chapter 13

Percy slaughtered his way through the cathedral ward, killing every beast he could find. His reasoning? If he killed them all, he wouldn't need to watch his back.

And totally not because he had plans to set up a decent area free of the beast, and since central yharnam is big... It would make a good spot for people.

Some of the beasts he had seen before, others... We're new. The tall giant ones moved slow, but attacked hard.

If Percy saw a gate he could open, he did. But he had returned to the dream once more, said hello to the doll, and repaired his weapon.

Percy smiled at the doll before appearing in the cathedral ward again. Imagine Percy's surprise when he saw Eileen standing outside of the entrance.

"Ah disciple you're here I have come with a warning."

...

That warning proceeded to be ignored.

Percy clenched his teeth as he clashed with henryk. Judging by how fast this man healed, he was definitely close to being a beast.

Percy opted to use his daggers instead of his normal saw blade. The reason was simple: he can parry an attack with one, and attack with the other.

Percy was slammed into the gravestones, and then rolled to get his footing once more.

Percy was adapting, and learning through this fight. Like now.

Percy raised his gun and fired, and used his stagger to drive his blade deep into the man's neck, before pulling away.

Percy added a spin to his roll to kick the dagger deeper into the man.

"Return"

The dagger pierced through the man's jaw and returned back to Percy.

"Rahhhhhhhh," a pricing scream came from the man and Percy threw himself out of the way.

This man just got faster, not in a good way.

"You never do listen to your elders do you?" Percy flinched as he heard Eileen's voice.

Eileen proceeded to join the clash. Where she lacked in defense, Percy made up for it. He was more resilient than Eileen for one.

Percy clashed with Hendrik and decided on something stupid. He dropped his knives, and grabbed henryk arm, preventing him from swinging his saw blade anymore.

Wrong choice however as henryk used percy's grip to pick him up and slam him into the ground.

Percy braced for impact, and rolled the follow up strike. Eileen cut the hunter's ankles and Percy's knife sunk deep into the man's neck.

"Return," Percy said as the knife was yanked out of the hunter's neck. The hunter fell to the floor after such a powerful blow.

"I'm getting too old for this," Eileen said as she popped her back.

Percy sighed before cleaning his blade.

"You are," Percy said before chuckling as he saw Eileen raise her eyebrow.

...

Percy was having a moment to himself before he prepared himself for the depths of the cathedral ward.

He looked around and only realized it now... But he was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

No matter what he did, the beast continued to run rampant in the city. No matter how much he killed they appeared almost endless.

Every single time Percy cleared an area to make a semi safe zone, the beast would fill them each and every goddamn time.

Percy felt his frenzy going up bit by bit. This... This shit was insanity. Percy... He couldn't make a difference in the place... No matter what he tried to do.

He drank his sedative to calm the frenzy. He gazed at the moon... And somehow it felt off... He couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching him.

"Foul beast," the beast yelled as he saw me chilling on top of a fence.

Percy clenched his throwing knife and threw it. This time, it did hit an enemy.

The problem was that it bounced off a lamp, hit a flame sprayer, and impaled itself into one of the eyes of the beast.

Percy hopped off the fence, he knew the more he killed, the more appeared, There was no changing this.

So he did what he did best.... Hunt.

He was light on his feet, and he made damn sure to never get hit. Sure he was immune, but he'll rather not risk it

But as he was killing... A thought came to him. If Percy could theoretically make a protection barrier big enough to cover an area.

This way the beast can't come in, and the humans can come and go.

Percy's pistol was raised and his dagger was found deep into the beast's neck. Now... Percy ran into a new problem, because while he took out this musket person a dog tried and bit percy's arm

Its teeth shattered, and Percy delivered a rib breaking kick before slicing the dog's throat.

Speaking of dogs, he has been meaning to get a wolf companion.... Totally not because he was jealous.

"HOW MANY OF YOU FUCKERS ARE THERE," Percy yelled.

Everytime he cleared the place, it seemed like double of them spawned.

In all honesty, Percy had no clue how the fuck he wasn't clinically insane yet. No wonder people go insane most of the time.

"A hoonter must hoont," Eileen's voice echoed in his head.

Yes... That's what he knew... And that's what he did. He was still a kid, so he had the agility advantage, and the skill to go along with it.

It didn't matter what it was, give Percy a weapon, and you can best believe he knew how to use it.

Percy decided to test something. He drew the protection rune where the fountain was, then drew a circle and connected it. Just to see if it will stop the beast from entering when he leaves.

...his theory... Was right.

Percy was able to keep the beast out.. that was major progress. He was definitely going to have to ask hel to teach him runes.

Percy stood in his barrier and smiled. Genuinely. Sure oedon chapel was safe, but it wouldn't be able to house many people.

After all, there was a certain limit of space, and not everyone will want to be trapped inside it.

Here at least it was bigger. More room to walk around in. We could build off of this place.

Of course that only left the problem of people accidentally going beast. Definitely going to ask hel for more for the runes.

Since he didn't want just anyone to waltz in here and begin killing people. No, he wanted everyone safe.

Percy blinked as normal... And suddenly in the middle of the barrier was a lamp ...

This began raising percy's suspension. What exactly were these lamps, and why in the hell are they in places they shouldn't be.

...maybe... It's time to question gehrman.
