4 Chapter Four

The next morning Alex's alarm goes off. She gets up and turns it off. "Peyton?" Peyton turns around in Alex's computer chair. "Over here babe." Alex smiles and gets up. She sits down on Peyton's lap. "I thought you'd gone." Peyton wraps their arms around Alex's back. "I did but that was an hour ago. I went home to shower and change and grab my bag." Alex kisses Peyton softly. "I'm gonna shower." Peyton nods. "I'll be here." Alex kisses Peyton again and then goes to shower. Eric comes in the room. "She's in the shower." Eric nods. "Alright. So you two really a thing now?" Peyton looks up at Eric seriously. Eric backs up and puts his hands in the air. "Sorry. Not my business." Peyton chuckles. "Dude relax. I know you're just looking out for her. So am I." Alex comes out. "I'll take my leave." "Hey Eric." Eric turns. "Yeah?" "You should try out for the football team. The tryouts are at lunch today." Eric smiles. "Thanks." Eric leaves. Alex gets dressed and puts on some make up. Peyton comes over and wraps their arms around Alex's stomach and lays their chin on Alex's shoulder. "Why do you do that to yourself?" "I want to look beautiful." "But you are beautiful. Without the make up." Alex kisses Peyton's cheek and then finishes putting on her mascara. After Alex grabs her purse her and Peyton go downstairs for breakfast. Alex has a bowl of cereal. "Aren't you eating?" Peyton shrugs. "Not hungry." Alex smirks. "Not for this food right?" Peyton chuckles. "Right." Alex finishes her cereal and washes her bowl and spoon. She then goes upstairs to brush her teeth. After that the two leave for school. At the school. Peyton high fives their friends. Alex stops at her locker with Peyton. "So since football tryouts are at lunch today we're gonna have to see each other after." Alex pouts. "Why do you have to be there?" "Cuz I'm the leader of the team." Alex closes her locker. "Well then we better find someone for you to snack on." Alex and Peyton roam the halls. "You know what? I know just the person. On Friday there was a girl who came up to me and started getting up in my face and telling me to back off you." Peyton shakes their head. "Was it Ashley?" Alex shakes her head. "Taylar." Peyton smiles. "Oh I've always wanted to taste her. She smells amazing." Alex giggles and kisses Peyton's cheek. "Go get her tiger." Peyton finds Taylar and drags her into the bathroom. Alex follows. "Don't kill her now." Peyton slows down their drinking and then pulls away. Taylar collapses onto the floor. Alex looks at Peyton seriously. Peyton shrugs. "What she deserved it." Alex shakes her head and leaves with Peyton following. The two walk to Alex's class. "I'll see you after." Alex nods. The two kiss. Peyton walks to their class and sits down. Peyton pays attention to the lesson. The teacher hands out the assignment for the period and Peyton finishes it quickly. Peyton hands in their work. The teacher smiles and nods her head towards the door. "Go on." Peyton smiles and leaves. They lean against the wall by the door to Alex's class. The teacher notices and summons Peyton over. Peyton leans over the desk. "Yes?" "I was just curious. Is Alex your mate?" Peyton looks shocked at the teacher. "What do you mean by that?" "You know what I mean." Peyton smiles while looking over at Alex. "Yes." "Why haven't you told her yet?" Peyton looks back at the teacher. "Cuz I don't want her to feel rushed too much." Seana stands up and sits on the edge of her desk. "I see. Well you know instead of standing outside the classroom you could sit next to her." Peyton smiles. They sit at the back of the class but not before running their finger along Alex's arm. Alex looks at Peyton. They wink. Alex giggles and goes back to work. Alex finishes her work and hands it in. She then sits back down and takes out her phone.

Alex- What are you doing?

StonerGod497- Watching over you like I used to

Alex- Why?

StonerGod497- I told you already. I'm protective of you

Alex- I get that but why?

StonerGod497- I can't tell you

Alex- Okay. I'll leave it. For now

Peyton chuckles. Peyton's phone starts to ring.

"Y'ello." "Yo it's Kara. Something's going on with Lucky. I need you right now." "I'm on my way."

