ANGEL

I woke up to the bed moving violently underneath me. I groaned as I looked over and watched as August jumped up and down on the bed.

"Morning sunshine. Or should I say, afternoon." She giggled as she stopped jumping and plopped down on the bed right next to me, causing my body to bounce and I landed on the floor in a heap.

"HEY! What was that for?!" I yelled as I untangled myself from my blanket.

"Happy birthday bestie!" She giggled as I stood up and stretched.

Oh shit. I forgot it was my birthday.

'Dumb ass!' I heard someone say.

'Hey that's rude!!' Someone replied. I looked around, confused.

"Did you hear that?" I asked, looking at August. She looked back at me weirdly.

"No?" She paused, then her eyes widened.

"Oh my goddess!" She screamed suddenly, causing me to cover my ears. It seemed louder than usual.

"Jeez. Can you be any louder?!" I winced as my ears were still ringing.

"You know how your parents said your half demon and Angel?" I nodded.

"I bet the voices you're hearing are them!!" She squealed, jumping on the bed again.

Is that true?

'Duh' the first voice said. 'Im Jezebeth. Your demon side.'

'I'm Arella. You're Angel side. Nice to finally meet you.' Said the second voice.

Oh wow. I was not expecting that.

"Soooooo? What are their names??" August asked. I focused back on her to realize her face was just inches away from mine.

"Arella and Jezebeth." I said, smiling softly.

"Ooooo so pretty!" She screamed. Causing my ears to ring again

"Could you not? That seriously hurts my ears!" I yell back at her. Feeling instant regret when she cowered back. My eyes went wide.

"I'm so sorry!" I whispered, walking over to her and hugging her tightly.

"You're okay! It's just, when you did that my wolf automatically submitted to you. Usually that only happens with Alphas..." she said with a puzzled look on her face.

"Well. That's weird." I said.

'Not really.' Said Jezebeth.

'Yeah. We are both technically royalty where we come from.' Added Arella.

Oh wow.

"According to my girls, I'm technically royalty." I told August. She looks at me wide eyed.

"That's awesome but...you've only got about 2 hours to get ready for your date tonight bestie..." she said. Pointing at the clock.

"WHAT THE HELL AUGUST?!" I ran to my closet. Trying to figure out what to wear.

"Don't worry. I got you already." August said as she pulled out a beautifully wrapped box. I looked down at it then smiled at her.

"Thank you.." I said as I opened it. Revealing a beautiful black knee length dress with a fitted bodice and a flowing skirt. It seemed to shift black to red when you looked at it from different angles. With it, a pair of heels. Not too tall. Thank god. And a beautiful red diamond necklace of a wolf howling at the moon.

"Oh my god. Thank you so much. They're beautiful." I told her with tears in my eyes and hugged her tightly.

"You know I love you bestie. Now go take a shower and get dressed. I'll do your hair and makeup when you get out." She said as she pushed me towards the bathroom. I walked inside and gave her another smile as I closed the door behind me.

I smiled at myself in the mirror. August has straightened my hair and gave me some smokey eyeshadow with red lip gloss. I looked so much different than I usually did. I wasn't used to dresses so it did make me slightly uncomfortable.

"Do I look okay?" I asked shyly.

"Girl you look amazing!" She squealed. A knock sounded downstairs.

"I'll get it for you." She grinned at me and winked. I laughed.

"Thank you." I said as she walked out of the bedroom. I looked at myself in the mirror again and smoothed down my dress. As nervous as I was, I was also excited too. I took a deep breath.

I pulled up into the driveway of Angel's home and sat there for a moment, collecting my thoughts.

'MATE! GET TO SEE MATE!'

'Yes. I can't wait to see her again..'

I opened up the car door and stepped out into the cool night air. Taking a deep breath, I closed the door and walked up the drive, pausing at the door.

Here we go.

I knocked on the door, then heard someone running through the house before the door swung open, revealing August with a giant smile on her face.

"Come in. She'll be down in just a moment." She said as she took off running back up the stairs, disappearing behind a corner. As I waited, I looked around. Her house wasn't small but it had a homely feeling to it. Cozy.

I heard footsteps coming towards me, looked to the top of the stairs, and I stopped breathing.

Oh my goddess. She's beautiful!

She started walking towards me and I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She stopped a few feet in front of me, blushed and looked at the ground, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You look beautiful Angel." I gushed, smiling at her with adoration. She turned an even darker shade of red.

"Thank you.." she replied shyly.

"Ready to go?" I asked as I put out my elbow for her to grab. She nodded and took my arm. Letting me lead her out of the house and to the car. I opened the passenger door for her, holding her hand to help her in, then shut the door softly behind her. I quickly ran around the car, opening my door and hopping in beside her, closing the door behind me.

"Where are we going?" She asked softly.

"It's a secret." I said and winked at her, causing her to giggle. Goddess, I love her laughs.

'ME TOO'

I started the car and started backing out of the driveway.

I turned down a dirt road, earning a weird look from Angel.

"I thought we were eating dinner?" She asked curiously.

"We are. Don't worry." I parked near a clearing and ran around the car, opening the door and helping her out.

"Such a gentleman." She giggled, looking up at me.

"Only for you." I winked at her, causing her to giggle again.

"This way." I said, as I took her and pulled her toward the clearing. I heard her gasp and she saw what I had prepared. It was a picnic. With a beautiful red blanket, with small fairy lights strung up in the surrounding trees.

"You did all this for me?" She whispered in shock, her eyes glassy. I nodded at her and smiled softly.

"I wanted it to be special." I walked her over to the blanket and sat down, motioning her to sit. As she did I cleared my throat, gaining her attention.

"I do have something to say. And, if you wish to leave after, you are more than welcome to. I will not blame you." I said softly, though it hurt to say those words. I took a deep breath.

"I am a werewolf. My pack is the Red Moon pack and I am their Alpha." I blurted out in one breath. I closed my eyes, expecting her to yell at me. When she didn't, I opened them to see her smiling softly at me.

"May I see your wolf?" She asked, still smiling. I looked at her confused, but nodded. I stood up and walked away so I didn't hurt her during my shift. I took a deep breath and let Slade take control. I felt my bones break as I turned into my giant wolf. When we were done. We slid to the ground softly, doing our best not to frighten her. We watched as she slowly made her way towards us and knelt down beside us. She put her hand on our head and slowly stroked out fur, causing Slade to purr.

"You are beautiful." She whispered and stood up. She looked into our eyes and asked softly, "Can I have Xavier back please?" Slade stood up and nodded his big head, giving control back to me as I shifted back into my human form. As I did so she had turned away, somehow knowing I would be naked. I walked behind a tree and found a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, put them on and walked back towards her.

"I'm surprised you're so calm about this." I said as I cocked my head at her.

"Well, I just found out my family are werewolves too..." She smiled at me. "It didn't really surprise me. But I'm confused. I thought wolves didn't date because they have mates..." she trailed off and looked at the ground. Suddenly her eyes widened and her head snapped up, looking me in the eyes.

"Are we...?" I nodded, smiling softly.
