58 Dr.Aria

"Mommy?"

Adriana opened her eyes with great difficulty. Her head was still pounding and her forehead was burning.

She sighed and looked at Aria.

"Mommy, please take the medicine."

Adriana nodded, and she took it. She then hugged Aria and thanked her for the help. "Don't worry, I'm just having a small fever. It will go away soon. Are you hungry? I'll prepare something for dinner."

Aria shook her head. "I'm not hungry, mommy. I ate a lot earlier. Please go to sleep so you won't be sick again." Aria pushed her down and put the blanket over her. She then kissed Adriana's forehead. "Sweet dreams." She whispered.

Adriana chuckled and closed her eyes.

Soon after, she went back to sleep.

Aria couldn't sleep afterward. She saw her mother struggling to sleep because her entire body was sweaty and hot.

She was worried, so she faced her fears for the darkness and she used a chair to open the door. She walked into the dark halls of the hotel.

There were small lights in the corner of the hallways, so it wasn't as scary as she thought it would be. Aria knocked on Noah's door as much as she could, but despite her efforts, there was no answer.

Either he was in deep sleep or he was just not there. She turned around to leave in disappointment.

What would she do now? Should she call her brother again? No, he said to avoid contact so that no one gets suspicious of his plan.

She sighed and walked towards the bathroom where she wet a towel and placed it over her mother's forehead. If she remembered correctly last year when she had a fever, her mother stood up all night taking care of her.

So she would do the same!

With a cute determined expression, she sat next to her mother on the bed and she patted her shoulder. "Don't worry mommy, with my care you will be back to normal in no time!"

She even walked to her suitcase with toys and she took out her doctor 'tools' and she started 'treating' her mother.

Soon after, sleep took over her and Aria fell asleep next to her mother.

Cough*

I mean, patient.

A few hours later Adriana woke up again because of the uncomfortable. She found Aria sleeping peacefully, so she left her there. When she noticed Aria's 'doctor' outfit she smiled.

She walked inside her shower, and she took a short warm bath. After taking some medicine again, she laid back down.

Before she could proceed with her plan to sleep again, her phone started ringing.

She then stood up and answered the phone.

A frown covered her face when she realized Caroline was calling her at 3 in the morning.

"Caroline? Did something happen?"

She placed her head on her forehead. She still had a slight headache, but at least her fever had come down.

"... Can you come? I'm not... I can't go out on my own. No matter how hard I try, my body won't move." Her voice was breaking, and she sounded like she would burst into tears.

"Where are you?"

"Home. I didn't think he would come today, so I came home. I was sleeping just fine until he arrived with another woman." Caroline explained.

"Don't hang up. I will be there soon."

Adriana quickly changed into some clothes. She put on a sweater and took her keys with her. While still on the phone, she headed outside the hotel.

"Take a deep breath. I'm going to come get you soon."

"Okay…"

As she walked out of the elevator in a hurry Adriana bumped into someone. She looked up and met the man's eyes, but she discarded his identity and rushed past him.

Noah furrowed his eyebrows when he saw her rushing out.

'It's so late already….'

Not that he should be outside wondering about either at 3 am. It was a stressful day and nothing could distract him better than staying late at his office. He had just come back after finishing a pile of documents.

Adriana realized it would take forever to fetch a cab, and it would also take a long time for Ralf to come over if she were to call him.

"Wait-"

She tugged his coat. "Is your car parked outside?" She asked, and he nodded.

"I need to borrow your car. It's an emergency." She hoped he would accept it because she needed to get to Caroline as soon as possible.

"I'll drive you there." He answered.

"Thank you." She swallowed and followed him into his car. She gave him the address, and he thankfully didn't question her.

Adriana put the phone on speaker and hoped Caroline would stay on the line. Almost 5 minutes away from the place, Caroline made a noise.

She sobbed quietly. "Sis, he's back."

"Where are you right now?"

"The bathroom, I-I locked the door but-" Caroline's heart stopped when there was a loud banging outside the door.

Her complete body froze and she could barely breathe.

Adiana's breath hitched. She looked at the red traffic light and she turned to Noah.

He understood what she wanted him to do, and he skipped all the red lights despite the protests of the cars behind them.

She ran out of the car and into the mansion as soon as they arrived, despite the pouring rain

Sure, she might be cold and maybe she doesn't express her care for her sister much, but she really loves her. She felt her heart had stopped, and she had the urge to teleport to Caroline's side immediately.

'I promise. I will become a warmer person and tomorrow I will hug her and open up to her. I swear I will just let her be okay. Please!' She begged.

"Adriana!" He yelled behind her, realizing just how cold the rain was and how soaking wet she already was.

The stupid woman ignored his yells and continued running.

Noah parked the car and followed her.

Inside, Adriana heard banging on a door and curses coming from a man. She dashed up the stairs until she reached the master bedroom.

Since the man had locked it, she started panicking.

Noah finally caught up to her and he kicked the door open.

His arm hurt, he had broken the lock with his foot and forced himself in. He sighed when he witnessed the following scene.

"F*cking assh*le!" She cursed, smashing the nearest vase on the man's head and knocking him out.

It seems he had nothing to do here. She had handled the situation on her own.

In this situation, he was an outsider, so he did what he should do and fetched his phone.

Adriana hugged Caroline while she sobbed in her arms. She turned to Noah and shook her head, knowing he wanted to call the police and an ambulance.

Noah nodded and messaged Kelvin to come as soon as possible.

"Shh, I'm here. Caroline look at me. While I'm here, he can't hurt you. I won't allow it. I promise he won't have the balls to lay a finger on you ever again."

Caroline nodded her head while tears fell from her eyes and she hugged her sister as tight as she could.

What Adriana said wasn't an empty promise. She would make sure the man who had the guts to hurt her sister would pay a price worse than hell. That price would be to face her, the most vengeful woman you could ever meet.

One thing for sure…. he's dead meat.
