Chapter 1
Alex's POV
"Fresh day fresh start, alright deep breath Alex", saying so to the reflection in the mirror, I went down to get breakfast and leave the house. While I made my way down the stairs only for Boomer to follow me huffing and wagging his tail.
Reaching the cabinetry, I grabbed the dog food and poured it in Boomer's bowl. Again reaching the cabinet taking out three boxes making my way to pour food first for my lazy cat Azusa then my energetic birdie Windy and lastly for my sweetheart goldfishes. Well I just call them number 1 and 2 and so on.
Finally after making and eating my breakfast I made my way out of the house while Boomer followed me to the door.
" Now Boom, you gotta be a good boy for me and take care of all even Azusa, okay?" He immediately barked as if he understood whatever I said well actually he does I don't know how but he does.
Today is my first day at my new workplace. I am psychologist, work with mental hospitals and even have a small counseling clinic of my own. I don't know why I was transferred here without any explanation but must me some reason, I mean I never doubt what happens cause it happens for our own good.
I drove the car to my destination which was 40 minutes away. Getting off the car locking it I reached the reception.
" Good day miss, my name is Alex Mathews, I am joining here from today" I said to the receptionist smiling, which she returned.
" Hello doctor, welcome here, my name is Brittany. Please wait here I will just inform the head about your arrival."
I thanked her and turned around looking at the place, patients and therapist walking around peacefully. I was so engrossed that a gasp left my lips when I felt someone starting to shake me violently. It was a old woman probably a patient.
" Miss, I have been a very good girl, look I have a token also, please give me my candy" she said showing me her token.
" Hey!! Lara! Move back now!" A nurse started harshly dragging her.
Well this is something I can't tolerate, " it's alright" I said to the nurse, " Miss Lara" I said calmly to the woman who became quiet after the nurse started dragging her, she looked up at me, " Sorry, I am not having any candy today but I promise to bring you a chocolate tomorrow" I said to her and she nodded her head politely. I patted her head and she went back with the nurse.
After that I again waited for the head standing cause I didn't felt like sitting. Looking around my eyes fell on a guy who was sitting on the sofa wearing the same uniform as Lara ' must be a patient too' I thought but he was different. He looked tired yet undyingly handsome, grey eyes and matched hairs were complimenting his features do well but still there was pain and sorrow reflected in his eyes. I was just staring in his eyes and so was he even when a nurse came and took him nobody broke the contact till I couldn't see him.
