Chapter 77

A month has passed since the failed adoption of Darkseid and his Parademon. The Justice League was officially formed and gained the full support of the United States government, though for now, it has only had 7 members which are, The man of Steel, Superman, The Capped crusader, Batman, The speedster, Flash, The Light show, Green Lantern, The Amazonian warrior, Wonder Woman, the Cyborg, Cyborg, and lastly, the Human lightning bolt, Shazam.

When the missing part of the United States, the part destroyed by Felicia self-destruct, the whole world was shocked. Some humans claimed that it was done by Darkseid while others thought it was done from something else. News about this was talked about all over the world, some counties almost wanting to start a war with the United States to hit them while they are down.

Humans are truly stupid creatures. Their world just got invaded and instead of them working together to get out of this mess, they are planning on starting a war.

The missing humans who were taken by Darkseid were brought back after Cyborg managed to open a boom Tube bringing them back even without the Mother Box.

The Justice League settled down in their secret headquarter called the Secret Sanctuary. It is a large cave deep inside of a mountain base in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island. Mount Justice was chosen as a headquarters when a crisis drove the newly formed Justice League there. The mountain was hollowed out and reinforced by Superman and Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

The mission control room was in the central chamber, with a holographic computer. It can also serve as a training area. Batman sat on one of the seats, going through the computer with Cyborg seating across from him. Cyborg's right hand which was snatched by Carnage was back, which he regenerated.

"Have you found out the cause of the explosion?" Cyborg asked as he went through the Internet in his head.

"No." Batman said, pausing, "The only thing captured by my satellite is a bright light before it went offline. My guess is the explosion was big enough to also wipe out the satellite with it. What are your leads?"

"Nothing, only this..." Cyborg said he said, bringing up the holographic video of the explosion, slowed to the extreme.

"What am I looking at?" Batman asked, confused. He has watched this video more than a thousand times so he doubts he had missed anything.

"Look closer, I will slow it down more," Cyborg said, slowing the video down more.

Batman watched it again, a frown appearing on his face. It was hard to notice but he was able to see a red streak running just on the outskirts of the explosion. Got absorbed by the explosion but appeared soon after further away before the satellite got absorbed by the explosion.

"There is no one that can move that fast, except Carnage or some unknown speedster we don't know about." Cyborg said, replaying the footage.

"Have you get any leads on him?" Batman asked, looking over to Cyborg.

"No. I tried tracking my lost arm but it was probably thrown away by Carnage as it is deep in the ocean." Cyborg said a holographic map of the world appeared on the table, showing a red pinging dot. "Investigating further, I saw it was next to the Atlantian city."

"Atlantians... Anything else?" Batman asked, taking note of the location on the map.

"I am trying to track the Mother Box. I felt a faint connection to it, but not strong enough to pinpoint its location. All I know that it is somewhere on earth." Cyborg said, shaking his head. "I feel sorry for Flash. I was told that his parents were killed in front of him, then his other friends were also killed in front of him by Carnage. It must be hard."

"Yeah." Batman just said, replaying the footage of the explosion.

"That isn't Carnage." Superman suddenly said, floating towards the table. "Zoom into the red streak and you will see."

"Ok," Cyborg said as he zoomed into the red streak.

Cyborg kept zooming till the being could be seen. It was a blue humanoid monster with no nose and a wide maw with sharp teeth. Instead of skin, he has scales which was blue, and his eyeball was orange.

"Who is that?" Cyborg asked, going through the internet in his head. "I have no information about him in the media. He must be new."

"Probably a new speedster." Superman said, from his seat.

"A new speedster huh..." Batman muttered as he said, "Slow it down and play it."

Cyborg did as he said and played the video. The speedster was running just outside the explosion range, red lightning coming out his body, and as he was about to get consumed by the explosion, he threw a lightning bolt forward.

His body got consumed by the explosion and from the lightning bolt, a new body grew and continued running before the footage was cut.

"Interesting." Superman said getting interested in this new guy.

"He can teleport to lightning he throws?" Cyborg thought out loud, playing back that part.

"Zoom into the lightning the play it." Batman said, following his gut feeling.

Zooming in the lightning bolt, they saw in the middle was a big heart with blue blood. After the speedster was disintegrated by the explosion, the heart quickly regenerated into a new body, which kept running.

"Amazing regeneration. In less than a second, he regenerated his body!" Superman exclaimed, getting more interested.

"There is no lead on this guy. How could we find him and bring him in for reasoning?" Cyborg asked, looking over to Batman who was in deep thought.

"There is one person." Batman said, looking at the two of them.

"And who will that be?" Superman asked, folding his arm.

"Carnage. His regeneration ability is similar to this man, though weaker. They also have the same color of lightning so I am assuming that they are somehow related." Batman said, tapping the table.

"But he will be hard to catch. His speed has increased and he seems stronger." Superman said, pointing out the obvious.

"I have a plan." Batman confidently said, "And it will work."
