1 Chapter 1

His skin felt like it was crawling almost as if something was alive within it. Looking frantically at himself the boy saw something 'alive' moving underneath his skin gradually rising but despite how it made him shiver it was not painful rather it felt soothing.

"Andre, feel out to the mana around you." came a voice out of nowhere.

Andre looked around seeing nothing but a pitch black void, yet it was comforting. It was the voice of his master so following that guidance he began to calm down and focus on his breathing. Around him he slowly became aware of what felt like a tranquil pond around him, it was cold but it did not make him shiver rather it made him feel the warmth of the creature pulsing through his skin. He began to slowly feel his body begin to change, it was as if every part of his body had begun guiding the creature through him to his chest. Suddenly in his chest he felt the beating of two hearts it was confusing but it was welcomed it filled him with ecsasty and adrenaline. Slowly he begun opening his eyes to see something forcing it's way out of his chest. At first a stub and then a hand begun to forming trying to force it's way out, it drove him mad the pain was become unbearable as it tore. He bit down on his lip till blood was drawn and at the moment he was about to break from it he heard a voice.

"Andre, bear with it just a little longer." The calming voice of his master comforted him and it helped him regain focus.

He looked down at his chest seeing what looked like a person crawling out of him. It made him sick yet he was forced to swallow done the bile burning his throat back and forth until finally the creature came out. His chest was bleeding and he had vomitted over the entire void like floor around him. As he begun losing focus he saw the creature grow and become consumed by light. As he looked at it he realised it was him.

"You've done well, now rest." and with those words he passed out.

- A few days later -

The light through the moth eaten curtain of the all too familiar infirmary. Wincing at the light he propped himself up his stomach feeling as if it were nothing more than bile he got up. His chest begun too burn and so he lifted the infirmary gown he war wearing to see a glowing seal placed on his chest.

"Mhhmm?," groggily someone had woken up at the end of the bed.

"Andre your awake." Getting up and embracing him was his master. Their eyes were sullen and red it seemed they had been crying throughout the night.

Andre grabbed onto his master tears in his eyes. He never was good with words but his master knew. As Andre cried relieving himself of the pain he endured his master comforted him like a small child, normally he would be upset by his master belittling him but the sincerity was so warm. He faded back out his mind was still exhausted. But this time he saw his master lay him to rest with a smile.

Waking up later he found it was already nightfall and the seperation curtains were drawn, they were thick and didn't let light through easily but he could see candle light seeping along the edges. So steadily brushing away his chestnut hair that covered his face he looked for his ribbon not finding it on the side. He slowly dragged himself out of bed his legs felt shaky and it took some time to balance himself on the cold ground. Slowly he pulled the seperator and stumbled out crashing in the floor.

"Dammit!" he yelled in surprise not knowing he'd collapse.

At that moment he heard someone coming it was a girl around his age of around thirteen winters she had jade hear that was cut short. Running upto him she helped him back onto the bed. She had looked like she was about to cry.

She flicked Andre in the head.

"Ow, what was that for Anne?" Andre asked grabbing at his forehead.

"You idiot why didn't you just ring the bel..." As she was about to finish she realised this room didn't have a bell. "Well anyways you should've seen the candle light. What do you think would've happened if Master Alderken found out you cracked your head. I would be the one dead."

Sitting up, Andre grinned. "Well at least I'm alive the circle was a lot more painful than I'd thought it'd be."

"About that," she chuckled nervously.

Andre looked confused.
