3 The Ones I protect

A few guards sat in the room as she stepped off the teleportation pad in the building. One smiled and greeted her by saying 'Captain'. Good Day, Tyler responded and she made her way to the exit.

Upon exiting, she stood at the city outskirts of the major city, 'One Haven.' Massive Buildings towered close by and flying vehicles moved overhead. She thought, for a moment about all the people that lived in this city and on this planet.

"All these people that her division seeks to protect!"

By the curb of the street was a policeman in blue, leaning back on his 'hover bike'. A hologram interface was before him with the latest news, displayed from his 'watch'.

Turning away from the interface, he saw her and the gold feather symbol on her jacket. He nodded at her and she nodded back as she walked past him to the preschool, that was close by.

Her little sister sat in the yard of the school as she spoke to a young boy who had fallen down. She dusted his clothes off and ushered him back towards the playground.

Then Sofia saw her sister Tyler coming and smiled. She ran up and hugged her sister Tyler.

Am… thanks, Tyler said awkwardly.

Even though Sophia was four years younger she was already getting married. They spoke to each other for awhile, about work related topics.

Then Sofia asked jokingly, so when will you get married Tyler?

Without being amused Tyler responded, when peace fully returns to our solar system.

Sofia understood that that might be never so she forced a smile at her sister and said ok, I understand.

Suddenly the sound of a star fighter was heard, overhead. It landed in a field that was close to the school and a lone passenger exited the vehicle.

Out of the two seat, star fighter, Sophia saw a woman climbing out and walking over. It was Tyler's secretary named Sabrina.

Sabrina: afternoon everyone she said.

A minute Captain, Sabrina asked?

Sure, Tyler responded excusing herself from the conversation with her sister.

Secretary: I was just notified that three supply ships are on their way to Solaris however they are passing through 'Old Space' to make their way here, to be undetected by other planets.

As usual, I wasn't notified, Tyler said a bit annoyed.

The thing is, our sensors have also spotted 3 unidentified bogies heading in the direction towards the supply ships.

That might be a problem, Tyler stated. Let's go.

Tyler returned to her sister to tell her that she must go. Sophia bid farewell to her sister Tyler as she left with her secretary.

Tyler hopped into the pilot seat and the secretary sat in the back. She initialized the gravitational destabilizer and slowly lifted the craft into the air.

Sofia watched as the spacecraft gained altitude and then it engaged the main thrusters. When it did, it launched off into the direction of the military island. A loud noise was heard as the engine thrusted the ship, making it disappear into the distance.

While on the way, she messaged her team as she jetted across the ocean.

Five members of her team were present in their mech suits. Racing to her suit, she got in and the six of them began their mission.

Their mechs walked out from the hanger and engaged lift, into the sky. Having cleared acceptable space, they engaged main thrusters and headed to the location in space.

However they arrived late because their was debris from the three supply ships, scattered across space. The idea that they would be concealed in the 'old space' was totally false. A blank expression rested on the face of their captain as she considered this...a failure.
