12 chapter 11-All is right

Leaving school at last was nice. I was able to increase my grades and I wasn't expelled. Which makes this even better. With this, I know that I'll make my Mom proud.

For the rest of the school year after Mrs. Dodds left was quiet. My friend group got closer and I still trained after midnight. At times when the monsters came I was able to sharpen up my swordsmanship, I worked on my Parry, slash, dodge, strike, stab, lunge, feint, sweep, block, advance, and more. I think my favorite was the parry. It's so fun. The vertical slash is also fun.

I also was finally able to find out how much I can currently carry. I just made a block of ice. One ton of ice is 2,000 pounds. So I just increased it till I couldn't handle it anymore. I first started with 5 tons, which is 10,000 pounds. It was nothing, so I doubled it, to 10 tons which is 20,000 pounds. I doubled it again. I increased it to 20 tons, which is 40,000.

I then got bored so I quadrupled it. Which is where I fell to the ground. It was a bit too much. So I took away some of the ice and went down to 50 tons, where it was hard to carry but I still stood. I increased it to 60 tons which I had to stop so that what happened with the 80 tons wouldn't happen again.

I stagnated in my increase in speed compared to before. I only went up to 170 mph. Disappointing but better than nothing. I also started making water bullets. I accidentally destroyed a few trees. Not a good idea, at all.

I then had to plant a few trees, which was lenient coming from the dryads. I suppose they must like me.

Anyway, I was able to make them go fast, sadly it was slower than a bullet. This makes sense because a bullet can go two times the speed of sound. I don't have that type of control underwater.

There's no way at this moment I could go that fast. I also made a water cannon. It does take a lot out of me to use it. There's a slight recoil and I don't have enough practice with it so I need to be careful with it.

Okay, I put too much focus on what I did at night but it's pretty important to think about. I mean water bullets, water cannons. I don't even know why I would need a sword unless I just want to play around in a fight. Which would be dumb of me. Unless whoever I'm fighting is weak.

Anyway, I keep getting sidetracked. I said bye to everyone I knew. Then left on the bus. With Grover by my side. Having to go by bus to get home was okay, to say the least. I mean the drive was hectic. Grover kept looking sick right next to me, he was way too pale for my liking.

"Hey Grover, buddy, pal, you sure you're okay."

"Huh, yeah I'm fine." He said with a shaky thumbs up.

Pffft... That... was... I don't know what to call it. It felt like Dejavu as if he should be spitting blood out.

"Hem hem, well if you're sure."

For the rest of the ride, we sat in silence. More me than him. He was making groaning sounds.

After getting to our stop we hailed a cab and went to my mother's apartment. After getting out Grover got a card out of his pocket.

"This is my address and phone number. Call me if you need anything, okay Percy."

"You don't want to come in?"

"No, I can't, I just wanted to walk you home. I'll be going now, bye."

"Bye Grover, take care."

I watched him walk away until he was out of sight. I then turned my attention towards the apartment building and opened the door. Time to face the music. I walked up the stairs towards the apartment door. I opened the door and entered.

There I saw Gabe and his poker buddies. I can't believe I forgot about smelly Gabe, he is in his pot belly, tank top wearing, smelly as garlic pizza glory. Did I forget to mention smelly? Still, I suppose I forgot about him because he didn't show himself that much in the books, well book. Only a few scenes with him.

"Pip squeak you're here. Good, give me some of your taxi money."

"Don't get any." I could probably deck him and his friends but mom would show up any minute now and I don't want her to worry. Oh if only, for now, he's safe. When we leave he won't be.

He then got up patted me down, took my backpack, searched through it, and found nothing.

"Seems you were telling the truth,*sniff*, well get to your room and don't bother me."

So I went to my former room which Gabe uses as his office. Which isn't an office because there is nothing in there except for a bed, a desk, a chair, and a ton of magazines.

Heh, he fell for it. I threw my money out of my pocket the moment I saw him. I threw it to the room hallway floor but I picked it up without him noticing. I have an amazing aim after everything I've gone through.

I waited out in the room just wondering when I'll see my mom. I mean she's the most amazing mother in the world. Her beautiful brown hair and eyes are as warm as chocolate milk on a nice night. Her smile to me was as warm as a quilt.

I then hear a knock on the door. In comes my Mother and all is right in the world. I get off my bed and rush towards to hug her. She laughs softly and gives me a tender smile.

"How's my little boy doing, I do hope you've been behaving yourself. I haven't checked whatever mail that the school has sent."

"Nope, no trouble from me. I've been doing great since the end of the school year."

"Really, well done then. I knew you could do it. I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks, Mom, you know I even got my grades up."

"Wow, and how did you do that, my sweet little boy."

"Well, I-", before I could finish that sentence smelly Gabe entered the room. That damn piece of trash, how dare he ruin my moment with my mom. I'll tear you to pieces. I hate that mom had to marry you just so she could protect me.

"Sally, where's that bean dip, me and the boys are getting hungry. Hey boy knock that glare out of your face or I'll knock it off for you."

Before I could say anything my Mom stood in front of him trying to tranquilize the situation.

"Now, now, there's no true need for violence in this apartment. I'll go get you some bean dip."

That made smelly Gabe pause and think it over, for whatever reason, and walked away.

That did calm me down though, I can't go against my mother's wishes. Ugh, this just had to be one of them. I can't exactly hit smelly Gabe now.

"Oh, and Percy I have some of that candy we like, the blue ones. Have some while you wait. Oh, and we're going to Montauk in a few minutes ."

I already knew this but I at least have to act surprised.

"That's awesome Mom, thank you."

"Of course now just wait here; I need to make sure Gabe agrees to this."

Oh, this is going to be great. First I see Mom, get blue candy, and go to Montauk. I can't wait to kill a Minotaur.

So for a few seconds, I waited for Mom and eventually, she walked back into the room.

"Alright, Percy, me, and Gabe talked and we're going to be driving to Montauk in his Camaro. So I need you to pack your stuff and get ready"

"Mom, I already have my stuff and I'm already ready."

"Ah, I see well then I am the one who needs to get ready."

So then I had to wait another few minutes. Where we were then able to leave but before that I got a talking to from Gabe.

"Not one scratch kid, not one scratch."

"Not like I'm the one who's going to be driving it. I'm only twelve."

"Hey you don't get to talk like that to me, say you're sorry."

I almost didn't say sorry till I saw the look in my mom's eye. Damn, looks like I'm going to have to say sorry for appearance's sake.

"I'm sorry for insulting you with a fact."

He seemed to mull it over till he nodded like he had just done the hardest equation in the world. Ha, he couldn't even tell that was an insult. How sad is that?

We left the apartment with smelly Gabe glaring at me from behind. I then used some nearby water to make him slip. *Snicker*Mom said I couldn't cause violence while in the apartment, we're not in the apartment right now.

I entered the Camaro with a smile from ear to ear, while my Mom just entered while trying not to smile at Gabe's misfortune. In the end, she did smile. Yup, all was right in "my" world.
