chapter 5

Percy felt it... The beginning of his new hellish days of school. But He woke up near 2 am and looked bored...

Percy put on his clothes and a sweater. Percy snuck out once more... Just to walk and clear his mind.

Percy left Manhattan and ventured off into the woods. Percy was able to feel something clouding his mind, but it was weak... So very weak.

At least compared to the stuff in yharnam. Because yharnam stuff kills you, and this lures you.

..but he would let it slide because it smelled of hamburgers.

[aunty em's emporium]

Percy read it before checking his wallet. Okay, 163 bucks, that's enough for a late-night snack.

[A/N: ^ keep in mind, a normal human/demigod, is different than hunters. The hunters are faster, so walking could be sprinting for some people]

"Excuse me?" Percy knocked on the door.

There were scattering footsteps inside the building before the door opened, and out came out lovely Medusa.

"Are you selling hamburgers," Percy asked staring the woman directly in her eyes.

"Of course, please come inside, aunty em's is always open," the woman smiled.

Percy walked past her, and instinctively Medusa flinched. She really couldn't smell, or feel his presence.

"A regular burger please," Percy said as he put his money on the counter.

Percy did get his hamburger and coke. (Sadly not the white kind).

"So. What's your story? Everyone has one," Percy asked taking a sip of his soda.

Percy had known she was a monster the moment he saw her. But honestly, he didn't feel any killing intent, so he let her slide.

You know, the book How to pick up fair maidens really came in clutch. Medusa had sat and chatted with Percy for a while, and he did the same.

"May I see your hand for a second?" I asked as I held out my hand.

And she did, she gave Percy her hand. Percy closed his eyes and concentrated.

*Crack*

[User has undone ??? Curse.

Curse breaking has leveled up]

Huh, didn't think that would work. There had been books about curses and the like in Gehrman's workshop.

"Mmm, your curse is... Semi broken. You won't turn people into stone at least by looking at them. Mmm, I might need to do some research on this.

This curse seems to be... Divine so to speak. How curious, if you don't mind me asking what... No, who placed this on you," Percy asked looking Medusa in her eyes.

Medusa's eyes showed surprise, then blinked. She was stunned, who knew this random demigod had this type of power?

"...names have power, Percy. If I were to say her name, she would know of my curse being undone. You should know why demigod," Medusa smiled sadly.

"How to pick up fair maidens" came in clutch for our young Percy... Also because he had the looks to go with it.

"I see... So names are a no-go. And so the person is a female too? That'll be useful to know. Thank you Medusa, if I see her again, I'll punch her in the face for you," Percy said as he got ready to leave.

"Ah, but if you do want to know... Look into the goddess of wisdom, but be wary son of Poseidon, going against those types of gods is never a good thing. You'll end up like me, or the many others done wrong by the gods," she said as she gave Percy another bag.

[You've discovered your heritage. Affinity with water increased]

Inside were two more hamburgers and some fries. It seemed Medusa took a liking to our young demigod hero.

[Keep your word.

Description: a promise is a powerful thing.

Goal:punch ??? In the face

Reward: interest of ???]

Percy smiled softly as he disappeared. But to Medusa, he was... Gone. She blinked once and suddenly he wasn't anywhere near the premises.

...

Percy continued his walk and made it back to New York pretty easily, and Percy bought some candy to eat. Medusas hamburgers were going to be saved for the morning.

Percy was currently thinking about things. From what Medusa had said there's God's in this world, And they were assholes.

Percy wished Eileen was here, to give him guidance, but that's only possible when he sleeps. And as a hunter, he doesn't need sleep, sleep needs him.

Upon walking into an alleyway, he saw one of those one-eyed people that he had seen when he was younger.

[Name: cyclops

Title: beast]

Beast? Say less.

Percys saw cleaver was delivered by the little ones, and he killed it. No hesitation, that's what Eileen taught him, and he wasn't going to let her teaching go to waste.

Percy wasn't able to kill it, but eventually, he did by tearing it apart. It seemed all the monsters here shared this trait.

So, Percy's hunt led him into deep into the woods. Beast the lot of them.

A set of paws caught Percy's attention, lots of them.

"A son of Poseidon? Out in the woods and out of his element?" A voice came from the darkness in the woods.

Out of the shadows came a wolf-like man, a lycanthrope, and not just any, but their king. Lycaon.

"Beast... Foul beast," Percy whispered. His hunt is about to begin a new one.

Now the pack certainly tried to kill Percy, but he was faster and smarter. But that's the thing. Percys saw blade passed through them.

So the solution was simple. Percy threw his saw blade into the air and when it hit the ground the little ones collected them.

Percy's clothes changed into his hunter set, and now the claws of the beast couldn't harm it unless they aimed for his face.

Percy threw oil, and then a Molotov, and surprisingly, that worked on the wolfs, but not the leader. The smaller ones faded into shadows, but there was still a bit more.

Percy's weaponry appeared to be lacking it seemed, but Percy snapped the neck of one of the wolves and stomped on another's head.

*Wizz*

An arrow had been shot and impaled itself into one of the wolves... It killed it.

Percy's eyes gleamed, finally something to kill with. Percy picked up the arrow, snapped it, and used it like a blade, a cheap one though.

"You're mine," Percy said his eyes gleaming red as he looked up on Lycaon.

"Fuck. This isn't supposed to be happening. They were supposed to be in California," the king had yelled, only for it to fall to death's ear.

More arrows came out to deal with the other wolf people. Percy had tried to punch Lycaon, only to miss and punch the tree behind him.

The tree snapped... Or exploded and caused it to fall, only to land on one of the remaining wolves.

