Cain admired his new, less human features in the mirror after stitching up his face. His left eye was blood red and terrifying while he now had the right hand of a beastman like Luna. While he couldn't tell right away from what species it was, it was most likely Canine like her.

His left leg, all the way up to the middle of his thigh was now a bit darker in color, with scale-like bumps along his legs with it mostly concentrated on his shin. His toes were also claw-like but he also had webbed toes that felt a bit weird.

While he should have been frightened, he was interested instead.

Just to make sure his most important body part was fine, he took a look in his pants to find his dick was intact, maybe slightly bigger which was a welcomed plus. Luna scolded him for a few hours, telling him about how stupid and reckless he was as he tried to calm her down.

They wrapped up his arm and leg for now since they were pretty noticeable while they also gave him an eyepatch just in case. While he wanted to stay and test on himself, he was pushed out of the basement by Luna and taken over to the barn where Vala was speaking with Moona again.

"Luna told me you did something, taboo, yesterday to save me. Ever since I came back I felt like you were hiding something from me and while I'm not 100% sure these two things are connected, I have a feeling they are.

"Who are the Aldermans mother?"

Cain sat next to his mother holding her hands while she looked down in worry. Luna watched since she also wanted to find more about this since it seems Vala still hid stuff from her.

Vala didn't mind her presence since it reminded her she needed to tell him about their family. While what she might say could potentially harm their relationship, making it irreparable, his life was at stake without this knowledge.

"What I am about to say might be... shocking... but please let me explain fully before you make a decision. *sigh* Our family, the Aldermans, are a long-lasting line of kin, reaching as far back as the Age of Gods.

"A time where Myths and Legends were their reality, monstrous beings roamed the world, constantly terraforming it to their desire, fighting against each other for dominance while us humans were mere ants in the face of their might.

"Our family was small, starting out with only 6 or so members and in order to survive, they did many things supposedly in order to survive. One of them being inbreeding."

Vala took another breath as Cain made a weird face.

"They began to inbreed, uncles and neices, aunts and nephews, fathers and daughters... mothers and sons... they all mated and gave birth to children and they quickly came up with a system over the generations that followed to prevent birth defects from popping up.

"After the Age of Legends passed, humans and other beastmen who were suppressed by the higher beings before, began to expand their territories and kin into what it was today. While there were many wars and struggles for power, us Aldermans, wanted nothing to do with it.

"We only fought for love, for our loved ones and to protect those who wished to be loved. We continued to inbreed, despite knowing the dangers and knowing that we could easily bring in new blood whenever we wanted.

"Slowly, over time our DNA began to 'evolve' unexpectedly in a way where we no longer had to worry about the dangers of inbreeding. It is still unknown just what made that mutation occur, but many believe it began with the first 'Child of All,' who was also an Alderman."

Cain and Luna's eyes went wide at this shocking revelation. It was known that he wasn't the first Child of All, and while there wasn't a solid record on how many of these beings there were, there were at least three, and now one of them was his ancestor.

"Does that mean-""No questions!" Vala scolded him and cut him off but still answered anyway, "Yes he's your ancestor, yes the first Child of All's blood runs in us, and yes it is most likely the reason for your mutation as well.

"We have no proof of this but it has been believed for hundreds of generations after her."

"Her?" Cain was a bit surprised, that it was a she rather than a he.

"Wouldn't-" "No questions! I thought I said that already!" Vala grabbed his ear and he winced in pain.

Luna chuckled a bit and listened to Vala answer anyways.

"She gave birth to hundreds of children, which quickly put its toll on her body. That is why there isn't much known about her since she died so young. We quickly realized that while the Child of All was a godsend for the world, it wasn't so much for us Aldermans who were considered threats to the world.

"People wanted to covet our so-called 'powers' and it ultimately led to us being culled. Our family tree is small no thanks to the genocide of the Aldermans long ago. Most people luckily don't remember our history since it was thousands of years ago, but now that you have shown your power as an Alderman, the geezers of the Grand Council will surely poke their heads into our business more.

"That was why I was so hesitant to tell you about this. It not only endangers your life, but it also endangers the world if they manage to chain you up as a prisoner. I worried for your safety and feared about what you may think of me as your mother."

Vala paused and couldn't look her son in the eye. Cain sighed deeply as he wasn't sure what to think. He never realized his family was this special. He only knew of his grandpa and his mother, no one else, and now he was suddenly the product of inbreeding?

"Mom? Does that mean grandpa was my fa-" "NO!!" Vala cut him off with tears in her eyes before realizing her outburst, "I'm sorry. No, he wasn't. It was customary to keep away from direct family members since there was always still a risk of birth defects should the woman get pregnant."

"Then who was my father?" Cain narrowed his eyes.

This was a question he never brought up because it never occurred to him to have a father. It wasn't until he spent his life in the Academy that he realized families were more than just mothers and sons. He wondered who his father might have been but it wasn't a high priority thing to find out.

Now it was, since it seemed to be very important to this conversation. Vala seemed to have a hard time finding the words but eventually mumbled, "I don't know."

"You don't know?" Luna growled a bit as she was also going through a bunch of emotions right now, "How can you not know who stuck a dick in you?"

She was crude, and Cain got mad at her but Vala stopped him, saying she was right. She ended up explaining that as a young woman, she participated in a ritual of sorts that their family held, where the newly adult man or woman of the Alderman family would be the star of an "extended family orgy."

In simpler terms, she fucked her father's brothers and cousins. Cain and Luna both couldn't seem to process that information. To top it all off, they were all dead after the recent wars between the kingdoms of Carven and Taval. His grandpa was the only one to survive.

With the family already being as small as it was, the wars didn't help in their slow recovery and at this point, it was only him and his mother, while there were surely long-lost relatives somewhere in the world.

"I'm sorry that you never got to have a father Cain, and I'm sorry for not being the mother I should have been for you, but I don't want to lose you again. When I saw you lying on the floor like that a few days ago, I didn't know what to do but I would have done anything for you.

"When Luna wanted me to help save you with our healing blood, I freaked out since you hadn't gone through the ritual like I did but I knew this might have been my last moment as a mother to try and save her child.

"I know what I did was disgusting. I violated you when you were vulnerable and you almost died because I was too scared to talk to you about this sooner. You have ever right to hate me, but I didn't want to lose you again."

Vala broke down crying as Cain still held her hands. She let her white hair fall in front of her face to keep the mother son pair from seeing each other. Cain honestly had no idea how to process this. It was like his existence was a lie and he was already abnormal from the start.

Was he destined to be a slave to the world, with or without being the Child of All? He wasn't sure and he still had questions. He looked to Luna to see how she was taking it and she looked depressed.

She was in her own world as well so Cain sighed and brought his mother into a hug. Her cries got a bit louder as she carefully wrapped her arms around her son, still burying her face in his chest.

"I'm not sure what to think Mama," Cain began as he rested his chin on her head, "It feels like its my fate to be a slave for this world but I don't want that. I want to keep fighting and fighting for my freedom. I want to start a family, make friends, I wanted to see you again mama, someone I knew I could count on always.

"This is a lot to take in, and I have so many questions, but I promise you, that I still love you. You're my mother. I only get one so I don't want to ruin that one special relationship."

Vala tried to chuckle between cries as the two of them continued to sit and talk for hours.
