May, Peony Season.

Nene had just got finished with her lunch, and set out to the meadow far east of her home. When she arrived, a wave of happiness washed over her. It was nice to see them after a while. With work and bills, it was very difficult to gain any source of free time. You know, calling in sick was just not going to cut it. Though, Nene was quite lucky. Often times, people leave Panacea town in late May for the summer season; so it wouldn't make sense for one to work, considering that the workplace lacked staff. "I shouldn't worry about that now, I'll deal with that thought later." Nene said. She approached the meadow, with a pleasant smile plastered on her face. "This meadow gets more and more pulchritudinous by the season." Nene said as she put a hand on her cheek. Nene walked over to her usual spot, in the midst of the meadow. She gazed at the appealing flowers as they seized her at every side. Left, right, south, north, you name it. Nene kept looking at the flowers, then fixed her gaze on one particular plant; a peony, her favorite. She picked it and smelled it. It was fragrant as usual, not that she cared if the smell differs. Without warning, a gust of wind blew the peony out of Nene's hand. "Butterfingers." she muttered. Nene chased after it, trying her best not to step on too many flowers along the way. Finally, the wind carried the flower to a clearing, making it droop down onto the ground. Nene was almost out of breath, and she wasn't having any of it. "Of all the days for this to happen!" Nene hated stepping on flowers as it reminded her of all the times careless people walked a tad bit too close too her garden, just to step on her flowers. When she picked up the flower, it revealed a small cube, slightly bigger than those plastic puzzle ones at the convenience store. She picked the cube up and analyzed it. It was not a threat to her, but she was scared to hold it any other way, as it might trigger something. Nene felt herself getting drowsier by the minute. What the hell? This never happened before, why was it happened now? Of all times? Was that cube the cause of it? Hell if she'd know. Nene sat the cube down, but the drowsiness remained. Soon enough it got the better of her, making her fall asleep. Well, at least I'll wake up in the meadow, hopefully I don't sleep for too long; is what she thought. But to her surprise she woke up in a flowerbed, surrounded by grass that lingered close to the grass, as if it were afraid to grow. There were roses on the floor that looked as if they were growing there, being held together with their stem; packed with thorns. The thorns stretched from various vases that littered the ground. Nene couldn't believe her eyes, this was actually real…

She got up from the flower bed and walked around, trying not to step on the vases, nor the thorny plant. "Hello?" She shouted, hoping someone was nearby. Silence. Being alone did not scare her, as she was alone for most of the time. Then, Nene came to a stop. I should probably check the time, she thought. Nene looked to her left wrist, to see her digital clock malfunctioning. Instead of the time, it showed a flower in a light pink hue. "What the hell…?" At this point, Nene was bewildered, upset, and a little scared. Any being would react like this if this were to happen. But who was she to assume? Right now, assumptions were irrelevant. She needed to get out of here, because she doesn't know if she can take anymore of this.

I’m having a lot of fun writing this, though I apologize if it comes to be short or repetitive. I aim to be a great writer, who can tell a story in detail and keep you on the edge of your seat.
