1 Peace

I was strolling in my garden,

and I heard a tweet.

I looked around to what was spartan,

but there were a tiny pair of feet.

I looked at it up and down with wonder,

pristine beauty it was and standing with grace.

It was a dove standing between shrubs asunder,

it's feathers as white as a china vase.

It was looking at me with piercing eyes,

which made me feel invisible.

I could only reflect the boundless skies,

I was more than sure it wasn't despicable.

But what I saw blistered my heart,

it was a gash so deep.

No wonder how God made such a flawless piece of art,

now it was something I wanted to keep.

I slowly inched closer and closer,

careful not to scare.

I could smell shiuli flowers as it was October,

as I took the dove with gentleness and care.

I took it in my palms and smiled,

then held it close to my chest.

I noticed its wound was mild,

and cured it to my best.

Since that little dove came into my life,

I experienced the best moments of it.

Every day I used to see doves in the sky rife,

wondering if mine belonged with them before it got hit.

Since I found that bird,

I felt complete.

It looked like my prayers had been heard,

and when it felt hungry, it used to have a bowl full of wheat.
