Chapter 32

.Chapter 32

Marcus had become the talk of Kijin Academy, with all kinds of rumors about him spreading like wildfire. Some thought he was the child of Susanoo, the god of storms. Others said he belonged to the Lightning Clan, known for controlling lightning. And guess what? He really was the son of a lightning deity from another land, which made things even more interesting.

In the academy's halls and courtyards, these stories thrived without proof, making Marcus the center of attention. But Marcus himself was surprised by all the attention. His recent show of power had caught everyone's eye, and he hadn't even realized he was that strong.

This all happened after he absorbed 80% of the Master Bolt's power. It transformed him inside out, making his bones, muscles, and lightning stronger than ever. People can even compare him to Hercules, the famous hero, though it wasn't clear if Marcus was stronger. What was clear is that Marcus was the mightiest demigod in Greek history, even though he hadn't learned to control his raw power yet.

Beneath his incredible strength, Marcus had untapped potential waiting to shine. As the rumors swirled around him, a big question hung in the air: How strong could Marcus become if he learned to use his power properly? No one knew the answer, but it was a question that held everyone's attention, waiting for what came next.

Camp Half-Blood:

It has been almost two weeks since the unfortunate event of Marcus's supposed betrayal happened. Camp was about to end since summer had neared its end and yet despite the usual chattery and liveliness the Camp was in misery.

Marcus, though only having been inside the Camp for a short time, his presence and interaction with them ingrained a deep sense of camaraderie to all of those in the camp.

From his playful jokes, his funny pranks, his occasional flirting with them. All of it established a deep connection to all of the Campers that's why when they were betrayed by him they felt hurt. Pained.

Percy sighed. Looking at the big and luxurious marble cabin in the middle of the camp, he was feeling down ever since the Marcus's Incident. And it was not just him but all of the Campers in Camp Half-Blood.

Annabeth in the distance looked at Percy with a sad gaze, she walked to his side with heavy footsteps and said.

"What's the matter, kelphead?" She asked. Percy looked at her and said.

"Nothing," He answered, then a deafening silence permeated in the air as only the occasional sound of the tides from the lake hit the shore.

"Do you really think he betrayed us?" He asked with a bit of pain in his voice.

Yes, he was quite sad when Marcus left, he was good to him even though he mostly beat him up in sparring but at least in the entire camp Marcus didn't avoid him when he learned that Poseidon was his father.

He was one of the campers he could call a friend, a genuine one. Marcus was the one who brought him into the camp when he collapsed fighting the minotaur, and he was also the one who taught him how to fight by beating him up and giving him some advice.

And most important of all, even though they were sons of two enemies, the two of them didn't hated each other.

"All evidence leads to him being the traitor, you saw it, even the Gods intervened," She said in a pained and sad tone.

"I know it… I was there to see it…"

"But…

…. maybe… just maybe, just for once don't think with logic but with your heart… as a friend. Maybe he really isn't the trator, maybe he's been framed." He said before turning around and leaving.

Annabeth was left standing alone with Percy gone. She pondered his words and for the first time she really wanted her logic to be incorrect.

She had always based her answer in life with logic and evidence as the daughter of the goddess of wisdom, and that was true even for now. Everything is starting to become awry.

Now she was even doubting if her dream to be an architect for olympus was truly what she wanted.

She heard a clop of a horse shoe and looked to her right side to see Chiron who was also looking a bit sad at the Marble cabin.

"Annabeth, I know you are hurt by your friend's betrayal but you know that you must move on." He said.

"Child… don't let a single mishap in your life hinder your goal… the past is meant to be there to remind us of the failure and struggles we have faced, we must not shackle ourselves into that past but we must use that to propel ourselves into our future," Chiron said with wisdom. For a centaur who has been alive since the age of Kronos, Chiron is very old so he knows a thing or two.

But even with all of his wisdom and experience, he failed to figure out who the true traitor was.

"Annabeth, fetch Percy and go to the attic, a quest awaits."

Chiron said and with a last nod he walked away or should it be more appropriate to say he clopped away.

Annabeth was left to ponder Chiron's words and after giving herself some time to gather her thought she walked away and headed towards Poseidon Cabin.

Annabeth and Percy along with Groover were given a quest to retrieve the bolt. Why is there a need to retrieve the bolt you ask? Well because it was not lost but thrown.

Yes, they did manage to figure out the thief but the fact that the Master bolt was still not on Olympus was another matter.

The Gods who descended didn't manage to get the bolt from Marcus as he threw it far away with a speed even they, a God, can't catch up.

When they figure out that they can't catch up to ut they all decided to head back to instead apprehend Marcus but alas, even he got away from them.

It was their biggest humiliation in the last thousand years. So now they are giving the task to retrieve the lost, not stolen, Lightning Bolt to the Campers. And that campers are Annabeth, Percy and Grover.
