"What are these for?" I asked while gazing at the retracting metal arms attached to Polo's back. 

The extra hands were similar to what an octopus' tentacles would have had, however the latter parts of its design could be more noticeable as human fingers. These appendages can be effortlessly manipulated by the wearers' mind as if it was an extension of his or her own body. Moreover, despite its lengthy tentacles, the machine can only function for the two extra hands attached to the original arms, hence a total of 4 functioning hands.
