Chapter 367: Somewhere safe

As the tall pines thinned out and she started spotting the occasional Juneberry in bloom, the air grew thicker with darkness. Goosebumps traveled up her limbs to the back of her neck, making her fur rise in fear. It reminded her of being stuck inside the spell-wall in Milethnor. Elize shook her head, trying to stay focused on her path. 

It didn't matter if she was scared. What mattered was the safety of her people. And she would have to guard them with all she had, Elize reminded herself. When the firm brown soil gave way to white sand, she raised her head in the direction of the approaching clearing. Brandt was right. She could see the wraiths pushing through an invisible hole in the wards beyond the coast.
