161 Chapter 161: In a cellar

When she woke up, it was already dark. She could hear crickets chirp from somewhere near her. As her eyes slowly adjusted to the dark, she could see her surroundings. Elize was lying on the cold floor of a tiny room. She remembered the old man's voice whisper in her ears as she had lost consciousness. Her hand went to the back of her neck immediately. Just below her hairline was a terrible sore spot that throbbed when she touched it. But there were no bumps to tell its tale. 

Elize turned to her side with a grunt. Her whole body was in pain. She stretched her hand and rotated it a few times before pushing herself up. The room in which she was standing was dark and dingy. The only source of light was a small window to her right. It was at least two feet above her head and was the size of her face. That particular window was the only source of ventilation in the room as well and seemed barred with iron rods. 

"Where-" She grunted in frustration.
