29 Chapter 29: The stream and the cave

The wind was too strong against her face. She kept her eyes closed in order to keep herself from tearing up. Elize drew a deep breath. Holding on to her life with her left hand, she raised her other hand in the air.

"Dispel the force and calm the wind, hear my request and form a shield." She whispered.

A soft glow emanated from her body, enveloping the creature and the witch in it. Suddenly the wind was beating against her no more, although the wolf didn't slow down. The cold of the night didn't affect her anymore. Instead, the layer of light that surrounded them produced a soft warmth, immediately calming her down. Elize smiled and lowered her right hand, only to hold on to the fur of the giant wolf once more.

'What was that?' his voice resonated in her head.

"A small trick to keep myself from panicking." Elize said, rubbing her face against the creature's back.

'I thought my presence was enough.' He said with a tinge of sarcasm.

"I can put us through a portal like last time I dragged you home. What do you say?" She asked, with an evil smile.

The wolf shook its head and jumped over a log. 'I'd rather run, thank you.' He replied.

Elize laughed, satisfied at the reaction. She started drawing patterns on his fur, taking in the feel of its soft texture against her skin. A warm feeling enveloped her heart, slowly traveling through her insides.

'Baby please keep your hands from straying too far on my body. It wouldn't be pretty if my wolf goes out of control and force you to do things we didn't get to do in the tub.' Zack's voice warned her.

Elize huffed at the threat. But the picture of a big bad wolf forcing her legs wide open in her mind horrified her and she immediately stopped the teasing. Teasing can wait, she thought.

Soon, the noise of flowing water grew strong, to the extent that it was almost deafening. Elize raised her head to peek at the view ahead. They were nearing a very wide stream of water. She could feel the force of the current of flow from where they were. Suddenly Zack stopped.

'You can get off now baby.' His voice came as a soft caress in her mind.

Elize balanced herself first before jumping off from the back of the huge wolf. She landed softly on the forest floor, the dead leaves muffling the sound of the impact. Immediately, the protective shield around the two vanished. Elize took a step forward, as if straining to listen to something. A familiar sweet voice was humming a melody and it was coming from the direction of the stream. With each step she took forward, the voice was getting clearer.

....A witch who lost her home

A wolf without a pack

Deep magic from within

Will protect the Island hidden

Hear ye my little wolf..

Elize was drawn towards the stream, as if under a spell. Mindlessly, she stepped towards the water body, deaf towards everything other than the music. Suddenly she was jerked back and forth.

"Elize? Elize?!" Zack shouted as he shook her violently.

The sudden movement snapped her out of her dazed state. She looked at Zack confusedly. He wore a tensed expression on his face.

"Why are you shouting Zack?" Elize asked, confused.

"Look down." He said, pointing towards her feet.

Elize looked down to where she was standing. Alarmed, she jumped back.

She was standing on the edge of the bank. One more step, and she would have been in the stream. Luckily, Zack came on time. She looked towards the stream again. The music had already stopped. This time her vision was clearer and so was her mind. She could see that the water had a faint blue glow to it, a much stronger color than the stream near the pack house. The stream was flowing in a much stronger pace than the one she saw before. Her gaze followed the path of the stream and landed on a cave not much far from where they stood.

"What happened?" She asked, turning back towards her mate.

"You took off while I was shifting. And then when I looked up, you were already here. But how did you reach here so soon?! I took only a minute to shift and by that time you already covered two miles." Zack asked, as he gently guided her towards a huge rock.

"What? But I-" Elize paused and thought for a while. She was sure that she didn't use any magic. Did she teleport unintentionally? She looked back towards the stream, which even from the distance gave off a clear blue glow.

"What are you looking at?" Zack asked, following her gaze.

"What is with the water?"

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Don't you think that there's something wrong with it? There's a glow." Elize asked, narrowing her eyes at he stream. Zack followed her gaze.

"You mean the moonlight reflecting off of the water?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.

Elize turned towards her mate. A sudden thought flashed in her mind. Maybe he is not able to see it? She thought. But why would that be? He was a fully transformed wolf. His eye sight would be far better than hers. On any day, he could spot something from miles away. He would be able to see it unless-

"Zack, tell me when I drew the spell a while ago, where you able to see anything?" She asked.

"Like what?" He asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"Like the shield?"

"No, not really. I was only able to feel a sudden shift in the air. I guessed that you performed a spell given the position of your hand. But wait, you can see it?"

Elize knew she guessed it right. Werewolves will not be able to see the magic, though they'd be able to feel it just like everyone else. That could explain why he was unable to see the glow in the water.

"So you don't see anything wrong with the water?" Elize asked again.

Zack thought for a while and sat down on the rock he was leaning on. He then patted the space next to him, motioning for her sit next to him. Elize obliged, but waited for her reply patiently.

"Well I don't know much, but I can tell you what I know." Zack said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"Go on." Elize said, leaning onto his chest without taking her eyes off of the water.

"I've only heard about it from my dad years ago. This is the origin of the stream that flows throughout the Island. Legend says that this is the water that the moon goddess used to mould the wolves and the witches. The one near the pack house is just a branch. So I guess you can say that the water has magical properties to it. That's all I know."

Elize looked towards her mate. It seemed like he was holding back on something. She wanted to know what it was, but she decided not to push him. Maybe he has his reasons, she thought.

"Baby, look at me." Zack said, turning her towards him.

"Hmm?" Elize asked, absentmindedly. Her mind was still trying to figure out how she ended up at the bank of the stream. Also did the voice have something to do with it? If so, whose voice was it?

Zack sighed. "Elize, can I have your full attention please?" He asked, drawing her closer to him.

Elize shook her head, trying to clear her head of the thoughts. She put on her best smile and squeezed his palm. "Yes my little wolfie, tell me."

"We came out because you wanted to come out so badly. Now let's puts everything else aside and focus on you and me." His gaze darkened as he looked at her.

Elize could feel the heat emanating off of him. He was looking all too perfect today, she thought as she kept looking at him. She reached out and ran her fingers along the contours of his face. Zack closed his eyes, at the touch. Leaning forward, Elize rubbed her lips against his soft wet lips. His scent was driving her crazy, she wanted him to touch her.

"Baby, hold me tighter." Elize whispered.

Suddenly Zack lifted her off of her seat and placed her on his lap, facing him. Elize wrapped her legs around his torso and rubbed her chest against him. Zack moaned at the movement. His grip on her behind tightened, as she started grinding against his erection.

"Oh fuck baby." He moaned against her neck, clenching his teeth.

"Zack please, I want you inside me." Elize begged, while trying to undo his shorts.

Zack grabbed her hand and raised it above her head. Elize struggled desperately. She wanted to touch him.

"We can't have sex yet Elize. It could get you killed." Zack said, pecking on her collarbone.

Elize was not ready to give up. The urge was too strong and she didn't want to resist. She swayed her hips more seductively against his groin.

"What about now?" She asked, her voice coming out in rasps.

Zack let out a growl. Elize smiled wickedly. She knew that she was getting to him.

All of a sudden, Zack took her off of him and in a flash was standing three feet apart from her. Elize crunched her face in disappointment. She could see that he was breathing hard, trying to control himself. She just wished he didn't.
