4 Family Ties

The Solaris space station communicated with the mech team to let them know that a salvage team would be coming to retrieve the debris, in hopes that some of the things are still intact.

Tyler left three of the members of her team to cover the salvage team and she dismissed the others. She however went back to the space station, to meet the colony leader. The colony leader was present on the ship awaiting an official report.

Tyler entered the hanger bay of the space station and moved her mech suit to the back of the large hanger. After exiting her mech suit, her secretary was awaiting on her in the hanger bay.

Tyler stormed over to the colony leader office where his secretary sat waiting for any persons who were waiting to see the colony leader.

Upon seeing Tyler, she said 'He is in a very important meeting!'

Ignoring her, Tyler entered the room to speak with the leader of the entire planet.

Malcolm Silvers stood before five holographic images of individuals who were in charge of various divisions. They were discussing economic problems that affected the planet.

Upon seeing Tyler he stated: Excuse me members. The captain of the vanguard unit that protects our planet, wishes to have a word with me. Do have a great day and with a wave of his hand, the illusions disappeared.

Returning to his desk, he took a seat behind it and faced his daughter. Gaining his attention, Tyler walked to the window on the right, to view the planet below, before she spoke. The vast blue, green and white globe spun slowly with splender below them.

Slowly she turned towards her father and asked, why wasn't I notified about the supplies that were heading to the planet?

Mech suits or any form of space craft activity in the 'Old Zone' would have raised eyebrows by everyone. Though it is unfortunate that they were still aware of our presence, I believe that some of the supplies were still in good condition, after the ships were destroyed. They were safe and protected in energy protective caches.

Malcolm saw that Tyler's expression softened as she heard that some of the supplies survived the explosion.

Tyler: Ok, I understand.

Malcolm: Good he said as he got up and walked to the window to look down at the planet. Watching through the window he asked, are you doing all right? You seem very stressed?

I am fine , dad she quickly answered as she was heading for the door. Then she continued "the day that we can have a solar system that works collectively towards building each other up and not tearing each other down, is the day I will rest easy!"

After leaving her father's office, she paused in the corridor and thought to herself. She was really feeling a bit tired.

Perhaps she should spend the night at the space-station. The hot springs up here was also worth trying.

Later...

Tyler sat in the hot springs room as the computer simulated a hot springs environment. Technology really is amazing she thought to herself as she lay back and began to think.

The other colonies seem to be progressing at an exponential rate, even with their weapons of warfare. The mech suits and ships of her colony were outdated and pretty soon they would be the weakest colony. Without good ideas, better designs and abundant resources and materials, it was only a matter of time.

At the back of her mind, she already dreaded that they may lose this impending war, before it even took place.

Leaving the hot springs, she went off to bed.