The call ends. Peyton stands up and kisses Alex's head before leaving. Alex looks confused. Peyton runs to their car and gets in quickly. They drive off super fast. At Kara's. "Where is he?" Kara comes over. "He's back here." Peyton follows Kara. Lucky is whining. Peyton kneels down. "Hey buddy. What's wrong? Tell me." Lucky whines and whimpers. Peyton nods. "I see. Go on." Lucky continues to whine and then barks. Peyton looks worried. "But Alex did too. She's okay." Lucky barks. Peyton nods. "Okay. Okay." Peyton bites their wrist and lets Lucky lick their wrist. As Peyton is about to get in the car Lucky starts barking. Peyton's eyes go wide and tears start running down their face. "No." Peyton gets in the car quickly and Lucky jumps in the front passenger seat. He sits. Peyton drives off. Kara just looks confused. Peyton and Lucky run down the school hallways until they get to Alex's classroom. Lucky runs up to Seana and starts barking. Seana gasps. "Alex you're free to leave." Alex looks confused but leaves with Lucky and Peyton. Once outside Peyton howls. A few seconds later. "Is it true?" Peyton nods. "It's true. You guys take my car and I'll meet you at the hospital." Peyton tosses the keys to Ryan Miller. He catches them and him and the others get in the car with Lucky following. They drive off. Peyton lifts Alex up and runs to the hospital. "What's going on?" "Remember that guy I killed at the party?" Alex nods. "Yeah what about him?" "He was sick. Like really sick. Since me and my pack are already dead the disease didn't affect us." "But it infected me." Peyton nods. "And Kara's dog Lucky. He's okay but I can't save you with my blood like I did with him." "Why not?" "I was too late. It's already killing you. That pain you feel in your stomach right now is your stomach literally dissolving." Peyton runs into the building and Ryan runs up to them with a nurse following close behind. "I just got word. We'll take good care of her." The nurse takes Alex from Peyton and puts her down on a stretcher. They start hooking up IV's with all sorts of medication to help Alex's body stop attacking itself. The nurse from before comes up to Peyton. "I've never seen or heard of this before. Have you?" Peyton's face starts dripping with tears. "Sadly yes. Alex's father." The nurse puts their hand on Peyton's shoulder. "Hang in there." Peyton smiles and nods and wipes their face. "Thanks Kendra." Kendra walks off. Ryan comes over. Peyton cries on his shoulder. Ryan rubs Peyton's back. "I know. I'm here. I gotcha." Peyton wraps their arms around Ryan tighter. "I can't lose her. I'll die before I lose her." Peyton pulls away. "I gotta call Eric and Justine." Ryan puts his hands on Peyton's shoulders. "Relax. I already did that. They should here any minute." As if on cue. "Where is she?" Peyton points to a room across the hall. Eric and Justine walk in. They both hug Alex. Justine leaves the room. "Why aren't you in there? Get in there." Peyton shakes their head. "I can't do it." "She needs you." Peyton starts crying. "I can't go through it again." Justine starts tearing up. "I know you can't but you have to. She needs you. I need you." Peyton hesitates. Justine offers her hand. Peyton starts backing away. "I'm sorry Justine. I can't. I just can't." Peyton turns around and runs off. "Peyton!" Peyton runs into the forest next to the hospital and roars. They start tearing off their clothes and fully shift. Peyton runs around in the woods for miles and miles. They roar every so often. After a few hours Peyton stops and breaks down after falling to their knees. Peyton scream roars. They start crying shortly after shifting back. Shortly after they feel hands wrap around them. Peyton turns to see it was their brother. "I can feel your pain P. Literally." Peyton sits down and their brother sits next to them with their arm over their shoulder. "I can't save her." Aaron huffs. "Why not?" Peyton wiped their nose with their arm. "I was too late. It had already started killing her. It's only a matter of time now." Aaron looks at Peyton. "You know there's another way." Peyton looks at Aaron seriously. "You're seriously suggesting I turn her?" Aaron shrugs. "Why not?" "Because she's happy with her life now. Imagine what she'll feel when her life changes. She'll never forgive me." Aaron sighs. "Well you don't know until you ask." Peyton shakes their head. "I can't. I won't do it. Not for her. Not for me." Peyton stands up. "I just gotta be by her side until she dies. Then I'll die too." Aaron stands up as well. "Dude you can't. They won't just kill you right off the bat. They'll torture you first." "It's worth it. She's worth it." Peyton runs back towards the hospital. Aaron follows. As soon as they get into the hospital. "It's no way to go." Peyton