Chapter 42: Ending Percy's 4 years suffering.

Moving through the Time-stopped world, Marcus faced Kronos's Scythe with his palm. He outstretched his palm and grabbed the tip of the blade, with an outmaneuvering technique he redirected the Scythe's direction into the ground and struck it below.

Then he spun around and elbowed the Titan Lord right in the face, making the latter fall on his knees. It happened so fast.

Kronos didn't imagine himself being brought down within such a short time period that he was still processing what just transpired.

Maybe if the one who struck him down was a God he would believe it but the one who one handed him was a demi-god. A mere Demi-god that he always looked down upon.

An insignificant ant in his eyes yet here he was on his knees in just one exchange with this supposed demi-god.

Being humiliated, he stood up with renewed vigor to pay back the humiliation. He swiped down his scythe downwards and sweeped the ground, as if a farmer was reaping tall grass.

Marcus saw the attack coming from miles away, he could've easily jumped up and evaded the attack but instead, he stomped his foot at the right moment and landed it exactly on the side of the blade.

Stopping the momentum the Titan Lord builded up and negating his attack.

While his left foot was still firmly stomped into Scythe's blade his right foot was free to move, so he brought it up and folded it for a kick.

With a short pang and a burst of air, Marcus kicked Kronos in the face at neck breaking speed sending the latter flying like a ragged sack being kicked by an angry passerby.

"Kughh!" The Titan Lord can't help but release a shameful groan as he crashes into Zeus's throne. Luke's body may have been dipped into River Styx making it invincible but it didn't mean it could not feel pain. Especially when the pain that struck you came from a kick that can exceed the sound barrier.

Within this short exchange Percy, Annabet, and Grover had their eyes widened at an inhumane size and their mouths being left agape. They knew how powerful Marcus was, their crushing defeat 4 years ago was a testament of that but they didn't expect that this man right here could even ragdoll the Titan Lord. The literal Lord of Titans, the one who brought the Golden Age of Olympus, the Incarnation of Time itself and the Father of the Gods!

It was not an exaggeration to say that their whole world right now is being changed. They thought inside their minds. Maybe, just maybe, if we didn't chase him away back then, everything would've been so much different. So many lives would have been saved. All those sacrifices wouldn't have been made.

Regret. That was one of the emotions they were experiencing right now. There were a lot of what ifs.

But they were broken out of their thoughts when

They saw the two again clash against each other. The scythe of Kronos furiously lashed out against the unsuspecting floor of the Throne Room. All of his attacks carry a tremendous amount of power and speed yet not even a single one of them, not even a gust managed to touch Marcus's hem.

They tried to move and eventually they managed to but they didn't interfere because they knew to themselves, it would be unecessary.

One exchange turned into ten, ten turned into a hundred until eventually Kronos came to a halt and took a step back.

He was wasting his time, and that was a lot to say since he is literally the Lord of time. Seeing this reaction Marcus knew that it was finally time to end this.

Marcus looked at Kronos and stared at him, feeling the Bastard of Zeus's gaze the latter felt pierced by it. His eyes were so emotionless and dead that it was unsettling.

But what unsettled the titan lord more was the sudden change of atmosphere around Marcus. It was calm and silent, but he knew that silence always carries a storm.

And he was right. Percy and Annabeth, even the clueless Grover felt the impending doom too.

Suddenly the arcs of dark lightning around Marcus converged and gathered around his palm. The dark lightning crawled around his palm like an ominous snake that strikes unsuspectingly and viciously.

Slowly, he brought up his hands into shoulder level and aimed it at Kronos. The latter's thousand years of experience screamed at him to get out of the way of the palm's direction.

Alarm started buzzing on his head sending warnings and warnings that it was dangerous. But it was too late.

The dark lightning left Marcus's hands and traveled through the air, frying even the space it used as a medium to travel and eventually it struck it's designated target.

Without much resistance, the so-called invincible body of Luke, dipped into the river styx, disintegrated.

There was no dramatical effect, there was no sad goodbye, there was no last stand, it just disappeared into oblivion.

The essence inside Luke, Kronos's spirit was left without a body. A small dark light floated around where Luke previously stood.

Marcus then waved his hands again and this time it was not lightning that came out of his hands but datk mist.

The dark mist dropped on the ground and spreaded around the throne room with the highest concentration around the dark light.

The dark mist swallowed the light, like a cloud covering the moon. Marcus flicked his wrist and the dark mist was recovered back to his palm.

Along with the mist was Kronos's essence. And just like that, his terror that had plagued the entire Greek Pantheon for four years disappeared just like that. Like a puff of smoke.

Kronos's legend and power lasted for a thousand years yet it ended so abruptly.

Technically Kronos can't die, you can scatter his essence into fine dust and separate them all away from each other to keep him from forming a conscience but it won't mean he will die.

But what Marcus did wasn't just simply scattering his essence around. No, he absorbed it. Making all that was once Kronos belong to Marcus. His Chronomancy especially, was the highlight.
