Chapter 86

Within an almost dark lab, Luthor is working on the drug gave him and the rest to turn into Kree. He asked Carnage to send him back after looking through the Mother Box, finding nothing from it.

"Although I haven't noticed anything wrong with this drug, there have to be," Luthor muttered, stopping to think for a moment. "There is no way this is foolproof. Carnage won't do something so kind."

Looking down at the syringe in front of him, Luthor sighed. "I don't know what else to do." Picking up the substance, he brought it to his eye level. "Maybe I should change my direction. Instead of looking for what's wrong, why not look at what it will do to my brain. From what I found, it should do something to my brain, helping me control my regeneration."

Dropping the syringe back on its position, he went through many procedures, taking pictures of his brain and documenting it. Any change that happens to it after taking the drug, he needs to know. As far as he doesn't want to do it, passing away the chance to gain the power, to beat Superman, isn't him. Ready to inject himself, a voice interrupted him.

"Lex, the spaceship is available." A woman said, walking up to him. She is a Caucasian female with brown eyes and light brown hair, wearing a business suit with a red tie and a short skirt.

"Good to know. Now, quit distracting me, Mercy." Luthor scolded, going back to what he was doing. "If I don't wake up from this, I want you to sell all Carnage information to the Justice League. Though I doubt that as Joker and Cheetah are alive."

"Whatever you are doing, if you aren't sure, don't do it." Mercy said in a worried tone, moving closer to Luthor.

"I know, Mercy. To my knowledge, this is safe. I know Carnage is smart, but I am confident in my intelligence." Luthor reassured, looking over to Mercy.

"Carnage? You met him?" Mercy queried, surprise crossed her face. "Why?"

"Yeah. Rick was cooler than the news put it out to be. Yeah, the guy is a psychopath who will do anything to do whatever he wants, but he isn't so bad." Luthor replied, shrugging. "He is smart, being able to create a new race and all. As long as we are of use to each other, nothing would go wrong."

"Are you sure? We know almost nothing about him." Mercy asked, doubtful of what Luthor said.

Looking at the worried Mercy, Luthor sighed and pressed the injection against his vein. "I am doubtful, but this will help me get closer to my goal of world domination. I may finally get rid of Superman."

A warm rush went through his body, numbing everything, causing him to fold like a box, falling to his knee and unable to do anything. Seeing this, Mercy's heart rate and breathing rate accelerated, rushing to Luthor's side to check what's going on. Of course, Luthor was a little shocked, but he saw the same thing happen to Cheetah and Joker when they took it, so he calmed down.

All the DNA was invaded and corrupted, changing him biologically and physically. Luthor's body swelled like a balloon about to explode before condensing into a fit, muscular man. His skin becoming smoother and gained a glint of red. Although he grew no hair, he certainly looked more handsome than before. After about ten minutes of the transformation, Luthor gained back control of his body.

Looking over Mercy, who has a worried expression on her face, his jaw clenched. "I am ok. No need to worry about me like I am a child." Luthor shouted, lightly pushing her on her chest.

To his surprise, he sent her flying across the lab, destroying many items in the process. Seeing this, a grin appeared on his face as he clenched his fist. "This is certainly better than being a human." Wanting to test out his power more, he suddenly recalled the picture he took of his brain. "I should first look into my brain."

Not caring about Mercy, he went running some tests as she coughed out blood on the ground. It took him some hours to finish his check-up, and he is certainly happy with the results. His organs were functioning in better conditions, his body no longer needed oxygen, and his muscles were stronger than before. His emotion of sympathy got replaced and now used to controls his regeneration.

"I should ask Carnage if the part of the brain replaced was random," Luthor mumbled, looking over to Mercy, using his new x-ray vision on her. "Slow down your breathing. Breathing too hard may cause your broken ribs to puncture your lungs."

Walking up to her, pressing a button, he called up the doctors to take care of her. Walking into his office, he looked over the city, placing his hands behind his back. "I know you are there, Rick." He quietly said.

Carnage appeared out of thin air, a wide smirk on his face. "Your attempt was good. Haha, I was even starting to get scared you may find my secret in creating the Kree." He teased, folding his arm. "How is the Infrared Vision? Isn't it amazing?"

"What do you come here for?" Luthor asked, turning to face Carnage.

"Nothing. Just passing by to go kidnap Supergirl and decided to stop by." Carnage said with a shrug.

"I see..." Luthor nodded, not believing a word Carnage said. "Let me ask you a question. The drug replaces your sympathy with regeneration control. Why is that? Is it random? If not, were you trying to get rid of your sympathy of all the lives you killed and will kill in your path to immortality."

The smirk on Carnage's face froze as he looked as he remembered something. "Well..."

Was the quality of this chapter better than the ones before? I think so. Though, to be bringing out chapters with this much quality, I will have to only release 1 chapter per day instead of

Quality over Quantity, am I right?
