mo-er's parents have already passed on." After speaking, the elder brought a wooden walking stick to hold in front of him.

"Oh." Hui Lan became quiet as she thought of the little girl.

"Your bracelet looks very beautiful, young master...?"

Hui Lan looked down at her jade bracelet that was revealed on her wrist. Aiya, did she already blow her own cover? Nevertheless, she quickly responded, "It was a gift from a beautiful lady as well." Hui Lan smiled softly before looking up, "Call me young master Hong. Elder and you are?"

All of a sudden, the elder began laughing, "Ho ho ho, no one would dare to ask my name, but you do? However, since you dare ask, this elder also dares to answer you. I am Master Mo Chang, Mo Li's grandfather and the owner of this place."

Hui Lan was slightly taken aback when he had fully introduced himself to her.

"You said you came from afar, this elder wonders where?"

...Faraway...from the future, Hui Lan answered in her mind.

Master Mo patiently waited and did not speak anything, but he was already thinking about the person in front of him.

...Could this person be the person he was waiting for…?

...The one from the future...who will cure my granddaughter?

"Faraway." Hui Lan answered before getting up, "Since Mo Li is getting better, I will leave first then. Her poison…"

Before Hui Lan could finish her words, the elder spoke, "Her poison can only be healed by you...the one from the future…?"

Hui Lan eyes became wide… "How…?"

Master Mo smiled, "So you really are from the future…"

"How did you know!?" Hui Lan became alert.

"How I know is not important, young master Hong, but what will happen from now onwards is what should be discussed. First, please sit down first, there are a lot of things that I must talk with you."

Hui Lan slowly sat down.

"I have been waiting for you or more like there are many who have been waiting for you, you just have not found them yet." Master Mo began, "Mo Li's poison was passed through from her mother who had been poisoned a long time ago and when Mo Li was still in her mother's womb it was passed on without anyone knowing. Her mother first passed away and followed by her father... Someone once told me that a person from the future could heal this poison, we've waited and now you are here." Master Mo explained his background.

Slowly, Master Mo got up from his seat and walked over to the young master. He brought out a small green jade token with a Jasmine flower carved onto it, "My daughter wanted to give this to you when Mo Li's saviour arrived. Hm, welcome into our Mo folks."

"You are giving this to me…?" Hui Lan got up and questioned.

"That was my daughter's last wish. Keep this token and whenever you need help, we will be there when the Jasmine flower is pressed, we will be alerted of your danger." Master Mo explained.

Seeing such, Hui Lan could not take it, "I cannot take it, Mo Li is not yet healed. The poison is still in her, this token, we can discuss later. I must leave first to see what I can do and will return."

Master Mo's impression of the young master grew, such a righteous young lad, "That is the more you should take it, now. You see, no one has ever been able to know what was wrong with my granddaughter, not even the Royal Physician."

"Royal Physician came here?" Hui Lan was surprised.

"Yes, is there anything…?" Master Mo tilted his head.

"Oh, no no. There's nothing." Hui Lan quickly brushed the topic away.

"Hm, then please take this token." Master Mo politely passed it over to Hui Lan once again.

Seeing that there was no way out, Hui Lan cupped her hands and took it from the elder, "I will take care of it well."

"Ho ho ho, we will take care of you." Master Mo went around and went back to sit down, "You said you have to leave first, go on your way then. After this, I can take care of Mo-er. You are welcome to return any time, just show that token."

Hui Lan bowed in respect, "I will be back." With that, she turned around to leave with a heavy heart.

Master Mo watched as the young master Hong left.

...Sigh, these days, did all the young ladies like to dress up as boys?

...It has been such a long time, at last, their hope had arrived...

...

Evening

"Hello sir, how may I help you?" The Physician of the medicine house spoke up as he saw a customer walk in.

The customer had a wide hat and was dressed in dark green robes as he made his way in.

Once the door was closed, the customer looked up through his hat.

"Third prince?" was the first thing that came out through his lips.

On the other hand, the Physician who had made his way over to his customer halted in his spot, "Feng Furen?"

Feng Furen slowly smiled, "So, it really is you, third prince."

The third prince or physician Jin had a bad feeling creeping up his neck. Could it be…?

While the third prince was in his own thoughts, Feng Furen was the first to speak, "I haven't had enough time to speak to you since the other day." The elder took a small pause before speaking, "You've grown up a lot." She could still remember seeing this little boy run around along with the rest of the princes.

...Seeing him, memories could not help but ring back to her.

However, before the Royal Physician Jin could say anything, another figure came inside the room.

It was none other than the young master from yesterday and his two followers.

"Oh? Niang, you're already here? Well, that is good. We can start right away." Hui Lan smiled.

"Start...start what?" Physician Jin became worried.
