"I can't leave you behind," I said, trying to save her out from her demise. However, the zombification process was rapidly spreading inside her body, making her transform into one of them in a short amount of time.

All of our hunches about the duration and onset of the virus baffled us from the rapid contamination of Margarette's body. However, instead of running away, I noticed that my body tried picking her up to escape this tavern. 

"What are you doing?" Margarette asked as she tries to shake herself off from my tight clutches of my arms holding her back. 

"There might be a way to undo this," I utter while placing her down on the nearest sofa, inside the house.
