18 The Kent's Gift

A few minutes had passed and David had told me his life story.

Surprisingly David and Samantha were both from ordinary families. They were childhood sweet heart's from young, off and on just like the most couple at the time.

They both decided to not pursue any higher educations after high school as neither of them wanted to drown in the bottomless ocean known as student loans.

Samantha managed to get a job working at an investment company and David did his required one year of military service at 18.

After his one year as a soldier, he came back and started working in his father's garage customising cars.

David quickly made a name for himself after 2 years within the automobile community. In his third year, he was earning five figures monthly. His dad retired and let him do his own thing as David had surpassed him every area.

Samantha climbed the corporate ladder and built herself a throne to claim the title, "Wall Street's Queen".

What no one else knew was that her boyfriend, David was someone that had seen the future. Although Davids power to see the future were unreliable, uncontrollable and even vague to some extent.

Regardless he was a special case as his first premonition was when he was 16, he had somehow been able to watch a whole year. From that, he knew what was going to make money.

He wrote everything he saw down in a journal that he shared with Samantha who shortly became the top dogs in the stock industry.

That was the only time his power was accurate as his other premonitions were vague shadows with noise.

Samantha was a Minor-Power user with the ability to control her hair length. It would seem useless but from what David told me, Samantha appreciates it greatly, she never has to shave and she can have a new hairstyle whenever she wants.

David and Samantha got married at 20 in 2010 after two years of trying, Samantha was finally pregnant. In 2013 of March Lily was born.

From there they started buying properties before starting their own real estate company that was then managed by a close family friend.

David still does the odd customising jobs but only when they are unique jobs.

I then told David about myself which was not that entertaining but he was interested when it came to my time as a soldier.

He couldn't help but say I was apart of some sort of secrecy service. He said that his training was no way in the same league.

He only did simple tasks and exercised to keep health. I told him that they must have changed the training depending on the power.

Honestly, I knew the military held some high hopes in me so they placed in me a squad with other people who had the impressive ability.

I told him about how Beth(ex-wife) and I got married which was only in paper and wedding rings. We were both trying to make money and didn't have the funds to do a big wedding.

I told him that I then became a stay at home dad and then we started talking about how hard and rewarding it is to have a kid.

"From what you've told me your clones have changed since then, wait did you. .??" Asked, David in a shocked tone

I knew exactly what he was about to say and said "Yep, "

"That's nut's man, so you have full control over them how did it feel," Said David excitedly

"Well, I don't know about others but for me it's was like a cold breeze that washed over my brain. After that, I just felt like I could do more. I'm not only able to control my clone but I can do it simultaneously even have different conversations at the same time" I said proudly

Of course, he wasn't referring to a system It's actually something that is not well-known within society but that will be properly announced tomorrow when I do my exercise stream.

"So you can do like multiple jobs. Hey, wanna work on a project with me?" Said David excitedly

"Thanks but I gotta lot to do," I said while thinking of the numerous tasks in the coming future.

"But I'll be sure to call you when I get myself a car. Do you do bikes?" I as

"Mate I'm I've done Helicopters, so yeah I do bikes. Just call me and I'll drop whatever project I'm doing" Said David simply

"You don't need to go that far," I said

"Dinners ready" Shouted Samantha

"Lasagna!" said, Lily and David excitedly before running off

I stood there at a loss before looking at my daughter and dog who was also stunned.

I walk up to Rose and pick up while saying "It's din, din time, Rose"

"Hungary, Daddy," Said Rose while she subconsciously licked her lips.

"Well that's good so were you having fun with Lily," I said while kissing her on the head

Rose gave a happy nod and said "Lily play with me, Icy. Lily good girl"

I was happy to see that she was comfortable playing with kids and even happier knowing that she had fun.

"That great. Icy come let's get you fed" I said

I made a clone who went through the diaper bag and retrieved a plastic doggy bowl and a small clear bag filled with dog food.

I walk out of the room with Rose in my arms, Icy by my side and my clone behind me. Waking down the corridors admiring all the family photos that hung on the white walls.

We then hear Samantha clearly giving David a lecture "I know you love lasagna but could you at least wait for the guest and escort them here"

"Come on, Honey. It was my mistake, I'm sorry. Ah hey Theo come sit down" Said David with relief

I walk into the room to essentially save my new friend from an earful of reasonable complaints which undoubtedly led to him sleeping on the couch.

The room I walked into was the dining room. A large round table with 5 adjustable tall cushioned chairs surrounding it. Above the table was a beautiful chandelier that lit the room up.

On the walls were more photos of them and some paintings.

On the table was the two trays of lasagna I brought reheated. In the centre was a nice big tray of a roast rack of pork with stuffing and vegetables surrounding it.

At each seat was an empty white plate with a knife and fork on top.

"This is roast pork with sage and double onion stuffing, baked apples, and roasted vegetables with gravy," Said Samantha while pointing at everything I hadn't identified.

I sat Rose down and raised the seat so that she could be more comfortable. I switched out her Knife and fork with her purple plastic spork that was inside the diaper bag.

I sat myself down and waited to see if David had anything to say.

"Don't be shy man, eat up?" Said David as he reached for the large lasagna tray

*Slap*

Samantha slapped David's hand and said "Theo, you first"

I proceeded to dish Rose a small piece of lasagna, with the pork and vegetables. I cut everything on her plate down so that its easier to pick up with her spork.

I dished myself a large cut of pork with all the things it came with. David and his family then dished with David, and Lily's plate just being a mountain of lasagna.

Taking a bite into the pork, I comment "This is amazing"

"Thank you, " Said Samantha happily

As I ate I felt Icy nudge my foot and see him whimpering "Oh sorry Icy here"

My clone puts the dog bowl down and pours the doggy food out into it.

Minutes pass by quickly as we talk and eat before everything was left clean. I look at the time and see that its nearly 05:00 pm, and comment "Thank you for the incredible dinner but we should get going"

"Ah wait, " Said Samantha as she wiped her mouth and ran out

"It's late man let me drive you back using the V.T at max speed," Said David

Samantha came running back holding a set of keys and said "Nothing will ever amount to you saving David and Lili but hopefully this can help you just as much as you helped. These keys belong to the house next door. It's not too big that you'll get lost nor is it too small. Kent's Real Estate owns it so you don't have to pay a dime. Please take it"

I was tempted but I politely said "Please, the extraordinary food was more than enough"

"Take it, please," said Samantha putting the keys in my hands

"Mate, just take it we can hang out more often and I think Rose and Icy wants to play with Lily," said David

"The schools are within a short walking distance. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet. Don't do it for you do it for Rose" Said Samantha

"Sigh, okay you convinced me. Your gonna have to give me a week before I can move in. I need to also sell the place," I said while putting the keys away.

"We'll send a moving truck tomorrow, and I'll get a team to clean up the house. Well help with selling the place" Said, David

I took a deep breath feeling comfort fill my soul as I reply with sincerely "Thank you so much"

'I owe them so much yet why do I feel so exhilarate' I thought confusedly

After that Rose, Icy and I went home with the help of David.
