34 Owe You One

Violet closed her eyes as the shouts continued, honestly, it's not like she had killed her. Apart from the broken ribs and the two teeth she had knocked she was sure to be fine. Give her a little shake, some blood, and dentures, Julie would be back to her old self. Being able to release some of that pent up stress was heavenly and the fact that Julie Hao was crying in the infirmary gave Violet peace. Might just be worth getting kicked out. The secretary sitting outside the door looked over disappointingly towards Violet, did the girl not understand the trouble she was in?

"She refused to heal her, she left her lying there"

"She beat her so harshly, even though Julie is noble blood."

"She looks like a rag-tag doll that's been terrorized by children."

Viole giggled swinging her feet back and forth, she should have yanked some hairs out, then that bitch would truly be a rag-tag doll. A too familiar scent invaded her senses, she opened her eyes, Kieren was walking past. His eyes briefly flashed in her direction, but he pressed past her without a word. The secretary bowed slightly, "Sir, they're discussing her punishment. She should have never touched Lady Hao."

Violet chuckled once more earning a glance from the both of them. Kieren opened the door and walked into the headmasters office, the shouts stopped immediately. Fifteen minutes later Kieren left the office and walked past Violet without a glance.

Headmaster Baros motioned for Violet to enter, the headmaster for the Crimson Hydrangeas glared at her, eyes bloodshot. Who cries over a student?

The rest of the members consisted of Kuznet, Julie's right hand -a troll looking girl- and her teacher, Marc. The tension in the room was palpable, yet upon closer inspection is was clear that Kuznet was trying to hide his amusement.

"Violet Zaraa," it was Baros who had spoken, "we would like to impose upon you the severity of your actions. You could have taken an innocent life today." The other headmaster interrupted, "you should have knelt for Ms. Hao! Let her beat you senseless, it would have been an honor for someone as lowly as you! Yet you dared..." she was a small woman, dirty blonde hair, not very well proportioned, and the spit flying for her mouth as she prattled on reminded Violet of a sick llama. She watched as more spit came flying before Baros cut in, "it has been decided that you will not be expelled."

Violet raised her eyebrows, "we were all present, we witnessed that Lady Hao used her ability and that the technicalities called for your victory via tko." Violet listened to them speak a smirk threatening to emerge. They had witnessed her ass, Kieren had come to her rescue. Damm the man, like she wanted to owe him one. "Your heinous betrayal, however, and refusal to heal her should earn you the death penalty." It was Marc who had hissed out the words like an angry goose. Violet coughed to hide her snicker, it was a zoo in here. She met Kuznet's eyes who warned her, although lightly, that now was not the time. "You will however be punished," Violet looked back to Baros, "you will spend tomorrow sparring with Kuznet, and you will not use your abilities to heal any of your injuries. You are also confined to your room for the rest of the day. Luckily for you the six healers from the Hydrangeas have been able to heal most of Ms. Hao's injuries. Thus your lighter sentence."

The Llama headmaster spoke again, "may every bruise remind you of her injuries, you heartless wench!"

The trio of animals left shooting daggers at Violet. Baros waited for them to be gone before letting out a laugh, "your match alone guarantees us victory, you literally beat her with your bare hands! Ha! Only an interloper such as yourself could possibly succeed at something so outlandish. Consider me impressed. You may go."

Violet smiled and left, she walked the empty hallways back to her dorm. They wouldn't want her in the gymnasium, her presence would raise a ruckus. A tall figure leaning against a pillar caught her attention, "I will not stay indebted to you, what do you want?"

"Nothing right now, I'm going to make you wait on that one..." he gave her a dangerous smile. Violet scoffed, "like I would expect anything else." He grabbed her around the waist and hoisted her up on the low wall, pushing himself in between her legs. "I think what you're trying to say is thank you Violet." He leaned forward as she leaned back, tilting her head along as the sun illuminated her stunning features. She rested her hands on his shoulders, wrapping her legs around his waist, well aware of the dangers of their continued game. "No. that was very well worth being expelled. She'll have fake teeth for the rest of her life. Sweet justice." Kieren chuckled, lowering his voice slowly, the vibrations dancing in the short space between them. He gripped her waist tightly as his breath came to rest along her jaw. "I for one think you prefer to deal your own justice." He smiled into her neck, "I enjoy this...recklessness in you. Captivating and so so thrilling." He looked up still breathing softly into her skin, Violet met his gaze steadily attempting to ignore the firmness of his gaze and his muscles melting into her.

"Well, my presence will be missed," he moved to put her down, then as if changing his mind wrapped his arm around her waist holding her inches from the ground while pulling up the hand she had healed.

"What are you- ahh.."

He licked her arm just as slowly, and even more deliberately, his eyes alight and charming. He should have stopped before reaching her palm... should have, he didn't. He ran his tongue into her palm and down her fingers, Violet knew she should pull away, but she was dumbstruck. He gave her a charming smile as he put her down, "Let me know when you're ready to give in."

Violet cursed at his retreating back, "never you fine looking fucker." She strutted away, unable to hide the small tinge of pink by her ears, he laughed candidly.

The next day's sun rose and sunk exactly as it had been promised to Violet, 'painfully'. Kuznet did not hold back, although it was obvious he too found the way Violet had wrecked Julie into tomorrow amusing. Toward the end of her torture session they were seated, snacking on food, while Ken chortled every few minutes. "If anybody asks you're in so much pain you could keel over, got it?"

Violet shook her head, "..sure. You did actually try to hurt me the first few hours yah know?"

"It's supposed to be convincing, you think he wants that lady shrieking in his ear every few minutes?" He rolled his eyes as he continued, "and don't get cheeky with me, I've never once seen you complain over an injury. It's like they don't exist."

Violet grinned as she got ready to leave, "maybe you aren't trying hard enough." She ducked as a small rounded weight came flying her way crashing through the door surprising a couple of flower girls. Violet watched them as she walked away, they were clearly there to report. "Oooowww," said in her most unconvincing voice as she walked past them. She watched Kuznet smack himself on the forehead in defeat at her feigned pain.

As she walked back to her dorm she caught the school news, Julie would be back tomorrow, new teeth and all. They had won the event, many of the flowers crying that they were all as barbaric as the commoner. Somebody had built Violet a shrine, she was now a small time deity. And lastly, Kieren had taken four flowers on at the same time and knocked them into the infirmary. She scoffed, nobody was complaining about him.

The flowers moved out of her way in droves now eyeing her with apprehension, as she walked into her dorm she realized the surprises weren't over. There was an envelope sitting on the floor. True surprise etched on her face, she lowered herself onto her bed, her dorm mate Aiko called from the living space, "is it a death treat?"

"No, it's an appointment for a dress with a designer?" As Aiko raced in Violet laughed, it was thank you card, and a gift.

It turned out, the girl she had healed was famous for her family's lineage as a designer. Her aunt had a boutique in town, and the girl, Mandy, had just secured Violet an appointment for tomorrow. "Rich people are weird, who-"

"Oh thank god," Aiko cut in, "knowing you, you'd show up in jeans. Not to mention her dresses are amazing, I'm jealous." Violet waved her hand nonchalantly, "I have dresses too Aiko."

"Not like these Violet, just go alright?" She left. Violet shrugged reading over the letter, the last paragraph caught her attention. One of the reasons Julie had beat Mandy was directly correlated with her aunt. Mandy had refused to get her an appointment, Violet grinned, oh well in that case, she was definitely going.
