Chapter 14

Percy woke up with Crash in his arms sleeping peacefully. He gently picked Crash up and set him on the other side of the bed. Then he sat up and rubbed his eyes. He got out of his bed and performed some stretches.

With his body warming up he could feel some sort of change after yesterdays events. His aura felt a lot stronger than before he could feel the life energy coming from Crash and Jason in the other room.

Percy walked out of his room into a large living room. Jason was still asleep so Percy planned on conquering the Growlithe. Percy ate a quiet breakfast and set up Crash's food bowl. Then he went onto the Pokemart app on his phone and ordered general Pokémon food: 60 normal general Pokémon food.

He spent 1,200 pokedollars on food which was enough for 20 days of food with his current amount of Pokémon (3). He sat on a couch waiting for the food to come and planned out his day. He wanted to start out his day with making the Growlithe his friend.

Then he wanted to go shopping for his Pokémon and get them some TMs. After that he wanted to check out the food of the City and sell the Sentret he caught. After planning his day he decided to check his inventory. He had:

3 super potions

18 pokeballs

20 normal Totodile food

3 antidotes

He remembered that he got 10,000 pokedollars from Charlotte. Percy heard a knock on the hotel door and ran to open it. When he opened it there was a box but no one there. He opened the box and poured 3 bowls of Pokémon food.

Then he let out Fúria so that she can eat. After Fúria finished eating Percy fished out his Sentret pokeball and let it out. The Sentret was confused and scared but when it saw Crash it started to freak out. "Eat the food." Percy said.

After several minutes of consoling the Sentret had calmed down enough to eat but was still extremely nervous. After it ate Percy called it back to its pokeball and went to the small training ground with a bowl of Pokémon food.

He placed the bowl on the ground and told Fúria and Crash to be careful. Then he called out the shiny Growlithe in front of the food. The Growlithe looked confused and looked at its surroundings. When it saw Percy it started growling. It lunged at Percy but Percy stood there smiling.

Crash stepped forward and pinned the Growlithe down with his body. Fúria jumped up and held the Growlithes mouth down. After a minute of struggling intensely they still held on and the Growlithe stayed on the ground tired.

Percy walked up and sat down in front of the Pokémon. He sat there for a couple minutes just watching the Growlithes eyes that followed him. Percy reached out his hand toward the Growlithes head. When his hand was about to touch its head a sudden struggle that made Fúria loose her grip and the Growlithe bit Percys hand.

All Percy did was look into the Growlithes eyes and smile. Something deep in the Growlithe told it to let go of his hand. He let go and Percy continued on his path to the Growlithes head. This time Fúria wasn't there to hold its mouth as Percy signaled for her to stay.

Percys hand rubbed the top of the Growlithes head. The fur was soft and yellow. Growlithe closed its eyes and leaned into the gentle rubbing of Percys hand. Percy signaled at Crash to get off of it before standing up.

When he stood up the Growlithe looked up and walked to his side. "How does the name Pharaoh sound to you." Percy asked the Growlithe. The Growlithe growled its approval before looking toward the bowl of food on the ground. "Eat it. It's yours." The Growlithe walked forward and started eating. Now Percy felt he should recheck all the stats of his Pokémon.

Percy was pleasantly surprised with Fúrias progress and wanted to congratulate her. "You're awake." Percy heard Jason call out to him. He turned around and smiled. "Last night was the best sleep I've ever gotten in my life." Percy said. Jason smiled before looking down and seeing Percys hand. "Your hand is bleeding." Percy looked at his hand. "Oh." He completely forgot Pharaoh bit his hand.

He was so in the moment that he didn't feel the pain. "Do you have bandages?" Percy asked. He added a first aid kit to his shopping list. "Yeah, let's bandage you up." A few minutes later Percy sat on his bed with a bandaged hand. "Let's call Professor Oak to see what he wants us to do now." Jason suggested.

He pulled out his Pokédex and called the Professor. 'Hello?' "Hey Professor." 'Ah you boys have finally called. Did Charlotte get there safe? Her agency is hounding me over you getting her number. They said she requested a sponsorship for you? What the hell is going on.' Professor Oak asked. This was the first time Percy was hearing this so he raised his eyebrows and looked at Jason.

