2 Robin's Struggles

In the the city Seattle in the Power Plane, there was a massive change compared to what it looked like hundreds of years ago. With human progress in mind you would logically come to the conclusion that the city would be filled with skyscrapers, however it is the complete opposite, while the area Seattle covers has increased there are no buildings taller than 10 stories.

There is however one large thing that humans have built and that is the massive one hundred foot tall wall that surrounds the perimeter of the city. If you were to look closer than you would see many men walking across the top of the wall with spears, bows, or other projectile weapons.

However odd it is, in this era this type of architecture is not uncommon, as it serves to keep beasts and monsters from invading cities and killing the inhabitants. In all of the Power Plane if a city did not have a person with the ability to put a barrier on its parameter, than they had a wall.

In a certain building close to the wall there was a teenage boy who was playing with a small knife.

"Shit, why is it still so brittle," the boy swore knowing he was out of the earshot of his strict and heavy handed mother.

This boy, Robin Sabit, came from a long line of blacksmiths, which in the era right before Genesis came was useless. However Genesis came and everyone gained abilities and coincidentally his great grand father, Allan Sabit, gained the ability to turn his body into whatever his blade was made out of, depending mostly on the material and the quality of the blade. This ability made him a legend as well as an original protector of Seattle.

However after another generation, new, stronger, ability users came and made him unfit for his job,

because unlike other ability users his doesn't evolve based on strength but rather on his skill and ability to forge blades which stagnated in his case. so he settled near the wall, and lived a peaceful life as a mercenary who traveled outside of the city and brought back beast materials.

Robin Sabit, was the son of the grandson of Allan Sabit, however he still got a sword related ability. Robin was capable of summoning any blade that he could imagine, however the material, mass, and sharpness of the blade was based off of his physical strength.

Robin's ability had great potential however, unlike normal children who awake their ability around the age of ten, he awoke his at fifteen which was rare but not an impossibility. Robin was disheartened for the five years after his tenth birthday and was often bullied at public school. Researchers find that the delay in ability is not an issue in bloodline or what area you're in but rather a random occurrence.

Robin blamed his bad luck for his issue however. Ever since his father died due to an unfortunate encounter with a Teleportation Liger, when he was nine he faced many challenges. His mom who had the ability to generate food, within a limit of course, drank herself to sleep every night in sorrow. And without any income, Robin could only rely on his rapidly declining generational wealth.

Robin was frustrated today because after a week of working out and pumping iron his assassins blade did not gain any noticeable sharpness or strength to it. But it stopped at that, just frustration. He walked from his small living room to his bedroom. When he went into his room, he plopped on his bed and stared at the wall. He thought of how in the past before Genesis, everyone had a phone, computer, or TV. Boredom was not an issue before Genesis, but when electronics stopped working and only elites were capable of using electronics, everyone realized how they took even looking at the daily news on their phones for granted.

Robin yearned to be born before there were monsters and humans weren't forced to hole up in enclosed cities. But with a harrumph he stopped yearning to be born in the past and thought about how to survive high school the next day.

With a cacophony of noise only capable of being produced by an alarm clock, Robin was woken by one of the few pieces of technology that managed to survive Genesis, a mechanical alarm clock. He walked to the kitchen and on the way saw his mother snoring on the couch. She lost her job years ago. How nice, Robin thought it would be to have no responsibilities, but Robin glanced at his mother and muttered.

"I'll never end up like this bitch"

While Robin was eating breakfast, which consisted of barely spoiled milk and leftover fried eggs , he thought about what he dreamed last night. All that Robin could recall was an extremely handsome and muscular man with no clothes, was wielding a beautiful sword and moved slowly while preforming some kind of sword movement. While the movement was slow, Robin could tell the sword had a massive amount of power behind it, as all the mans muscles were flexed.

When Robin thought about it he was wondering why the man was naked, but then stopped this train of thought as the man was not doing anything sexual, so he ruled out a gay dream. Now that Robin thought about it the man resembled his father, at least what he remembered his father to look like.

After a few more moments of trying to recollect anymore of this dream he decided to stop thinking about it and ultimately decided that the dream was created because he missed his father.

Robin then dressed up and walked to his local high school just hoping that he would avoid any abuse today.
