247 Chapter 247: The destiny stone's brilliance

As she closed the door behind her, she felt drained. Her heart still kept pounding against her chest from their activity in the garden. Her hair was all but strangled and in a mess. The dress thankfully had no tears on it. But her mind was a mess right now. She didn't know if what happened was good or bad. She stepped out of her clothes and into the tub full of steamy hot water. The bathroom was filled with the scent of flowers that was intended to calm her nerves. But no such thing happened. 

Her love for him though strong, had to be forgotten, for reasons that were obvious to her. He could neither afford to protect her from the things that he didn't believe in nor could he console her with a heart that wasn't convinced of the existence of such things that controlled her destiny. She had hoped in their time together that such things didn't matter and that they could figure it out together. But with the passage of time, she had found it to be a hollow thought.
