Chapter 41:

Amidst Kronos' grinding teeth in frustration a sudden voice broke out everyone from their menagerie.

"I see they're doing well." A young and tired voice resounded throughout the throne room making everyone snap their neck at where the sound came from.

Percy's eyes widened at the sight of the figure they saw. Annabeth had her mouth down from shock, a loud gasp escaping from her mouth.

But most of all even though Luke was trapped inside his own body, Kronos who was supposed to be inside Luke's body released a surprised gasp. But that shock didn't come from the Titan lord but from Luke.

"Y-you!"

"M-Marcus! Is that you!?"

They recognized him. Even though he was vastly different from what they last saw him they were still familiar enough to recognize him.

He was completely different from the Marcus they used to know. The Marcus back then had sleek short and fine hair, compared to this Marcus who had long and unkempt hair.

If previously his skin was full of liveliness, now he looked pale and miserable as if a corpse.

"Hello Percy." The young man greeted tiredly.

"Grover." He looked at the tired satyr and nodded.

"Annabeth." He nodded at her and finally his attention landed on Luke.

"Luke, or should I call you Titan Lord Kronos?" He regarded the Titan Lord who was seething with anger.

When the Titan Lord saw Marcus, he immediately onew that he was not here to help the demi-gods. "You! You're with the japanese!"

He shouted at him furiously. When Percy and the rest heard it they too became shocked but soon it all made sense. Marcus must be here to take revenge against Luke. I mean he had all the rights to, he was unjustly framed and was betrayed by the people who he thought accepted him as their kin.

Annabeth was visibly shook at Marcus's sudden appearance. She had at one point, had an infatuation with him, they were close, Marcus considered her a friend, but when things goes south she was the first to point her weapons.

She still felt guilty about that, not only her but the entire camp. They drove away a friend, a kin of their own because of an unjust accusation.

But unbeknownst to them Marcus no longer caref about that, no, he didn't care about anything anymore. His only goal right now is not revenge, not anything but to prepare for what's to come.

After all, he sacrificed all of his emotion in exchange for power to stop what was coming.

"M-marcus, is that really you?" Annabeth asked, shaken.

Marcus looked at Annabeth, the latter expected to see some emotion flash before his eyes since she knew that she betrayed her, but what glanced at her was an emotionless and empty gaze. "In the flesh." He said.

'No— that's not him,' She inwardly denied.

The Marcus she knew was a serious but fun guy, he was lively and outgoing even, but the Marcus here is stark contrast to what she believed the latter was.

He was gloomy and miserable, there was not a hint of emotion nor empathy in his eyes, though he looked physically fit and powerful she could feel that the latter had no energy at all.

"You! No matter then, nothing will change! What can a measly demi-god change?" Kronos laughed in ridicule at the futile effort the latter was about to put up but instead of being intimidated by Kronos, the traitor of the camp, Marcus, shrugged his comment off as if it was a mere tantrum from a pitiful child.

The Titan Lord saw the ridicule in Marcus's eyes, He felt insulted, for a mere fledgeling and a bastard like him to show pity on him was more insulting than slapping him in the face.

His face—- Luke's face, contorted into ugly angle as a show of his anger.

"How dare you look at me with such ridicule! I will send you to the deepest parts of Tartarus and torture you worse than Sisyphus!" He bellowed. His roar shook the foundation of Olympus.

Sisyphus was the guy who was punished by Zeus, Marcus's father for disregarding the code of Hospilaty, which falls under Zeus's domain, he tricked the gods many time and regarded himself more powerful than the gods.

For this insult Zeus the Godking of Olympus punished the mortal by sending him into the underworld and making him push a boulder up a hill only for it to become heavy and roll back down again when it near its end, he had to do this for eternity. A perpetual suffering for a man, a mortal who deemed himself more powerful than the Gods.

Remaining as silent as one could be, the latter ignored the Titan Lord's threat which made the Titan Lord even more furious.

"I will have you pay for insulting me!" He screamed in a primal roar. His signature weapon, the Scythe, reappeared back on his hands and he stomped it into the ground.

All around the Throne Room, time itself slowed down. Percy couldn't move without difficulty, it was like he was swimming in a mud, so hard to move and so slow. Everything is restricted.

Annabeth and Grover too were experiencing the same thing and the Titan Lord expected Marcus to be the same.

But reality is often disappointing, even for a mighty being who once brought Olympus to its golden age.

All around Marcus, sparks of dark lightning crackle and enveloped him as if tiny little snakes coiling around their beloved tree.

Without much difficulty he took a step and continued walking, as if the Chronomancy of the Lord of Time didn't do shit.

And that's saying a lot. The Chronomany of the literal Lord and Titan of Time didn't have effect on Marcus.

You know things are impressive when even the literal incarnation of Time itself can't stop you.

'This is not possible!' Kronos screamed inside his mind. Luke also heard his grandfather's desperate scream, and that's when he realized things are going to a different direction than he expected.

Kronos cannot scream outside because that would hurt his pride, not only his pride but also his image.
