No plan

I raced through the crowd to catch up with the goat boy, but almost as if I had been seeing things he vanished. I stood in place stunned at his disappearance when Hermione caught up.

"What was that about, Percy?

"I thought I'd seen Grover." I replied still looking around at the people in strange robes giving me weathering glances as if I was a nuisance.

"Who?" Hermione was looking around as well, even if she didn't know what he looked like.

"He is a satyr and my best friend."

Before we got more distracted, Hermione took my hand in her smaller one. Looking down at our linked hands she started to pull me away from the area.

"Percy" she said in a light tone. "I remember seeing the 'Faun's' in New Rome, and there are no creatures like that in the wizarding world. But... there are things in the magical world that can make you see things, things you long to see again." She spoke cautiously, as if she would startle me if she weren't careful. "For all we know what you've seen, was a spell that had gone awry. I'm sorry if we had more time I'd search with you, you know I would... but it might not be the best time." She gave me a sympathetic look. "How long has it been since you've seen Grover?"

"It's been a while. Grover is a searcher, he's been searching for years. I haven't seen or heard from him since the Titan war. I am worried about the little guy." But she was right. I longed to see him, and why would I think I'd seen him here of all places. Then I remembered "Hermione's prophesy.

-An unknown daughter and a legacy of water,

Will be lead to their slaughter

You will be betrayed by lover lost but in the end he'll pay the cost.

Should she die by celebration day, All is lost it's swam away-

The part that said "betrayal" No, Percy immediately denied his thoughts. Annabeth wouldn't, she has proven herself time after time. Then it has to be someone else. But he had gone down this road before. Trusting your friends is the only way to finish a mission.

"Percy?" Hermione said with a question in her voice.

He looked at her giving her silent consent to ask her questions.

"Are all demigods magic?"

He shook his head "At least not that I know of, there are some that do possess magic like abilities. The obvious ones being the Hecate children, but magic is the gods powers on a smaller scale. I'm not sure why Ollivander gave me this wand..." She was pondering again not letting him in on her musings.

Percy looked into Hermione's calculating eyes how likely it would be to see a satyr here. She was trying to fit together the pieces that were alluding us thus far. Looking down at this girl the love I have for her surprised me even now, her brown hair was cut just above the shoulders, her natural curls lay down in a mass catching light, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Lastly best feature is her chocolate brown eyes, their deep intelligent pools reminded me of home. I didn't know anymore, how I could survive without her in my life. Regardless of which of the gods have plans for her, or even this prophecy that looms over our heads, none of it mattered. I am going to protect her now and always I decided.

"Hermione?"

"Hmm?" She said eyes still searching for my friend.

"I love you." Startled for a second, our eyes caught each other's, she reached up to grasp my neck with her little hands. As our lips met she comforted my aching heart like nobody else has in a while. I wasn't over my love for Annabeth, I won't pretend what we had didn't mean something to me... but how it all went down in the end left a gaping hole inside. Hermione was the only balm to that wound, the only relief I'd ever received. We heard some cameras click in our direction in response to our kiss, but we didn't care.

"Well 'water boy' lets get you home, I'd like to see what else you can do with your wand."

"Which one" Percy asked wiggling his eyebrows.

She laughed but breathed in my ear "both..."

Hours later

"I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable discussing these matters with him" Ron interjected breaking the silence and sending a glare Percy's way.

"Funny, I don't feel comfortable with you at this table, yet you don't see me acting in a childish manner." Hermione snapped dryly.

"Order! I demand this bickering stop!" Sirius yelled banging his palm on the table giving us a icy glare.

"Well then, what's your plan?" Ron's mocking voice called from across the table, Percy was getting sick of the constant banter this guy was throwing at him. It had been going on for a while and Harry had even stopped attempting to stop his out bursts.

Percy exhaled before licking his dry lips, he looked up from the table at the people surrounding him waiting for an answer. "We prepare for all hell to break lose, and keep Hermione alive."

"That's not a plan!" Ron roared

"Who the bloody hell are you anyway!" Ron yelled, standing up. Over time Ron must have started seeing Percy as a threat, because he felt the guys anger at his every sentence.

"Percy Jackson…" Percy looked at him bewildered "I think we've covered this" Percy sighed and addressed the group of wizards. "There isn't much else to do, everyone. We only know so much. So we will just need to keep Hermione safe and go to the ceremony. I really don't know what else to do."

"Great! So no plan and that's it?"

"No, we just need to cover our bases, and do the best we can." Hermione said putting a hand on Percy's shoulder. Greatefull for her support I traced my palm on her face. The loving moment was interrupted by Ron's chair grinding across the floor.

"What's on your arm?" Ron interjected the couple. "A memory" Percy gave everyone a small smile before yawning obnoxiously. "Well, I don't know about everyone else in this room but it's been a long day." He backed out of the room slightly and turned on his heel disappearing into the dimly lit hallway. Holding Hermione's hand percy called back once more over his shoulder.

"Night everyone"

Demi-dreams sneaked into his head as they always did, if you could call them dreams.

That night I was watching my first quest. Annabeth, Grover and I were on an AM track train heading for Los Angeles. Since we couldn't afford sleeper seats we sat in regular ones. This was when Annabeth first told me her dreams of what she wanted to be when she grew up.

"I want to do that," she sighed.

"What?" I asked.

"Build something like that. You ever see the Parthenon, Percy?"

"Only in pictures."

"Someday, I'm going to see it in person. I'm going to build the greatest monument to the gods, ever. Something that'll last a thousand years."

I laughed. "You? An architect?"

The images changed and I was on top of a sky scraper and Annabeth and Grover we're forced to leave in the elevator without me. Suddenly I was standing off with a lady and her chihuahua .

The snake lady made a hissing noise that might've been laughter. "Be honored, Percy Jackson. Lord Zeus rarely allows me to test a hero with one of my brood. For I am the Mother of Monsters, the terrible Echidna!"

I stared at her. All I could think to say was: "Isn't that a kind of anteater?"

I woke up quickly after that almost wanting to laugh at my twelve year old self. But thinking back on the dream... There was something there... What was it?

editor's note:

I just reread the first book of Percy Jackson.... Man did the movie suck compared to the book. If you haven't already read the book I honestly suggest it Rick Riordan has more skill with his world than anyone else. Hope you enjoy
