6 He's gone

I ran over to where I saw the keys and frantically tried to open the cell door. After I finally got it open I took the rope off of his neck. He turned over with the little strength he had left, and I held him in my arms. I noticed the slit in his chest probably caused by one of the giant glass shards that were located all over the ground. I leaned over kissed his forehead and told him I loved him with tears starting to form in my eyes, and, with his last breath, he whispered "I love you too"

It wasn't until he was no longer alive that I noticed he had marks all over him. Some old and some new. As I was observing this I noticed the whip hung up on the cold concrete wall. I then found his phone that was on the floor not too far from where he fell.

I turned it on and the first thing that popped up was a failed message to me that said:" goodbye, I love you". That's when the tears really started to fall" I read the messages from Misty. She was constantly reminding him of all the mistakes he had made during their high school relationship. The messages from Cole were all comparisons of him to Ashton. How Cole was better than him. Lastly, of course, Alex telling how he wasn't going to amount to much.

Suddenly everything came together, and I realized why he was so sensitive and clingy.
