106 Chapter 106

Within a long dark alleyway, two men were smoking. They were both wearing different masks, each representing different animals. One of them had on a tiger mask while the other has on a rat mask.

Looking up at the bright sky, the one wearing the tiger mask mumbled, "Gotham isn't what it used to be."

"With that new speedster running around, how could it be?" Another one said, throwing his cigar on the ground and stepping on them. "Fuck. He came out of nowhere and started stopping crimes. The masked gang had to go into hiding because of him. When Carnage was still alive, he made it easier for us to do whatever the fuck we wanted."

Tiger mask sighed. As he was about to say something, a black portal with a purple aura suddenly opened. Tiger masks stared at the portal wide-eyed, dropping his cigarette, while rat mask slowly stepped back. Out came a good-looking young man. He was tall, standing about 6'1" with silver hair that reached his jaw and bright yellow eyes. He has a lean muscular build and wore an all-black high-neck jacket with matching pants, dark dress boots, and black leather gloves.

Looking toward the two of them, he let out a small smile, "What city is this?"

"How dare..." Rat mask shouted but was quickly stopped by Tiger mask. "This is the city of Gotham."

The man looked up at the sky and back at them. "You must be joking, right?"

"No. The sky became like this after the new speedster appeared." Tiger mask said, eyeing the man.

He stared at the two of them for a while before nodding. "Good to know." He said, walking past them.

Looking at the man, Tiger mask just felt the need to ask. "Umm, who are you?"

The man stopped and looked back at them. Tiger masks gulped down, thinking he asked something wrong, while rat mask kept looking around. "The one and only, Impulse." Impulse then walked out the alleyway and into the busy sidewalk.

"Fuck. My big ego almost got us killed." Rat mask mumbled, squatting down. "I still forget that boss Carnage is dead."

"Yeah. I don't feel safe in this alleyway. Let's move." Tiger mask said, standing up and walking deeper into the alleyway and the backstreet.

On the busy alleyway, Impulse, formally known as Carnage, calmly walks amongst the common folks. When the criminal wearing the was tiger mask asked who he was, he decided to go with the name of the face he was using. Impulse. The name fit his main ability, his speed, and his strong urge to gain Immortality. It fit him well.

Fixing his leather gloves, Impulse used his telescopic and x-ray vision to watch the news. The title of the news was, "Velocity just stopped a tsunami heading to Gotham." Seeing a new speedster, like a child finding a new toy to play with, Impulse became excited.

Disappearing with a red light, he reappeared many miles away, inside a library. Some of those who noticed him became cautious, while others ignored it. Walking up to an empty computer, Carnage quickly did recherche on the new speedster, Velocity. From what he found out, Velocity debuted a year ago and became famous after stopping the infamous Carnage. He then joined the Justice League, becoming one of the leading heroes in the world. He also found out that Superman is dead, but that wasn't of importance.

"Velocity killed Carnage 2.0?" Impulse was at a loss of words. How could he die to another speedster? Impulse found it hard to believe. "He may have faked his death and is doing something else. Or he must have underestimated the speedster, leading to his death... I will find the truth while I am dealing with Velocity."

Impulse closed his eyes and tried to sense the speedster, immediately finding him. He was using a little of his speed to do something, but that was enough to find him. Impulse then went to the map on the computer and looked for the location. On that location was a white mansion, and the owner were Niles Zor-El and Kara Zor-El. They have a daughter named Alura In-Ze.

Seeing the little family, Impulse mumbled. "Supergirl married a speedster? This is interesting."

As Impulse continued researching into the family, someone suddenly tried to hack into his computer. Not wanting to waste any time, Impulse casually cleaned all his traces, even from the security footage, before disappearing with a red blur. As he was heading to the mansion where Niles lives, Impulse felt Niles dash away from the house, heading in the direction of Gotham bay.

Using his visions, he saw a shootout between a gang and the police occurring. 'Probably where he is heading.' Impulse thought, deciding to head to the mansion and wait for him to return.

The mansion was all white with the front having a big luscious garden. Running through the front garden, Impulse arrived at the front door of the mansion. Fixing his jacket and gloves, he went on the ring the doorbell. He heard little footsteps coming to him and tried to look into the house. Unsurprisingly, the house was lased with led, making it impossible. Waiting patiently, the door was soon opened by a little girl who looked around five.

She is a small, almost doll-like girl with long blonde hair reaching her waist and emerald eyes. She has on a long black gown and held a doll close to her chest.

"Who are you?" She asked, looking up at Impulse with innocent eyes.

"You must be Alura. I have heard a lot about you from your father, Niles. He cannot shut up about you at work." Impulse said, squatting to her level. "You are as cute as he says you are" He picked her up and held her close to him.

She beamed a big smile at Impulse, "Daddy isn't here yet, but he will be coming back soon."

Impulse acted surprised and asked, "Oh? Where did he go?"

"He went to-"

"Alura, I told you to stop opening doors to strangers." A woman's voice came from inside the house, running to the front door. She quickly grabbed her daughter away from Impulse and started inspecting him.

While she was inspecting Carnage, he was also inspecting her. She looked exactly like the Supergirl from his earth, but a much mature version. She wore a black pencil skirt with a white shirt with her long blond was cut short right above her shoulder.

"Hello, Kara." Impulse said a smile on his face.

"I feel like I have met you before." Kara queried, staring at Impulse.

'It must be because of her interactions with Carnage 2.0.' Carnage thought, the smile still on his face. "Of course you have. I came to this little one baby shower."

"Oh yeah. I remember." Kara laughed, obviously not remembering Carnage. "Are you here to meet Niles?"

"Yes, I am." Impulse smiled, looking behind him. It seems like Niles, also known as Velocity, is back.

With a blue streak, Niles appeared at the outer wall of the mansion, quickly changing out his suit. He then walked through the gate and causally jogged towards them. He is a tall and handsome young man, standing at the high of 6'3", with shoulder-length blond hair that has bangs go across the right side of his face and cool light blue eyes. He usually wears his top two buttons down revealing a little of his chest. His wore a casual white shirt and black pant with black shoes.

"Hello, Niles." Impulse grinned. "I heard you killed Carnage 2.0. Shall we find out if that's true?"

Niles stopped in his tracks, his face turning serious. Kara immediately knew what was going on. It seems like this is a villain who found Niles's identity. She quickly took her daughter inside, closing the door.

"Carnage 2.0." Niles repeated, his serious face morphing to that of surprise.

Impulse also noticed what was going on. Their similarity was too great and though from different timelines, he could still sense the connection.

Impulse stared at Niles for a good while before he let out a little chuckle. "You got to be kidding me." He mumbled, bursting out into a crazy laughing spree. After laughing for a good thirty seconds, his expression suddenly changed, his yellow eyes glowing, "This has to be a joke."
