15 CH.15 Meting The Goddess Of The Hearth

It takes me a few minutes to remember where I am and not freak out, I looked outside and see that Apollo has started pulling the sun which means that it's six in the morning.

I have made it a priority in this new life to stick to a sleeping schedule, as in my last life I had none, and I had difficulty waking up. I get out of my sleeping bag and put it in my inventory, and like the shadow, I leave the cabin without making so much as a sound.

Being able to control darkness and shadows gives you a pretty good ability to sneak around, after coming outside to see the morning sun I start my daily routine. First, I stretch, then I start running.

I started running around the camp to exercise and familiarize myself by making a mental map of the camp. As I'm about to run I see a campfire, I don't know why but I felt something deep inside me call out to the campfire, so I went to figure out what this feeling was.

As I got closer to the campfire, I spotted someone, it was a little girl tending to the campfire, she looked about eight years of age and had mousy brown hair and red eyes which would be weird if I wasn't in camp for demigods.

"Hey kid, dint your parents teach you not to play with fire," I said as I got close enough to her.

She seemed surprised and then turned to me when she turned to me, I could now see her eyes in more detail, her eyes seemed to have a fire inside of them, but it was a warm soothing fire that enveloped you on a cold day, giving you all the heat you could need.

"you're talking to me?" she asked pointing at herself.

"I don't see anyone else here," I said and squatted by her.

"Now I know it might look fun to play with fire but it's dangerous and you can get hurt easily, so I'm going to have to stop you," I said.

She looks at me for a few seconds and then started to giggle, that giggle turned into full-blown laughter.

"This isn't a joke kid," I said seriously.

"First of all, I'm not a child and second this isn't a normal fire but the heart of the camp, let me introduce myself, nephew, I'm Hestia," she said with a warm smile.

After she said that it all made sense, so much so that I felt bad about not figuring it out faster," oh sorry" I said and then started watching the flames.

"it's fine nephew anyone would make the mistake with my current appearance," Hestia said while tending the hearth.

"Yea Hestia, how come you look like a kid btw," I asked bluntly, I was never one for social constructs, if I want to ask you something ill ask, it's your choice whether you tell me or not, and I don't care how important you are even if you're a god or goddess.

"Ah well I'm not as powerful as the rest of my siblings," Hestia said with a little sadness.

"So not that many believers got it," I said and continued watching the fire.

"Oh well, I didn't expect you to know that did hades tell you," Hestia said looking surprised.

"No, I study mythology and figure it out on my own," I said.

"Well, aren't you a smart one," Hestia said.

"How about this if ever get a chance ill help you get some followers," I said.

"oh, and why is that," she said curiously.

"For being one of my favorite goddesses in mythology, especially in Greek mythology," I said.

"Hehe, thank you but don't trouble yourself nephew I'll be fine," Hestia said.

I sat around the fire watching it burn and glow for a few minutes, the flames made me feel warm and safe like I was at home with mom, I enjoyed this feeling until I had to get up and continue my morning exercise, I said by to Hestia and went for my run.

In my run I passed a few interesting places, a coliseum that looked as if it hasn't aged a day, I'm sure historians would drool over it, a forge where I can only guess the children of Hephaestus were working at, the sounds of metal striking metal seem to fall into a rhythm. The most interesting parts of my run were the stables where they kept actual Pegasus, those were a sight to see, next was a lave climbing wall which I'm sure I won't be going on and last but least the forest in the final part of me running I saw tree nymphs and stairs, it made the camp give off a more magical effect.

Soon I started returning to cabin eleven were waiting for me there seemed to be the greyed eye girl, now that I got a better look I her I could tell that she was really pretty, she had tanned skin and a slender athletic body which I'm finding out almost every demigod has 'running away from monsters must be a great way to burn calories she had long and curly blond honey hair, she looked like a typical Californian girl if it wasn't for the grey eyes which seemed to throw it all off. Right now, she was looking angry and even more so when she saw me.

"There you are, where were you," she asked pointing at me.

I looked at her, she had an annoyed and angry expression on her face, but honestly, I couldn't care, I just finished exercising and I'm sweaty right now all I want to do is take a shower and eat something. So, I did what I thought was best in this situation, I teleported away. More specifically I teleported to the nearest hotel where I could take a nice and relaxing shower without anybody bothering me.