releases Aaron's grip from their wrist. "It's just gonna have to be." Peyton walks into Alex's room and sits in a chair by her side and holds her hand. Peyton looks at Aaron. "It's going to happen eventually anyways." Aaron sighs. Justine and Eric look confused. "What's going on?" Peyton shrugs. "Nothing." "Nothing. They're just being an idiot." Peyton shakes their head and leans back in the chair while still holding Alex's hand. "I'm ready dude. I've been around for a lot longer than anyone in this building. Hell anybody in this fucking country for that matter. So have you." Aaron sighs and walks off. Peyton looks over at Justine. "Sup?" Justine shrugs. "I don't get you two sometimes." Peyton chuckles. "That's good. You're not supposed to." A few hours go by. Alex wakes up and starts screaming in pain. Kendra comes in and ups the dosage of the morphine. Alex relaxes. Alex looks over at Peyton whose looking worried. "Stop worrying. I'm gonna be fine." Peyton smiles and nods. Alex falls asleep again. Peyton plugs in their phone next to the hospital bed and then goes to sleep. A week before Peyton's birthday. Alex looks over at Peyton and smiles. "Hey." Peyton puts down their book and holds onto Alex's hand. "Hey. How you feeling?" Alex shrugs. "So so. Better than yesterday that's for sure. How'd your first game of the season go?" Peyton sits on the edge of the chair and lays their head in Alex's lap. Alex runs her fingers through Peyton's short hair. "That bad huh?" Peyton hums. "Nah it was just a long tough one. We won at least." Alex starts massaging Peyton's neck. Peyton sits up after awhile. "Come here." Peyton looks confused. "Where?" Alex pats the bed. "Come. Lay down." Peyton stands up and then lays down between Alex's legs. Alex starts massaging Peyton's head and down their neck and to their shoulders. Alex keeps repeating this for a few minutes. Kendra walks in. "Hey Alex you feeling better today?" Kendra looks up from her clipboard. Alex smiles. "Sure am. Whatever is in these bags is working." Alex looks down at Peyton and winks. Peyton chuckles. Kendra looks confused. "There seems to be another substance that's helping you heal but faster than the medicines. What is it I have no idea." Alex smiles. "I do." Kendra raises an eyebrow. "What's that?" Alex and Peyton smile. "Close the door and lock it." Kendra does so. Peyton bites their wrist and then lifts their arm up to Alex's mouth. Alex sucks on Peyton's wrist. Kendra looks amazed. Once Alex is finished she wipes her mouth after swallowing. Peyton licks their wrist and the wound heals. Kendra is jaw shocked. Peyton laughs. They snap their fingers in front of Kendra's face. "Hey you cool?" Kendra grabs Peyton's arm and drags them to another room. Peyton looks confused. "This person here is gonna help save your son." The mother looks confused. "How?" Kendra smiles at Peyton. They sigh. "With my blood. You might want to turn around." The mother looks confused but does so anyway. Peyton shakes the little boy's shoulder. He stirs. "Who are you?" "My name is Peyton. I'm gonna save you." The boy sits up carefully. "How? I have cancer." Peyton smiles. "I need you to open up for me." The boy opens his mouth. Peyton bites their wrist and lets some of their blood drip into the boy's mouth. He closes his mouth and swallows. Peyton wipes his chin. The mother turns back around. "Uh mom?" "Yes dear?" "You unplug my IV?" Peyton grabs the mother's hand. "Not yet. Give it another minute." She nods. A minute later the mother unplugs the IV. The boy takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. He gets off the bed with his mother holding onto him. "Let go." She does so and gasps. The boy starts walking. Peyton smiles. The mother starts crying happy tears. "Thank you. Thank you." The mother hugs Peyton. Peyton hugs back surprised. "Thank you so much." The woman kisses Peyton's cheek. Peyton smiles. "You're welcome ma'am." The woman looks at her son. "Margret. Please." Peyton shakes her hand. "Well you're very welcome Margret." Peyton takes their leave. Kendra follows Peyton. "You hand me a bag?" Peyton taps their arm a few times and sticks a needle in their arm. "Quick." Kendra hooks up a bag to the end of the needle tube. A little while later. "That should be able to save all your dying patients for a period of about six months." Kendra nods. Peyton stumbles around. Kendra looks worried. "Hey you okay?" Peyton gives a thumbs up. Ryan comes over. "I got them." Kendra nods and walks off with the bin filled with blood bags. Ryan helps Peyton out the building. "Come on. We gotta get you something to eat." Peyton falls to the ground. "I can't. You go." "Dude you forget I'm human." "So go find Seana." Ryan sighs and takes out his phone. He calls Seana. It rings.

