Path of Evolution Johannes: The Shackled (rewriting)

This is the story of Johannes or how his friends called him Hans.

He lives in Europe, Germany, Bavaria, Munich, at the most southern part called Grünwald. It was around 4 pm Middle European Time that news reached of an ongoing solar eclipse over India which defies all know physics laws.

On the internet trolls were spreading the words of the ending of the world but nobody really caught on to this trend as more people were ranting about the curfew put up in all major cities in Europe.

In one special home it happens that two Brothers were discussing the curfews on discord with their older sister who lived away from home for her study.

H: „Hy Chris you are the IT Brain here what could you find out about the reason behind the curfews. You are still in contact with that hacker ring, aren't you?"

S: „I got no problem with the curfew. I have to study. Wish me luck for my exam on Friday."

C: „I'm sorry to tell you Sis but it's likely your exam gets canceled. This whole event is completely abnormal. Nothing follows any known physical rules."

H: „Come on Chris. Don't you also start with all this world ending shit.

I'm studying physic and it's also obvious to me that something's wrong. However if it truly is the end of the world:

first we can't stop it and

second when the sky comes falling down. For you, there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do."

C: „yea your right. For now the eclipse is spreading globally and it still didn't stop in India. I would recommend we just go to sleep early today and just hope we wake up alive."

S: „Hey! You seeing that fog in the sky descending?!?„

Both Chris and Hans looked outside noticing the sky turning noticeably darker.

C: „We don't see any fog. The whole day we already have bad weather, but I can see the clouds turning darker."

H: „We have to stop now. Mom's calling us for dinner. Don't worry so much and only think about your exams. What the rest of the world does and thinks isn't so important. Bye"

S: „Bye"

After that Chris and Hans left Chris room down the corridor down the stairs twice then again through a long corridor. Just moving from A to B in this mansion is a good sport. Still the pair of brothers couldn't look more different.

Chris the youngest of the three children was 15 years old unfortunately for him he was one of those kids whose body was lagging behind his age while he even though he was the one eating the most in the house he looked only like skin and bones. Every evening all the other house occupants wonder where he stores all the food he wolfed down.

While Hans who was the middle of the children, 20 years old and stood out the most. He was a giant at 1,95m he had a well defined body but he was also quite particular. His muscle fiber was at a human extrem where on one side it was close to impossible for him to gain muscle mass, some could say he looks like a leek(A/N: does this saying exist in English?), on the other side his absolute strength output still grew highly

(A/N: this isn't my Fantasy it's true just that a person is born on a point in this scale. As such being born reaching one of the two extrem ends is highly unlikely).

So you can't call him stacked but strength wise he was extremely stacked but also in other disciplines he was quite good. Overall he was a very healthy athlete.

Hans POV

„Food looks great mom."

‚Her Lasagne is the best in the world.

Mmmmm.'

„Thanks. How about was university today?"

‚Always the same question. :/ '

„Nothing much we just got some more direct informations to the regulations for our internship next term."

„Oh. Tell me. Some of my connections may still be useful."

„Stop! There are more important things to talk about."

‚Thank you dad. Finally something of relevance.'

„What is it?"

„All of you have gotten the news of the curfew or how some heretical voices call it the end of the world."

‚Oh that.'

„But something must be happening dad. Nobody can explain the eclipse!"

‚Ooo Chrisi can't you see how stressed dad is. Such a bad timing.'

„Quiet! It's not important what happens up there.

All that counts is what happens down here!

And down here there exist bad people who want to take advantage of the spreading anarchy. If you look over to India you will hear reports of total anarchy and the collapse of the system. We as European also have many bad elements but luckily our government was fast in counteracting and damming in these unstable elements of society.

HOWEVER you can never be prepared enough. Our neighborhood is widely know for the celebrities und rich people living here so organized criminals may still try to strike it rich. We can't possibly defeat them, so we can only work after the Saint Zacharias Principle.

That is we have to make them clear that if they want our riches they will have to pay for it. We need to try to frighten them as good as possible. So they move from our house to our neighbors house.

Im going to ready all my old hunting rifles. Chrisi you go to the east corner and make sure to shoot at the sky. If you accidentally kill one of them, they will come here no matter the cost as they want revenge.

The same counts for you Johannes. Only shoot at their feet never aim higher. Also with your stature you are going to man the main entrance. Take that old sword of yours with you and be ready to let them see you to show your readiness to fight.

I'm going to man the North West side directly over the main entrance. Inge you take South corner. Just as Chrisi shoot at the sky."

‚Shid!!! I never thought it's going to be this serious.

If they really go for it do I have to kill them?

Will they kill me?

We have most of our money in the bank so it wouldn't be that bad as long as nobody is harmed, would it?

In the end i can't do much more then wait and hope.

Shid I wish I would be stronger!'

„Look up!"

‚Hm?

Shid what is that black gas.'

Black particles were gathering at the ceiling and growing denser building a black fog.

„On the ground!" Dieter shouted.

But it didn't help within half a Minute the room was completely swallowed by the fog.

Surprisingly you could still see the whole room just I looked as if your were watching through a black veil into the world.

„Looks as if everything is fine." Hans whispered while doing stretching and grabbing motions with his hands.

One after another they all stood up again.

Chris started saying „ I just checked all windows. All are closed this fog is just as unexplainable. Maybe it truly is the worlds end."

‚No! It can't be even if I will fight it till all goes down'

„Don't despair so fast Chris we still haven't met with anything threatening." I tried to assure him.

„You are right Hans. Everybody get on your positions. Get your self a coffee machine and ready yourself. I will bring you the rifled in an hour." Dieter commanded.

And so everybody left.

It's 9 pm the fog is getting denser and denser. We tried lighting bonfire in the garden but it proved to be a fruitless Idee.

‚This fog is just as mystical as the eclipse'

It's 11:50

‚The fog got even denser in the last hours. It's so bad right now I can barely see my own hand'

Then it happened. The fog cleared.

‚The fog is gone!! The air! It's as fresh as when I am in the Alps. Gonna call Chris. I have to see if I'm maybe hallucinating.'

„Hey Hans! The figs gone!"

„Yes that's why I'm calling you. Just wanted to remind you if you have any problem come to me I'll fix it. You aren't one for strength and pain. Leave that to me, you just make our plan for revenge."

„Kay. Hear you later."

„Yea hear later."

‚The Star looks really bright and wonderful.

Wait that isn't the North. What for a Star is that. Wait it's getting slowly brighter.

Is that an airplane?'

„Shid!!! That's to bright! It's gonna crash on our house and crush us!"

‚So much to holding up the sky for you. :'(

Im sorry for breaking my promise.'

The light got brighter and brighter till I thought I was directly in front of the plains headlights. It was at that moment the world stopped.
