9 Mom, I'm becoming a god.

Do you really want to hear all the embarrassing speeches I gave my mom?

Like, have you ever tried to explain to your mom that you're becoming a god?

I stammered and cried and choked so much that I needed Annabeth's help to finish telling the whole story. Léo and Alabaster even started laughing at me in the middle, satisfied?

Well, I will not say more than that, you already know how the situation is.

- By the gods, I knew your grandmother's spirit would pay for it someday. - It was the only thing my mother said when I finished telling my story. Shocked? So imagine me!

- My grandma is a spirit and is it all her fault? - I ask without thinking.

Everyone looks silently in my direction.

Léo falls into another crisis of laughter, how can this guy laugh so much even after he is dead?

- No, it's not what you're thinking. You know, your grandmother was kind of special. She had a connection with nature. - Hey, wasn't that the answer we were trying to avoid at all costs? What happened to the still with a chance that all of this is just an elongated growth phase?

- Was my grandma a shaman? - I ask not even tried to avoid the worst anymore.

- Oh! I already know a Witch! - Léo's guess as to if we had a guessing game.

- It can also be a nymph - Tyson replies with all the innocence of the world. Does anyone here have any idea that my mortality is at stake? Wait, isn't she always at stake? I think I already know what is weaving here. Everyone has war veteran syndrome, which is no surprise seeing everything we've been through. I look in Will's direction hoping he is still sane.

- Um, a fairy? - He responds when he realizes that I was looking at him. I'm done. Maybe I'm already crazy too.

- Please boys let me finish talking! - Complains my mother broke the weather.

Estelle starts to cry, Alabaster picks her up and starts playing with her. I fear he will drop it, or worse.

- Don't worry I'm good with children! - He complains.

- Speaking of boys, where is Annabeth? - Grover asks after having just chewed the flowers on the dinner table.

We all look around us.

My mom looked at me scared next to her Nico was sleeping on the couch in Will's lap, because he was feeling too bad. Grover was sitting on the dining table with the flower pot of water on his lap. Tyson is behaving nicely in one of the dining table chairs. Leo and Alabaster were looking for something to watch to distract Estelle. Annabeth is not here.

I get up ready to go look for her

- So you won't listen to me first? - Inquire my mother losing patience.

- Sorry mom wait just a little ok? - I don't even finish talking and head towards my room. I knew she was going to be there.

I open the door and find her sitting at my desk.

She had found my camp notes and was in the middle of a crazy equation that involved her own diary. I approach slowly and hug her from behind.

- What is the smartest girl I know doing this time? My mom will kill us if we don't let her finish her story about my grandmother. - She drops the pencil and turns to me.

- Do you realize how close we were? - She asks me in riddles as usual.

- Close to what? - I ask expecting an irritating answer.

- Come on Percy! To have a normal life! Just two more years and I would major in architecture. You would continue to help demigods from around the world. Together we could build a place where all the children of the gods and magical creatures could live together! - I raise an eyebrow and look at Annabeth. When I think I've seen it all, she always finds a way to surprise me!

- You sure think away smart girl. Do you really believe that I should give up university to help half-bloods full time? - I love the confidence she has in me, but if it were to give me a score in responsibility I would give it a two out of ten. Like, we try, right?

- But of course! Look, I really wanted you to continue studying and your mother thinks the same. But leading the camp is what you do best, and you love it! We've been through so much, I'm sure we'll find a way out of this. - I laugh and kiss her, so she allows me to talk too.

- You have already come up with a whole plan for us to clean up this mess before the summer holidays are over and there is still time to study for tests, right? - I say after I let go.

She looks at me, smiling, and protests.

- If I didn't do it, who would?

- And can you finish this after listening to my mother? I mean, I'm sure your plan is perfect, but it can get even better if we learn more about the situation. - I choose my words wisely not to touch any open wounds and look, demigods have thousands of these.

- Ok you convinced me.- She finally declares closing her notebook, and we walk hand in hand to the living room.

When we arrived in the room, the scene was practically the same as before.

Estelle drooled while sleeping on the lap of Alabaster that she watched, she had with Léo as if they were hypnotized. Grover was now attacking the table napkins. Nico and Will were still on the sofa with the difference that now Will had also fallen asleep.

Tyson was talking to my mom at the rainbow fountain about ... eggs?

- Hi what happened? - I ask while trying to calculate how much damage a god could have caused while I was not present.

Tyson turns to me with a flushed face and a silly smile on his face. At least the imminent destruction of the world is not.

- Ella laid Percy eggs! Ella laid eggs! - He jumps on me and starts to squeeze and shake me with the strength that only a cyclops have. - I will be Daddy Percy you believe! - No, I couldn't believe it. Ella and Tyson had only known each other for a year!

- Han? Eggs, father Tyson? - Repeats Leo trying to piece together the conversation.

- What's all that noise? - Question Nico was still half awake.

I escape his bear hug and look desperately in my mother's direction.

- We just received a message from iris from the camp, they want Tyson to return immediately to help Ella take care of the eggs. - She says between a smile and tears.

Everyone starts congratulating Tyson and patting him on the back. I stand there with my mouth open trying to process everything.

- I need to go back now! What do I do! We are miles from camp! Leo, can you teleport me over there? " Tyson starts to panic.

- Blackjack could take you there in half an hour. - I mention still a little stunned.

- Thanks, Percy! You are the best brother a cyclops could have! " His sea-green eye shines so brightly that I mentally start to rush Blackjack. "Where are you? Do you think you can come to the dick in less than twenty minutes?"

"Hi to you to boss! We haven't seen each other in a long time and that's how you greet me?" Apparently, he has recovered completely. Some time ago if I called him all he did was complain about his leg.

"Sorry, but I'm compressed, my mom is making a blue cookie mold just for you, do you think you can carry Tyson to camp?" The stomach always prevailed over a horse's brain.

"A cyclops is nothing for the great Blackjack! Did you say twenty minutes? I will be five!" I did not say?

- Mother, do we have enough cookies? - I ask praying that my plan worked out.

- Don't worry, for Blackjack I always keep an extra jar of cookies. - She already had a glass jar full of cookies in her hand. Why have I never found these cookies before?

A little while later we were all in the doorway wishing Tyson good luck while Blackjack devoured the cookies. Leo had another fit of laughter when he tried to imagine Tyson hatching eggs, I swear he will still die from one of these crises.

"Are you sure you don't need me for anything else, boss?" Blackjack asked as he tried to sniff out more cookies. I don't know if it was a real concern or gluttony.

- Don't worry buddy, I can handle myself. - I answer by giving Blackjack one last sugar cube.

"Very well! Passenger, please hold the Pegasus mane tightly." Blackjack said to Tyson as he took off.

We didn't have time to watch it disappear into the sky. Because, as soon as Blackjack took off, a shocked Paul let the week's grocery shopping fall to the ground.
