12 A New Topic

It's been eight months, and the kittens are officially grown up. There was snow getting into the alleyway, so Jet and the boys built a ceiling out of wood. Blossom and I would go out and steal clothes and I would get boxes for my kids to sleep in. One day, Ace whispered in my ear and said, "I feel weird..." I sniffed his neck. He wasn't in heat, but something was going on.

Jet finally came back with Ash and Birch and shouted, "We got food!" Blossom meowed loudly, "It's about time! You were gone for an hour!" Blossom is a very sassy cat. Ash and Jet doubt that she will get a mate. Birch mewed, "We're sorry. It was so cold outside, so we took a little break." Birch had a bit of a lisp, and he was really shy. Ash meowed, "You didn't have to talk. Now she's just going to make fun of you."

Ash is a lot like Jet, except he's louder and more optimistic about things. Blossom thinks he's a brute, but Jet always says otherwise when he's around. "Jet! Come here." I shouted. He rushed over and said, "What's going on?" Ace said, "I feel weird." Jet took Ace off of my lap and said, "He's transforming." Ash shouted, "Wait, now!?" The others rushed over and watched Ace closely.

Small little lights appeared around Ace, and then there was a blinding light, so we all closed our eyes. When it seemed like the light faded down, I opened my eyes and I saw a pet cat with a black tail and black ears. He wasn't wearing a shirt, but he had black and white shorts on, and he had a birthmark in the shape of a spade on his neck.

He shook his head and said, "I'm... big?" Jet said, "You did it Ace!" I smiled, and the others clapped. According to Jet, he was fifteen years old. His body skipped a couple of years, and sometimes cats aren't able to transform at all if that happens.

The next day, everyone went out but Ace, Blossom, and I. We were just talking, then I heard a loud bang. Ace and Blossom heard it as well, and they were frantically looking around for what made that noise. I said, "Stay here you two. If I don't come back, go get your father." They nodded, and I jumped up on the roof. When I did, I almost screamed.

There was blood all over the roof. On the other side, two cats were screaming and growling at each other. One of them was Molotov, and the other was the huge guy that chased me and Lucille before. I told my kids, "It's okay. I'll just be up here for a bit." They sighed in relief, and I went back to watching the fight.

The fat one said, "So what? It's not like he's your mate. Why protect him from me?" Molotov said, "Because he doesn't deserve any more pain! He's already suffered enough! Besides, I'm doing this for a friend you know too well." "N-no... you don't mean..." Molotov smirked and said, "Oh yes. Jet is back in town."

The cat ran away limping, and Molotov sighed. I hopped back down and said, "It's okay. It wasn't important." Ace said, "That's good." Blossom meowed, "That's ridiculous! You were there for a while." I chuckled, and I heard someone say, "Hey." I looked up and I saw Molotov. Blossom shrieked and Ace backed up.

Molotov hopped down and said, "Sorry for scaring y'all. Just here to see your... mother?" I shrugged and Ace said, "Wait you're friends?" Molotov said, "Yup. For a while now." We heard Jet shout, "Ow! Don't bite my tail!" Molotov said, "Welp, gotta go. See ya!" He jumped on the roof and disappeared. I told Ace and Blossom, "Don't speak of him around Jet please."

They said, "Okay" then Jet walked in shouting, "I told you this a thousand times! My tail is not a toy!" Birch was giggling at Ash, who was digging his claws into Jet's tail. Jet pulled his tail away from Ash, and said, "Dammit." I said, "It's okay Jet. Your fur will grow back." Jet smiled and kissed my forehead. Ace asked Jet, "Can I go with you next time?" Jet shook his head and said, "The humans will catch you because it's quite rare to see a "pet" on the streets."

Ace lowered his head, and I said, "Ahh... don't worry about it too much Ace. You can go out when you're a bit older, alright?" Ace raised his head and said, "Really? Thank you mom!" I smirked, and Jet grumbled something. I started thinking about the fight. The females around here are mad at him, but at the same time afraid of him, and the males run in fear just by hearing his name, except for Molotov.

I've been pondering about this for a while until Jet left with Blossom and Ash. Birch stayed near me and Ace looked up at the sky. The sun was setting, making the sky go darker and darker as time passed by.
