33 Island Paradise Part 4

The trio continued to search the room for clues. As they moved the items from the center of the room and cleared the dust the symbol became clearer. "Any ideas on what this is?" Drew asked, scratching the back of his head. "Sam you have read the notes, have you ever seen a symbol like this before?"

"No, I haven't." Sam said. "The symbols in our research usually are some sort of variation of a pentagram. This has no traces of a pentagram anywhere on it."

The symbol filled the center of the floor, it was a series of circles within circles connected by a series of triangles. In each triangle a different strange rune had been inscribed. The runes looked as if they were grooved into the floor, so Drew bent down to check. As he ran his fingers across the rune, he could tell they were in fact shallowly dug into the cement. He shined his light for a closer look and could see a left-over residue within the groove, something akin to dried blood. "I think they filled the runes with blood." He said as he stood up. "Are there any rituals we know about that use blood?"

"Tons." Sam sighed. "That doesn't help us. Many rituals have a sacrifice of blood."

"But in runes?" Drew said.

"Drew I don't know what to tell you." Sam replied. "I have never seen anything like those runes before, I don't have a clue what the Nazis were doing."

"Well shit." Drew sighed. "So, all we know is the Nazis summoned something, tried to contain it, and it escaped and killed everything. We know it has something to do with this circle, but have no clue as to what was summoned."

"What good is saying what we don't know." Terry asked. "It's not like saying it out loud will magically make us know."

"I know, I just thought it would help us organize our thoughts." Drew replied. "Making lists always helps!"

"It really doesn't," Sam sighed. "What are we going to walk up to the beast and say oh we made a list so you cannot hurt us now?"

"No!" Drew said. "I mean it helps organize your thoughts and helps you think clearer. It can help you find a solution you may have missed."

"Whatever Drew." Sam rolled her eyes. "I am honestly surprised you aren't filming."

"You know that's a great idea!" Drew said. "Our viewers would love a Nazi mystery episode! They left us with a camera, didn't they?"

"They did." Sam said. "Remind me not to give you a compliment again."

"Why?" Drew asked with a surprised look. "Do you not like money? Cause if you don't like money you can always give it to me."

"I'll go get the camera." Sam sighed in agreement. "Terry come with me; I don't want to go alone. Let's give Drew some alone time with his circle."

"Alright." Terry agreed and the two of them left Drew alone in the lab.

"That's fine." Drew said to himself. "I will figure this shit out, and you both will be amazed at my greatness." He began to search the piles of clutter around the edge of the room. He hoped to find some bit of something with English on it. Alas every bit of paper he picked up was written in German. He heard the door open in the hallway. "Guys wrong door!" He shouted. "Remember it's the one labeled Labor." No one answered his shout. "Guys?!" He shouted again. "Come on don't mess with me like this."

Drew walked to the entrance to the lab to investigate what was transpiring outside. He did not see any lights in the hall so he decided to enter the hallway to investigate. He shined his light from side to side lighting up the hall, but he did not see anything. "I wonder which door opened." He said to himself. "Guys." He shouted again.

As if responding to his yell he could hear the sound of movement coming from the hall to the East. He turned to shine his light as the sounds of movement. He saw men shuffling towards him slowly. They were wearing old brown uniforms, with a red band around their bicep. "Nazis?!" Drew shouted in surprise. As he took a closer look at them, he noticed their faces had been decayed with empty eye sockets and melting torn flesh. "Fucking Nazi zombies!?" He shouted. He wasted no time in rushing up the stairs. He saw Sam and Terry on their way back down. "Run!" He shouted to them. "Get out!"

They were confused at first, but could see the panic in Drew's eyes. They quickly turned to run as well. The trio exited the stairs and Drew quickly closed the door. "What was that about Drew?!" Sam questioned.

"Nazi zombies." Drew replied quickly. "There are Nazi zombies down there."

"Oh, hell no!" Terry shouted. "First, we got a damn unknown beast that ripped experienced military people apart! Now we got damn Nazi zombies?! You are never, I repeat never, picking our vacations again!"

"Fuck Drew!" Sam complained. "Do you think the beast turned them into zombies?!"

"How would I fucking know?!" Drew replied. "My guess would be no, though. They came out of a different room, might have been a different experiment."

"What a wonderful island paradise." Sam began laughing from the stress. "This is all your damn fault Drew! You are far too trusting to your fans! Fuck! You got us into this mess! You get us out of this mess! I don't give a damn anymore! If you get us killed so help me, I will quit the damn show!"

Sounds of the door being hit on began behind them. "Looks like my new friends made it up the stairs." Drew sighed. As if responding to the banging of metal, a loud roar could be heard outside the walls of the camp. "And our beast friend is here too, how wonderful…"
