18 Chapter 18

"What makes you think that we'll find the rouges out here? They might've escaped to the city by now!" "Be quiet! You're so fucking annoying..." "Both of you be quiet." Three cats were looking for us. Their paw steps were faint, so they weren't too close by. I was about to hop down the tree, but I froze when I saw someone I've never seen before.

I didn't hear her at all. Her paw steps were silent like the sky. She's a calico covered in a strange smelling goop with a really fat belly, so she's probably expecting. She looked around, and then she said, "H-Hello? Are there any rouges nearby?" I decided to talk to her, so I completely concealed myself and asked, "Who are you?" She flinched and looked up at the tree.

She said, "Um... I'm not a forest cat... I'm pretty sure that others aren't fond of cats from the city. Then I overheard cats talking about rouges, so I decided to look for you to help me." I said, "We are enemies of the cats of the forest. How can we trust you?" She sighed and said, "The goop on me isn't mud"

"I... uh... know" I whispered to myself. I climbed down the tree, and she said, "Oh! You're so young!" I flattened my ears and said, "Yeah.. um.. I'll take you to our camp if that's okay." She smiled and said, "That would be kind of you." I walked back to camp, and Jay and Smoke instantly padded up to me. Jay asked, "Who is she!?"

The cat flattened her ears in rejection, and I asked, "Hey Jay... is she from the city?" He sniffed her, and said, "Well... yeah she is, but that could mean that she's a spy. And she's covered in sewage!" I tilted my head, and Smoke had a questioning look. We knew nothing about the city, so Jay said, "It's water full of gross human and rat stuff."

"That... disgusting." Smoke murmured while backing away. I said, "We can take her to a lake! And she said she needs our help!" Jay said, "No means no! She could be a spy for Ace!" "What's going on over here?" Lu walked over and she said, "Such a horrid smell... and I've never seen her before, not in the city, or the forest, so she must've been lab-born."

Then Jay said, "Then she must be one of Rudy's kits..." The calico perked her ears up and said, "Rudy is here?" Jay went up to her, pushing me out of the way, and asked, "What is Rudy to you?" She said, "Rudy is my mother, and the humans said that my father's name is Jet." Jay's eyes widened, and he said, "...You're welcome here."

Her eyes widened and she said, "Thank you so much!" Jay left without a word, and Lu said, "Come with me. I'll get you cleaned up." After they left, it was just Smoke and I. The silence was very awkward, and then Smoke said, "I'm sorry for hurting you for such a silly thing." I sighed and said, "You need to be less... obsessed with things. Starting with the secret."

Smoke nodded, and then I said, "Oh wait wait! I was going to tell you all something! There are other cats nearby! Well, not nearby, but they're around!" Then Smoke and I quickly rushed into Jay and Birch's den.

I was very happy after hearing the news from Jay. "So I have another sister that escaped from the lab, huh? That's awesome..." Jay nodded and said, "She's here right now. She's just getting cleaned up and checked." I walked outside, and Bandit came up to me saying, "There are cats looking for us! They aren't close, but they might find us!"

Jay came out and said, "We have to move again." Jay yowled for a meeting, and then I saw the cat who claims to be my kin. I came up to her and said, "Hello. What's your name?" She sat down and said, "My name is Grace. What about you?" I said, "My name is Birch." She gasped and said, "No wonder you have Rudy's colors! You were what he would talk about, along with Ace, Ash, Blossom, and Jet may father!"

She looked around the camp and asked, "So... where are they?" I looked down and said, "Jet is dead. And so are my other siblings, except for Ace. I think... that he murdered our father. Rudy is in another camp with more of our siblings." Her eyes were as wide as moons in surprise and sadness. She looked down saying, "I was hoping to meet them. At least I got to meet you!"

I smiled at I said, "Well it's nice that one of my siblings from a lab escaped alive. But how?" "Let's see... well, I was grown up to see if any "gems" grew on me. They did, but they were pulled out, and then they put sperm from another cat in me. I was able to escape because of Rudy! He stopped the doctors from going after me with his tail! And that's how I escaped."

Jay came up to her and said, "Oh yeah? What color were the gems on his tail?" She thought for a moment and then she said, "If I recall... they were blue, right?" Jay's eyes widened and he walked away saying, "Yeah... they're blue." I looked around, and at the corner of my eye, I saw a couple of trees moving suspiciously.