Percy tackled Lycaon to the ground, and no matter how this beast tried to claw, and bite his way out of his grasp he couldn't.

Percy stabbed Lycaon with the arrow. Over... And over... And over. Until finally, it turned to dust.

Percy got up, dusted himself on, and looked to the group of girls that still had bows pointed at him.

But Percy stared at a certain one, his bloodlust disappeared entirely, and now a smile on his face.

"You there, you're a hunter too aren't you," Percy smiled at the silver-eyed maiden.

The wolfs around the girl growled and shifted back. They smelt danger, knew danger, but still stood ready to attack.

Such loyal dogs. Percy would need to find himself one.

"Stand down," the silver-eyed girl looked weary. And the girls behind her followed her orders.

Percy looked at his hand and noticed the arrow, so he handed it back.

"My name is Percy, but please do not be alarmed my fellow hunter I mean no harm to you," Percy said before taking off his hat and taking a polite bow.

"... Artemis will suffice," she said. Before turning to the maidens she was traveling with. "Set up camp, we will camp here before returning to Olympus for the meeting."

"Lady Artemis it is," Percy smiled before putting on his hat again.

After a while, Percy shifted awkwardly before gazing off into the distance.

"It's almost morning. So I apologize for cutting our meeting but I have school soon my lady," Percy said before turning around.

Percy gazed around before realizing something.

"Ah... You guys don't know the way to New York, right? I'm afraid I'm lost," Percy said awkwardly.

A snort was heard through the camp, and heads turned to a girl who looked awkwardly at the attention.

"Aha, I guess it is kinda funny. Please go ahead I don't mind," Percy laughed too.

"Northeast," a girl with a silver circlet hair band said.

Percy's smile widened, and then he pulled out a hunter's bell and handed it the his fellow hunter.

"Please do call me if you are in need of cooperation. As fellow hunters, we have to rely on each..." Percy began saying but now that he was close to Artemis he felt it, or more accurately saw it.

the woman's divine form. insight was capable of seeing the world for what it truly was. and percy had already seen things that would have driven a normal human insane, but he was a hunter.

"Ow fuck," he said clenching his eyes. The frenzy began taking over his eyes.

"Stay back," Percy said as he got away from the girls, Percy desperately patted his body for the sedatives that Eileen forced him to carry.

"What's going on," one of the young hunters asked frantically.

"I do not know. My only assumption is he gazed upon my dive form. But that is impossible," Artemis had said.

Percy had drunk his sedative just in time and it tasted like absolute shit. Percy's eyes fucking hurt.

[Skill {pain reduction} has upgraded to 90 %]

"Pardon my cursing. It is not something I partake in, but as you can see I'm not in the right state at the moment," Percy said clenching his head.

Percy's eyes finally opened and gazed at the goddess.

"... As I was saying, we hunters can only rely on each other. Please ring the bell, no matter where you are, I will be there. And may the good blood guide your way," Percy said taking another bow.

Percy left clenching his fist. But now he learned something. His vision allowed him to see the god's divine form, for better or worse.

Percy blinked the dots out of his eyes. Normally this would have killed him, but he had 7 insight. Percy theorized that 10 and he would be able to see their forms.

...

Artemis was having an inner turmoil at the moment. That man... No, that son of Poseidon was connected to her domain.

A hunter.

Who would have thought huh? A spawn of Poseidon being a hunter, and even going so far as to offer cooperation.

Artemis held the bell he had given her and inspected it. Something about it was ancient, and she knew it was a magical item, but not not it worked.

That was hecates area of expertise. Sigh, why did all the children of Poseidon have to bring such problems?

"Let's move to Olympus. Tonight is the winter solstice," Artemis told her hunters.

"My lady... Is it wise to trust that ... Boy. His eyes showed pure malice," Zoe Nightshade had asked as they finished packing everything.

Artemis stared at the moon before turning to her lieutenant, she bit her lip and shifted nervously.

"...he is dangerous true, but he meant no harm to us. His goal is hunting monsters, as we saw by the massive trail of dust in his wake. He hunts not for pleasure... But for a necessity or at least he believes so," she finally said.

The question was how would the council handle the news of a child of Poseidon after Zeus's child Thalia was turned into a tree.

Death? Maybe that would have been preferable. Somehow Artemis knew that would be a very challenging fight.

Artemis knew if they had engaged in a fight, her hunters would have been killed in the aftermath. Not a risk she would take willingly.

She watched him being attacked, bit and scratched, and healed himself as he attacked Lycaon. Artemis was sure if he had a proper weapon he would have destroyed the monsters in an instant.

Perhaps... A gift would be in order. He was a hunter sure, but a good one. So Artemis will place her trust in a boy only once. Just once.

Artemis summed one of her blades, a silver hunting knife, and spun it in her hand. Yeah... Just this once. She shall watch this hero on his journey.

"Do not let me misplace my trust demigod," she said before throwing her dagger.

...

Percy was about to arrive back into his dorm, but before he did, he caught a hunting knife that would have hit him in the shoulder.

"Do not let me misplace my trust demigod," a note that was written on a note, but Percy read the PS.

"Use this for monsters. It'll kill them permanently."

A smile touched Percy's lips and he spun the dagger in his hand. It felt perfect for his grip, and it turned into a ring on his finger when not in use.

"Until we meet again lady Artemis," Percy said as he snuck into his dorm again.

Oh, how little Artemis knew how much trouble this fellow hunter would be in the near future.

But what can he do, hunters must stick together.

(End of chapter)

I'm thinking of making Percy's personality kinda like solaires. Unless he's on the hunt.

Also, won't be doing relationship in the beginning. Maybe in the future.
