The Seer

The town is bustling with life, merchants, vendors and hawkers were selling their wares and their merchandise. Four men were walking towards the town center dressed in strange garments. Most of them are wearing white with strange markings and runes. One of the four men is wearing a full black garb.

The four are going to meet someone important of their guild. While waiting the two of the four men looks attentively in their surroundings. The other two were resting including the person wearing black garments. The people they are waiting for did not arrive yet which made their leader impatient.

"Antigua, when will these people arrive?" The man sporting a thick beard asked.

"I do not know, they said we are going to meet in this area in town." The young looking man replied.

"Seers as they are, they have no concept of time!" One of them replied.

A child appeared in front of them, she appears to be in her late teens. Wearing a cap and long dress, stylish but conservative. She speaks to one of the four men and asked, "Are you waiting for the one who sees?"

"You do not mean the Seer?" The man in the black garb asked in return.

"Yes, I believe the title that you call the master is." The child replied.

"We have business with him..." The impatient man approached the young girl but was stopped by one of his companions.

"Patience!" He told him and shifted his attention to the young girl. "Is there a reason that the Seer cannot meet us in person?"

The young girl nodded and explained, "There are scary men that is after him. I do not know who they are but master told me to examine his guests first. I was here observing you four all along and found no suspicion over you. Please follow me to my master's hideout."

The four men followed the young girl to her master's hideout. While the five were walking there are at least six shady figures that are observing them. Shifting gaze as the four examines their surroundings as they proceeded. After the four disappeared from their sights, the strange men retreated back and looked at each other.

"Could they be the ones?" One of the shady person asked.

"The seer is not with them." The other replied.

One of the four men realizing that they are walking longer than expected paused and complained. "We have been walking like forever. How long are we going to keep doing so?"

The young girl before them also stopped walking looked at their impatient companion and said, "We are being followed, we must mislead them or else they will find my master." She said and wastes no time walking.

"Seriously?" Their companion looked behind and saw two suspicious figures behind them. Convinced of what the young girl said he hastened to catch up with his companions before him.

They were walking for ten minutes more under the heat of the sun. Following the maze-like road to the young girl's master house.

"Let us pause for the mean time. I think we lost them." The young girl said and told advised them to rest.

"Is your master's house near?" One of the four men asked the young girl.

The young girl nodded and after they rested for at least five minutes she asked them to follow her once more and continued on their way. Moments later the young girl stopped walking in front of a small house.

The four felt of a strange aura they never felt before. They looked at each other first and then to the young girl as she changed as she knelt in front of it. All of sudden, the heavy feeling receded. The four men felt the feeling of comfort and the young girl stood up. She faced them and tells the four to proceed to the house. One of the four men in black garb nodded and went first. He grabs the door and paused for a while in what he saw.

The interior of the house looks spacious than it is from the outside. He never thought that such powerful sorcery or whatever it is, could trick the eye thinking of it only as a small shack. The three caught up with him after a few moment and was amazed too of what they saw.

"Impressive!" One of them said.

"Indeed it is!" A deep cold voice met the four, loud footsteps came closer.

The girl bows down seeing her master to pay respect for him. Her master, the Seer, as he claims to be placed his palm in the top of the girls hand. The girl knelt in response to what the man did. Afterwards the man removed his hand and the girl stood up.

"I shall take my leave." She said and the Seer nodded.

After the girl left, the old man, the Seer began to open his mouth and talk to his guests. He deactivated some of the runes that he placed on his house. Turning off some of his potent defensive magic that he placed in the vicinity.

"Welcome to my home!" The Seer said in his natural voice.

Seeing the ability of the Seer the four attempted to pay respect and bows in front of him. The Seer however told them not to do so. There is no need for he himself is not their master of some sort nor a deity that they should pay homage to.

"Allow us to instead praise you, o great one, for your abilities are immeasurable!" The man in the black garb said to him.

"No need for such formalities, I am fine with casual conversations." The Seer said.

"Very well!" The man who sports a heavy beard said to him and approached him.

"We came from the silver corps. Bounty hunters, mercenaries or you name it, we are tasked from our client of a difficult task." The bounty hunter said before him.

"What is the difficult task you ask of me?" The Seer asks the person in front of him.

"This!" The bounty hunter unsheathes a dagger and placed it in front of the Seer's feet.

The Seer felt of the ominous aura from the blade and felt uneasy of it. A parameter flashed before the eyes of the Seer and saw a troubling discovery of the artifact before him.

Seeing this the Seer advised the blade to be taken away from his sight and said, "Sheathe the blade young man!" He ordered and the blade was taken away from the person who sports a thick beard.

The frightened face of the Seer surprised his guests. Realizing of the dangers the artifact poses, the Seer told the four to leave the place.

"I cannot assist you with any more of your inquiries. You four must leave!" The Seer said.

"We haven't done asking you of the our leads yet!" The leader of the four said but was ignored by the Seer.

The Seer pitied the person wielding the ominous blade but he cannot do anything about him for the forces of the netherworld consumes him. His soul is being eaten inside out from forces which the Seer cannot even control.

"I cannot do anything for you, I am sorry!" The Seer continued and banished the four from his house.

Bright light flashed before them and blinded them for moments. The Seer from the scene disappeared, transported the four people back to the city premises outside the city walls. Opening their eyes they saw nothing of the house they once saw. Realizing that they are banished their leader cursed and grabbed their companion who sported a thick beard and confronted him.

"How long have you been carrying that accursed item? Throw that away!" He said to him.

"This is a keepsake of my grandfather. I cannot throw this away for the sake of everyone's information." He replied.

"That's enough squabble between you two." Their companion in the black garb separated the two.

He looks at the front of them and saw the same shady figures that were following them. They brandished their weapons looking with them with an ill intent.

"What shall we do now?" Their leader asked the guy in the black garb.

"Let's fight our way out!" He replied and unsheathes his sword.

"No use, get away from them!" The person sporting a thick beard said.

"Antigua, no!" The guy in the black garb said trying to stop his friend from charging.

A swift swing of the blade dismembered his friend, Antigua. He screamed out of pain as the sensation from the grip of his sword suddenly disappeared replaced by the pain brought by his hand cut by a sharp blade.

"It's no use fools! In direct violation to the "Accord of the Treatise of Roulae" you are all sentenced to death!" Two mysterious figured revealed themselves from hiding and unsheathes their weapons from their waist.

The four is outnumbered by at least eleven men. They prepare themselves to fight back and assumes fighting stance readying for the carnage to start.
