2 Screams

In the morning, I wake up beside Lexa, and she's still sleeping. She moves around slightly and she's smiling. I kiss her lightly to wake her up. She wakes up after a few more kisses. "Hey Fiancée." She says, as she kisses me deeply. "We don't have to get up for a little while. Everyone else can work on planting and building stuff for a little while." I Say as I smile at her. I kiss her, and trail my kisses to her neck. She moans quietly, and I kiss her lower.

(Later)

We walk outside together, and I see Madi. "Good morning." I say to her. She hugs Lexa and I. "We planted some seeds and were working on building some more huts." Madi says. Lexa and I help gather wood. As we're carrying wood, we hear a scream. We both drop the wood and run in the direction it came from. We hear it coming from inside a house, and we go inside. I see someone holding someone else down on a table. "Get off of him!" I yell. "He needs to take the key." The one holding the other says. Lexa pushes him off. We help up the other one. "What key? What are you talking about?" I ask angrily. "The key to the city of light. It will end all pain." The one Lexa pushed says. "I don't know what you're talking about, but stay away from him." I say. He nods, and leaves the room. "What just happened?" I ask the guy that was held against the table. "He wanted me to take that piece of plastic. He's crazy. He said he wants everyone to take it, so you should keep an eye on him." He says. "Ok. Thanks." I say, and Lexa and I walk out. "That was weird." She says. "Yeah. We should watch that other guy. He can't do that to anyone else." I tell her. She nods, and we go back to our wood.

After carrying a couple more loads and dropping it off in a big pile, we hear another scream. "Not again." Lexa says. We run over to the scream, and it's inside the same house. We see him force the plastic down someone's throat before we have gone to stop him. "What the hell did you give him? He didn't want it!" I yell. "They key. Everyone will take it, and humanity will be saved." I go over to him, and hold him against the wall. I pull my kings out of my pocket and hold it his throat. "If you give that to anyone else, I'll kill you." I say angrily. "There's no pain in the city of light. So go ahead, kill me." What the hell is he talking about? I grab the "key" out of his hand. "Give that back!" He yells. Lexa pulls him away from me. The key has an infinity symbol on it. "I'll show this to my mom and she can test it. Then we'll know what this is. Raven can look at it too." Lexa and I leave the room, and I let her look at it first. Her eyes widen when she sees it. "What?" I ask. "That's our sacred symbol in polis." She says, as she points to what I knew as an infinity sign. "We have that everywhere in polis. I don't know how he would have something like that." She says.

We walk to Ravens tent and she's there. "Hey Raven. We have something to show you." I say. She walks over to us, and I hand her the chip. "What is it?" She asks. "I don't know, but someone is trying to make people swallow it. He says it's a key to the city of light. And that it stops all pain. He's already given it to someone, and he did it without there permission." Raven nods and looks at it. "It looks like some sort of AI. It probably has a code. I don't know how it could relieve pain." She hands it back to us, and we go to my mom next. We give it to her. "You're telling

me this just makes all pain go away?" She asks. "Yes. I don't know how." I say. "Bring the two people that took it in to see me. I want to see how it affected them."

We bring in the two people. She asks for their names. "Jake." Says the one that was trying to force people to take it. "Kaleb." The other one says. "Who are you?" Jake asks. My mom looks confused. "You've seen me before. You know I'm the doctor." She says. "The chip might cause memory loss." She says. "No one else can take it." Lexa and I nod. "We will keep a close eye on them." Lexa says. We all walk out together, but my mom stays in her tent. We watch the guys throughout the day, but when Lexa goes to get us some food, I end up losing track of them. "Shit." I say out loud. Lexa comes back, and I tell her I lost them. She doesn't blame me, she just walks around to help me find them.

We hear multiple screams instead of one. I hear Ravens. "They have Raven!" I yell. We run towards them and Lexa lunches one of the guys off Raven. "They made me swallow it." She says. Then her face changes. "What's happening to you?" I say. "I'm in the city of light." She says. "All my pain is gone. The pain of losing Finn, and my parents, the pain of everything." She says. We close the door of the hut to keep everyone inside. "Stay with them, I'm going to take Raven back to her tent." I tell Lexa.

When I get Raven to her tent, I hear her talking to someone, but I see no one there. "Who are you talking to?" I ask her. "No one." She says. After about an hour of me watching Raven, she starts yelling. "Get out of my head! Stop talking to me!" She yells. "What's going on Raven? Who are you talking to?" "I need to use an EMP to fry this thing out of my head." She says, before she starts screaming in pain, and she falls to the floor.
