14 Turf War

I woke up because I heard hissing and growling. I was in a dark alley and a few cats were resting next to me. Some of them had wounds, and the rest of them were sleeping. I asked one of them, "What's going on?" A male said, "Sir Molotov and a bunch of brutes are having a turf war." A wounded female said, "Some of us had to get reinforcements from Sir Moon and Queen Lullaby."

I sat up and I suddenly felt lightheaded. Memories of Jet stirred in my mind, and I sighed sadly. An elder female said, "Hey... it's okay. Sir Molotov told us what happened. Jet cheated on my daughter like that too. He even promised her that he'll be there with her forever." Tears rolled down my cheeks, and she sat in my lap.

Then I heard a loud bark. Multiple cats started hissing, and the dog kept barking. I recognized that kind of bark because of Fin's group. I flattened my ears and said, "He's calling the other dogs! We have to go!" Some of the cats put their kittens in baskets for them to carry. I helped some of them, and we all hopped onto the roof of a nearby building.

A couple of dogs came and started whining and growling. The cats cheered and one of them said, "You have good experience with dogs! Thank you, Sir Rudy!" The dog's leader came and said, "How did you pesky cats know that we were coming!?" A male said, "Sir Rudy is a dog expert!" The other cats cheered at that, and the dog said, "Damn it!"

Another male shouted, "Sir Moon's and Queen Lullaby's soldiers will be here soon! You better run you smelly mincemeats!" The dog leader shouted, "Never!" Then he and the dogs with him ran back into battle. I said, "It's safer to stay up here. They might come back." The cats agreed, and we stayed on the rooftops. I helped some of the cats that returned from battle up, and some of the others hopped back down to fight.

After a while, a group of cats returned and we all hopped back down onto the ground. Some of the cats bragged about me and some stood guard. The rest were asking about my "dog experiences". Soon, Molotov came back, and the cats cheered. Molotov said, "I'm glad you're awake Rudy." Then almost everyone started talking about me and the dogs.

Molotov tilted his head, and a cat told him what I did. He smiled and said, "Really? That's cool." He glanced at me and nodded in approval. I smiled back and he looked down saying, "I need a team of cats to find Jet's alley." A few cats stepped up, and he asked, "You coming, Rudy?" I shook my head and said, "I'll be fine here." He nodded and shouted, "Move out!"

...

I'm scared. Mom is gone and dad is not saying anything. My siblings were trying to cheer me up, but I couldn't smile. Something definitely happened while I was asleep. I wanted to go out and search for him, but I know that dad would say that it's too dangerous. Finally, dad said, "Don't worry about him Ace. I'm sure he's fine."

I didn't believe him. Dad didn't have the look that said, "He's fine". Suddenly, a large shadow loomed over us. Dad spat, "What do you want." I looked up and I saw mom's friend, Molotov, and a few other cats. He said, "You don't deserve any of this." Dad's eyes were suddenly filled with rage, and he said, "You're not taking anything else from me."

Molotov said, "If you want your "babe" back, come and get him. I don't understand why you're just sitting here." Dad then stood up and walked out of the alleyway. Molotov told us, "I suggest that you follow us. That is. if you want to see your... "mother" again." Ash jumped up and shouted, "What are you three waiting for, an invitation? Come on!"

I jumped up, then Blossom and Birch followed. Molotov said, "Good. Now follow us."

...

I was playing with cards with a few cats, and then we all heard loud, booming footsteps. Multiple cats went back to guard, and a few others protected the kittens. The guard fell back in fear, and a dark, familiar voice said, "Where's Rudy?"
