Chapter 114

Floating through space is a frozen rogue planet. Floating around the planet was a rocky ring with one big astroid acting as a moon. Suddenly, a pulse similar to a heartbeat started going through the once calm planet. This pulse caused massive earthquakes to ravage the planet. Cracks that swallowed up rocky mountains went through the planet, spewing out lava more than 2,120 F that shot into space. In less than thirty seconds, the planet completely broke up, reviling a massive blob of flesh that acted as its core. The heartbeat pulse was coming from this blob of flesh, which kept expanding and receding like a beating heart.

The beat of this blob of flesh kept increasing, sending multiple massive gravity pulses into space. Everything close by was either pushed away or crushed under the massive gravity this blob was releasing. Soon, this blob of flesh exploded, sending massive gore flying into space. They then came together and formed a featureless humanoid.

The thing "looked" around its body, a thought coming to its "mind."

'What am I?'

Multiple memories folded through its mind as it started remembering itself.

'Right. I am Rick Brandon. Later known as Carnage. Currently known as Impulse.' It remembered itself. Looking around, the being known as Impulse thought. 'How long was I out?'

[Thank you for returning to me, Operator] A robotic male voice sounded. [Xerah has been ea- getting tired of waiting -waiting patiently for your return, Operator!]

Impulse turned its head to the side, noticing a small toy-like spaceship floating beside it. A small wire connected him to the spaceship, allowing him to hear it.

'Good to hear your annoying voice again, Xerah.' Impulse thought, fully turning to face the ship. 'How long was I out?'

[You were out for 1 year, 7 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 21 hours, 44 minutes, 3 seconds...]

'So 1 year?' Impulse thought, interrupting Xerah.

[Yes]

Impulse started reminiscing about what happened before he passed out. After Niles left him with the planet filled with about 1 billion Kryptonians, he proceeded to use his superspeed to inject them with some of his blood, evolving them and getting rid of all their weakness. Due to this newly evolved Kryptonian only being able to live for about 30 seconds, he quickly transformed himself into his titian form. Because he already transformed into that form before, it was quicker and easier to transform into it again. This allowed him to eat these 1 billion Kryptonians in one gulp. After that, he passed out.

Impulse quickly activated his temporal Awareness, sensing all the damage he caused to the time stream. Seeing as he evolved in the past, there is no way he wouldn't have caused any change.

'The year is 2018. Did I move through time during my evolution?' Impulse thought, noticing no change in the timeline.

[No. Sir. Niles came back to drag your titian body to your present time of this universe. He said I should inform you that you owe him a favor]

Impulse nodded, noticing he could sense his entire body. Every reaction, every movement, every gene change. Nothing in his body could escape his sense.

'Tell me what happened for the year I was evolving.'

[You deceased 1 time. Your body exploded 91 times. Your gravity created a planet 2 times bigger than the planet earth around you...]

'What do you mean I died?' Impulse asked, giving Xerah his undivided attention.

[You died but your body successfully revived itself. I would say you were lucky. During death, you wouldn't have revived if I didn't push some wandering aliens into you, allowing your body to accumulate them, reviving itself]

'I died? What do you MEAN? Couldn't I regenerate from the other body part I spread around time and space?'

[Opperator, you must be delusional because you just awakened after a long slumber. Once you started evolving, you lost connection to those other pieces. Your genes were too different. It wasn't a part of you anymore]

Impulse floated silently, still thinking of the fact he would have died if luck wasn't on his side. After the incident with him being freed from Batman's prison by Barbara, he gave up on luck, thinking that it wouldn't get him anywhere. And he was right. Two years after that, he always tried his best to plan for every single possibility, even going as far as to create a disintegration chamber just in case he was trapped in his own base. Who would have thought he was saved from eternal death by luck.

'Hahaha. Good thing I put some of my stat points on luck and not all of them in intelligence.' Impulse thought, trying to laugh at the point he was just saved by luck.

[Ha. Ha. Ha.] Xerah let out a creepy robotic laugh before saying. [You are funny, Operator]

'Forget that.' Impulse thought, shaking his head. 'Scan my body and tell me everything you can find out about it.' His capabilities are already clear to him, but hearing them from Xerah would allow him to test out Xerah scanning power and how good his body awareness is.

Xerah said nothing for a while, scanning Impulse deeply. After more than thirty-minute, he finally spoke. [From what I can, I can say you are in a state of complete control and awareness of yourself, your cells and biological processes, your breaths and thoughts, your movements and emotions, your conscious and un/subconscious, etc. Your body, mind, soul, emotions, psychology, genetic structure, etc. Your body doesn't do anything you don't want it to, you can control everything you do, and you are aware of everything about yourself, so no unknowns are lurking deep in your body or mind. I assume]

Impulse smiled internally, knowing that Xerah was right. He now has perfect control and awareness over his body down to the smallest cells. He is aware of every change to his body the instant the change occurs. This ability also grants him immunity/resistance to powers and abilities that control his mind, body, emotions, or genetic makeup. Beings like the Speed Force or stronger could probably overite his control over his body, but that was something he has no control over. He isn't stupid enough to mess with Nigh-Omnipotence or Omnipotence beings.

'But this ability also came with great weakness. I no longer possess instincts.' Before, he may be able to dodge a bullet moving at light speed due to his instincts or avoid confronting a strong entity disguised as a human, but not anymore. 'At least I lost my weakness to fire.'

[Opperator, do you want me to continue giving you insights into your body?] Xerah asked, interrupting his train of thought.

'No need.' Impulse answered, feeling a big asteroid slam into his chest. His size was currently that of a planet, and with his new mass came higher gravitational power. 'I am sure my gravitational power is twice that of Earth.'

Impulse 'stood up' grabbing the asteroid and crushing it. Looking around, he saw more asteroids coming towards him, causing him to sigh.

'I guess I will have to learn how to control my gravitational pull.' He paused, thinking it through. 'If it is possible.'
