What was more surprising was that there were several other cats beside it––a grey one, a calico one, and one that was black under the nose with a Hitler-like mustache, which looked very funny.

The three cats were grey-headed and dirt-faced. Their hair was messy. Several pinches of hair were stuck together and stranded. They all looked like stray cats that wandered around nearby. They were squatting next to Vladimir on the gas supply pipeline, their heads lowered to stare at the people below.
