6 The Rules of Guilds

"Aster!"

A groan was the own noise that answered her following her call.

"Come on, it's time to go." She pestered, walking up and started to shake his shoulders.

Aster rolled out of bed and followed behind Lilith who was waiting by the door. Neither of them spoke as they made their way from the roughly made small house in the forest to the open town.

It was rustic and old-fashioned but had a friendly exterior with every person. With his fit and tall stature, in comparison to others in the town, he seemed like a bodyguard to Lilith who was smiling at everyone they passed. Aster only took in his surroundings without comment, not helping the title bestowed upon him.

The two wordlessly made their way to the town hall with them both walking straight in and up to the lady at the help desk.

"Excuse me miss? What would we need to do to start a sanctioned guild?" Lilith directly asked not, likely knowing Aster's willingness would only last so long.

"Are you sure you're old enough to start a guild, young lady?" 'In which life? I would think if I had my two lifetimes together I'll be old enough.'

Lilith shook her head in response, "No I'm likely not. It is never too young to start working on your dream though."

"There aren't many rules in the first place. So shouldn't be a problem for me to explain them to you." She looked around the hall seeing if anyone else was waiting, to which she found none.

"The guildmaster must have a magic level above 4 or fighter's equivalent.

The Guildhall must pay taxes similar to a company.

There must be at least three members, excluding the guildmaster.

Must follow the rules set up by the council to be a light guild:

No senseless murders.

No taboo magic practices.

Etc.

Not really anything more than that. Sorry, I can't be of more help."

Lilith thanked her and bowed before exiting. Aster with a yawn sluggishly followed.

"Now we have a goal! Let's work hard so we meet it together."

"It's a long way away," Aster commented his eyes watching the morning sky.

Lilith turned back and grabbed his hand his eyes brightly looking up at him with an equally bright smile, "We'll be there together!"