"Hello Ryan. What's up?" "I need you to find an animal or something and bring it back to behind the hospital." "Peyton okay?" "No. They basically drained themselves into blood bags. They need food now!" "On my way."

The call ends. "She's on her way." Ryan looks over at Peyton. They're leaned against the wall with their head down. Ryan starts to panic. Seana comes running up soon after. "I'm here. I'm here." Seana runs over to Peyton and offers the bag to them. Peyton takes the bag and rips the meat apart and starts eating it. Peyton finishes all that's in the bag and drinks the blood. They wipe their mouth with their sleeve and burp. "Excuse me. Thank you Seana." Seana nods. "No problem." Peyton takes Ryan's offered hand and he pulls Peyton up. "I'm gonna go home." Seana nods. "Same. Unless you need me." Peyton shakes their head. "Go on. I'll see you tomorrow." The two leave. Peyton walks back into the hospital and lays down on Alex's hospital bed. They look up at Alex. "You okay?" Alex smiles. "Yep. You?" Peyton nods. "There's one thing I want from you before I turn 18." Peyton looks at Alex seriously. "Not a chance." Alex whines. "Please?" "You almost died already. I'm not risking that again." Alex pouts and gives Peyton her puppy dog eyes. Justine chuckles. "Careful Peyton. She has the ability to make you say yes to her with that look." Peyton smiles and shakes their head. "Fine." Alex smiles satisfied. Peyton chuckles. "You're a little rascal you know that?" Alex nods. "I know." Justine laughs. "Alright I'm off to work. I'll see you tomorrow." Alex blows a kiss at her mother. Justine pretends to catch it. "Love you." "Love you mum." Justine leaves. Alex sighs with relief. "Finally. Come here." Peyton gets up and locks the door. They then turn off the lights. Peyton comes over and crawls to Alex like a cat. Alex giggles. Peyton kisses Alex deeply. Peyton takes off their shirt and throws it on the chair. A few seconds later Alex moans. Peyton runs their hands over Alex's body. "So beautiful." Peyton thrusts faster. Alex moans and has one hand on Peyton's ass and the other in Peyton's hair. "Daddy…." Peyton chuckles. "What's up my angel?" Peyton starts kissing Alex's neck. Alex moans. "Fuck. Faster." Peyton nods in Alex's neck and thrusts faster. Alex covers her mouth with one of her hands. "I'm gonna cum." Peyton grunts. "I won't be far behind you." Alex starts moaning a little louder as she starts cumming. Peyton starts cumming seconds later. Peyton lays there for a while. Alex runs her fingers through Peyton's short hair. Alex sighs happily and turns her head. She kisses Peyton's neck. "Thank you." Soon after Peyton pulls out and pulls their shorts up when they hear keys jingle in the door. They lay down next to Alex. Alex lays her head on Peyton's chest. The door opens and closes. "So with the help of the blood Peyton has been giving you, you are strong and healthy enough to leave the hospital." Kendra looks up from her clipboard. "Oh. Sorry. Am I interrupting something? I can come back." Peyton shakes their head. "You're fine. So when can we leave?" Kendra opens the door and steps away from it. "Now." Alex looks excited. "Right now?" Kendra nods. "Right now." Alex squeals and unplugs her IV'S. Alex goes to take a run but Peyton grabs her arm. "Wait." Alex sulks. "Why?" Peyton chuckles. "I need to put on my shirt." Alex takes it from Peyton's hands. "No you don't." Alex takes off her shirt and puts on Peyton's. Peyton smiles. Kendra looks at Peyton's chest. They notice and smile. "What?" Kendra points to Peyton's tattoo. "What's that?" Peyton looks at what Kendra is pointing at and smiles. "It's a symbol of my pack. And the wolf at the top of the hill is the alpha. The leader of the pack. Me." Kendra nods. "I see. Well I'll see you." Peyton nods once. Alex climbs onto Peyton's back and wraps her legs around Peyton's waist. "Be seeing you." Kendra smiles. "Be seeing you." Peyton walks out of the room and then walks out of the hospital. Alex starts woohooing as soon as Peyton takes off in a fast run. As soon as they're at Alex's Peyton stops outside Alex's window. "You ready?" Alex buries her face in Peyton's neck. Peyton runs up the tree and jumps through Alex's window. Alex gets down. Peyton goes to leave. Alex grabs their wrist. "Where you going?" Peyton comes close to Alex and kisses her softly. "I've been with you every day for the past two months. I need some time for myself." Alex nods. "Okay." Peyton lifts Alex's chin up. "Hey. I'll see you tomorrow. I just need tonight." Alex wraps her arms around Peyton and hugs them. Peyton hugs back. They kiss Alex's forehead before leaving. Peyton runs to the nearest bar and gets drunk. Peyton goes home and goes to bed.