Jason's face turned sour and he said "She wouldn't let me go if I didn't give her my number so I decided to take advantage of the situation. I'm gonna milk her money dry." He smiled devilishly. Professor Oak looked at him with a concerned face. 'Alright, well do you know of the Prodigy Program I've been hosting?' "No, I haven't." Jason and Percy replied. 'Well I've brought together 13 prodigies that I've sponsored. Some are from poor families while others are from the biggest clans in Kanto. Most of them are talented in battling while some are geniuses in others aspects. Their seen by the public as the new generation of people who will take Kanto into greater heights. Today I'm officially announcing that you two are additions to the 13. I gave them their Pokédexs a week before you guys. They are all assembling in the front of the Honey Gym in 6 days from now. So get stronger and meet with them. I told them your names and said you were going to be at the designated location. Some might seek you out to battle, others might try to be friends, maybe they'll try and scout you out, see if your a threat. I suggest you don't make any problems with them. They are prodigies for a reason. Not that you guys aren't. There will be benefits. I'll give you all kinds of missions that will allow you great benefits. Anyway good luck!' Professor Oak immediately hung up.

Percy and Jason stared wordlessly as their brains absorbed the information. "What." Percy thought aloud. 'This wasn't part of the deal.' Now his identity was going to be publicized as an up and coming prodigy. This wasn't the peaceful growth he had hoped for.

Although he had benefits it was so vague he thought it would have been better if he had just not been told. "I guess we should try to meet the others." Jason said. "Yeah I guess." Percy replied. He was quite intimidated by the 'Prodigies'. It just sounded cool. 'I guess I'm part of the Prodigies now.' Percy thought. He thought that he should build good relationships with them. "I need to go shopping for things today so I guess we can try and meet them tomorrow." Percy said.

Jason nodded and stood up. "I need to do some stuff myself so I'll be occupied until 12. We can meet back here and go try some of the food in the city. I hear that the best honey in the world comes from this city." Jason said. "Alright that sounds good. We'll meet here at 12 then?" Percy replied. "Yep. See ya." Jason waved goodbye and left the hotel.

Percy recalled Crash and Pharaoh. They would cause too much commotion if somebody saw him with them. The only people in the world with shiny Growlithes are the leaders of the Arcanine Clan and leaders of the Jenny Clan. If somebody else had one they would be known as a sensation.

He thought he would attract near no attention if he walked around with a Mankey. Then he left the hotel and started on his way to the Pokemart. Although he could've ordered stuff to him there was something different about going there in person.

The Pokemart was a white 4 story tall building with its signature blue roof. There weren't any people except for a few wandering trainers. Most trainers didn't wake up early so they didn't shop until later. There was an elevator that had a sign in front of it.

1st floor: Pokémon items

2nd floor: Pokémon healing

3rd floor: Pokémon TMs

4th floor: Roof

Percy decided to go to the 3rd floor to get the most important things. When he arrived at the third floor there was just a counter with a person. They were wearing a white outfit with a blue vest. He walked up to the counter where he saw a catalog of all the TMs they sell. He flipped the pages of it until he found what he wanted.

Protect 500

The Protect TM was cheaper than he thought it would be. He got a discount from Professor Oak before and didn't have to pay full price. He thought it must be the most popular TM that every trainer must have. He asked the cashier for 2 Protects and was handed two white disks.

He stored the disks and thanked the cashier. He walked back to the elevator and went to the 2nd floor. He bought 2 antidotes because he always wanted to have at least 5 antidotes at all times. Then he walked out of the Pokemart with Fúria on his head.

Percy walked to the Honey City Gym. It was the largest building in the City standing at about 12 stories. It was a bright yellow contrasted by a dark green. There was a honeycomb on the front of it and had people swarming in and out of it. Percy walked in and traded in the Sentret for 5,000 pokedollars.

He decided to trade into pokedollars instead of Gym Credits because he was a bit desperate for money at the moment. He still needed to save up for when Fúria evolved. Percy at least wanted to raise her potential to light red. He planned on saving enough money to get a really high quality fighting type item to give to Fúria when she evolves.

He would have to save up at least 50,000 to get something good. After that he went to a food stall as he had forgotten to eat breakfast. He ordered Sentret steak topped with honey. He wasn't too sure about putting honey on a steak but he thought that there's no way the honey is bad with anything.

When he picked up the meal a perfect combination of cooked meat and sweet honey wafted up to his nose. It was a medium rare steak with beautiful golden honey covering it. Percy cut off a piece and ate it.

His eyes opened wide as he started eating more of the steak. The steak was a perfect savory and melted in his mouth. The honey countered the steak perfectly and made the melting sensation even better.

He quickly finished the steak and sat back sighing. After eating he decided to go to a store and get a first aid kit so he doesn't run into problems in the future. Then he went back to the room and waited for Jason.
